My daughter went back to school this morning for the first time since late March so I get my reading time back - yay! I can get my book schedule back on track - yay! I've been waiting for this moment for so long - yay!
So why do i feel so ... empty? 😢
Suddenly schedules and totals and targets and lists and plans don't matter at all.
And I bet she's not even remotely missing me like I'm missing her ... 😭
I listened to all types of music growing up thanks to my parents. I‘m also a violinist, so I listened to and played a lot of classical music growing up. These albums/composers/musical artists were a few that played a big role in my life during high school. @BarbaraBB @Cinfhen #back2school

These are not necessarily songs I even like, but for each one I have a memory connecting it with school.
I didn‘t read the book that got the #back2school thread going, but I wanted to join the fun! These all came from my senior yearbook. I was captain of the cheer team and had sweet bangs! Also included a clip from one of the current event pages. “Stephen King shakes up the publishing world by releasing one of the first online books.” 😂 #classof2001
Well, two of the biggest things that happened during my school days were my dad winning a truck from the local grocery and my college‘s basketball team winning the national championship. TV always took a backseat to socializing (and studying) then, just as it takes a backseat to reading now. The only show I can always remember watching from 1991 to like 2003 was The Real World, which probably explains my love for reality TV today! #back2school

As I don't have any photos to hand I thought I'd post the books I remember having to read in High School. I hated them all. There was also a book about people dying of radiation sickness in the aftermath of nuclear war - it gave me nightmares and I've completely blanked out its name. We also did some plays and poetry which I liked a lot more than the novels.
#AboutAugust Day 12: This seems pretty #abrasive. Comic was shared by fellow educators on social media which I paired with tagged book.
Day two of been back in work fulltime and I am loving it 😍 So good to be back and although we're only in bubbles of 15, it is still very busy! All our nursery, reception, year 1 and year 6 have returned. Very lucky to work in a school that is so kind and caring. Management have made it really safe for us all and the parents and children have been fab!
Really want to finish a book today as my reading has been very slow 🙃
My oldest started his first year of preschool, and I‘m joyfully reliving my childhood looking through his Scholastic book order forms! 😍📚
Back to school and I already feel a little overwhelmed as I get back in the swing of it. The only reading I‘ve been doing is with my textbooks. Hopefully as I get going I can plan more recreational reading! How are you all this weekend? Hopefully everyone is enjoying their weekend and upcoming week! 🤗
Also a little Harry Potter as background noise!
Ugh- I guess it‘s time for me to do this again! Back to school I go!!
Here are some of the books I have acquired over the summer for my classroom library. Can‘t wait to introduce these to my kiddos—we‘re going to be all about choice this year! #classroomlibrary #teachersoflitsy
Registered for fall at my local community college! I dropped out of my 4 year school I went to right after high school (I graduated in 2007) because of lots of reasons. But I finally decided to pull the trigger and go back! I‘ll only be taking one or two classes a semester since we‘re paying out of pocket and I don‘t want to get overwhelmed balancing my school, my son‘s school, the dog, the husband, and the house but I‘m very excited!
Chewie isn‘t going to know what to do tomorrow when I have to go back to school after our impromptu winter break!!
Survived my first day back after #WinterBreak! #TeachersofLitsy
Despite the fact that I have been back to school for three weeks, I still managed to read some books this month. That probably explains why I am already desperately buried in grading that I need to do. I had a mixture of books. Some I really liked, others were forgettable. On to September 😊
First weeks of school are really slowing down my Litsy posts! Just wanted to check in and say 👋🏼! I haven‘t been reading a ton, had to cancel my book club meeting that I run every month, and am just generally exhausted. At least we have a clean place!? Hopefully next week is better and I begin to build up my school/work resistance. Any suggestions for some fun, light reading!?
After a really hectic weekend, this is the BEST way to spend the last night of summer break!
I‘m very grateful that my child got her act together early enough in the day to get all her stuff ready for school tomorrow, so we could spend the evening relaxing and reading. 😍

August has been a crazy month! We started back to school Wednesday, and I feel like we hit the ground running! To celebrate a great start to the school year, here is my first #FeetUpFriday post!
I have a couple more things to pick up and my #TeacherCarePackage will be on its way to Texas! Happy Back to School, friends!

I‘m going to back to school soon and spent the day putting together a cozy study spot. I found the desk at Target for $10 on clearance! I spent way more than that on accessories. 😂 Also, I‘m super mature.
