Am I reading this because of Batwoman? Maybe...
Returned home to this adorable gift from @Megabooks !! Thank you so much ! I am so blessed to know you ! Litsy is such a great place! π₯°π₯°π₯°
I discovered the amazing backstory of Alice in wonderland, courtesy of the British library Instagram feed, complete with a link (see below) to pages from the original manuscript. https://www.bl.uk/collection-items/alices-adventures-under-ground-the-original-m...
I‘m ashamed to say that I had not read this book until now! π€ But I‘m glad I have remedied that - it was a bizarre and delightful read!

I will buy every damn copy of this book I find.
Alice‘s adventures in Wonderland is a classic story by Lewis Carrol about a girl who falls down the rabbit hole and finds a nonsensical new world and some very interesting inhabitants. I feel that this book would be a good LC book for the class. I could assign short readings from the book and also about the author using ESOL strategy 38 to help get new English learners to practice while learning about the time period and the story. #ucflae3414f19
Costume contest at work yesterday! My dept went as characters from Alice in Wonderland. I had almost all the parts for my costume. My Mom (who is awesome) whipped up the pinafore Sat night with some leftover fabric and I bought the headband. We had so much fun and the library patrons loved it. With the terrible weather both of our storytimes were hopping: about 170 people at the AM and 120 at the PM! Today I'm pooped, but totally worth it.
Jackson did an extra credit project for school... his 3rd grade class had to choose a book to read and review, and then dress up a pumpkin as one of the characters. We had read this book together last year, but he reread on his own and made this Mad Hatter. He‘s pretty pleased with it. β€οΈ
As you can see, Jack is a fan of the Tim Burton movies. π
It's a rainy day today ββ Taking my tea break to warm up and count my hours. With yesterday's, I'm at 9 hours of reading! 30 more minutes and I'll have reached my 5 hour reading goal for today, but with the weather like this, I think I'll read longer, let's see what happens π Also need to find me a munchie π

Finished up my 5hrs for today before noon, which surprised me! Guess it was my late night reading that did the trick π Finished two #manga (that I wasn't able to find in the litsy database), read some webcomic updates, and started my #reread of The First World War by Keegan #nonfiction. Will continue to read later, how much time are people at?

Lastly, she pictured to herself how this same little sister of hers would, in the after-time, be herself a grown woman; and how she would keep, through all her riper years, the simple and loving heart of her childhood: and how she would gather about her other little children, and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of Wonderland of long ago: and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows,π
I've been seeing a lot of Alice in Wonderland posts. My personal favorite is the 150th anniversary edition illustrated by Salvador Dali.

Book #94: In one word, this book was "bizarre". This is the first time I have read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but I have seen both the Disney and Tim Burton versions, and both of them made more sense than this book. As my friend put it, that must have been some good opium he was on when he wrote this. The story jumps around randomly and it goes...

βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ: This was such a treat. Journeyed down the rabbit hole in this bizarre tale. Completely enjoyable.
Finally visited this beautiful 11 feet tall Alice in Wonderland sculpture in Central Park NYC! It‘s a beautiful day, and it was tough to get a shot without people posing on it!

Stayed in the coolest #hotel where everything was oversized to make you feel like you were in Wonderland, Trinity Church Hotel Dublin. I know it‘s under new ownership now and I‘m not sure they kept the theme.

Donβt fall into the trap of thinking you won't bother reading Aliceβs Adventures in Wonderland because you saw the film a million times. Reading the book is a completely different experience. The cleverness of the wordplay is a lot more noticeable. The best way to experience this book is to read it aloud, to get the full impact of its genius. My mom and I found this little gem while shopping at the Pony Artistic Studio in Solvang, CA. My mom bought the Heidi charm. If you can't visit the brick and mortar store, you can go to Vintage Charmed Books on Etsty. Something cool I wanted to share. π
Night Parade at Disneyland was also amazing π
I was in Disneyland Tokyo today and it was as magical as expectedπ
So sad I didnt go to this but it the cost was $60!!! that is just a little ridiculous!
I love old books. I got this one from the library book sale.

It‘s the last week of the excavation and that means we‘ve gone to a six day work week. What that really means is that I have one more week of not reading a lot and then I can get back to ALL the reading. Can‘t wait. I definitely miss escaping into a good book while excavating. So, this week‘s book covers are both great. Do you have a favorite? (And then the two for next week are my favorite of them all I think.)
Im looking forward to reading Alice In Wonderland to my kids when they get a bit bigger β€οΈπ

π§ Taking a break from listening to βTom Jones‘ with this short (less than 3 hrs) Audible offering.
I‘m a big AIW fan, and I like Scarlet Johansson as the Black Widow in MCU, but I‘m not really grooving on her flat American voice stripping out all the Britishness of this Classic 19th c. tale.
I‘ll finish though while I‘m waiting for another credit to roll in.
