God how I Loved this story, the writing, eh, not so much, but the story 🥰

Annie Freeman wants her five friends to spread her ashes in six places around the country that were significant in her life. And what an absolutely incredible journey this turns out to be!

#ScaryFebruary #Funeral

MatchlessMarie This looks pretty fun actually! 2y
TheBookgeekFrau @MatchlessMarie It was! Also, very heartwarming 2y

#sundaysoapbox

My reading tastes are sometimes not really in line with mainstream.

Some I do recommend are:

Annie Freeman‘s Fabulous Traveling Funeral
Dracula
A Walk In The Woods
Ex Libris
I Hate Fairyland
Pumpkinheads
Night
The Snowy Day
IT
What‘s Eating Gilbert Grape
The Gargoyle
To Kill A Mockingbird
Unbroken

Nonfiction and horror are my two favorite genres. I‘ve really come to enjoy horror graphic novels.

ElizaMarie Oooo some great ones there! I think its time for me to re-read I Hate FairyLand. I loved that one so much! 3y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Good ones! Thank you for playing!! 📚🙌🏻 3y

1. Tagged - Annie Freeman really helped define friendship.

2. The Greatest Secret - was very philosophical and transcendental - it took me about four chapters to push through and really feel the depth of the book.

I haven‘t played in a bit due to life and surgery, but thanks for always posting @TheSpineView

TheSpineView You're welcome and Thanks for playing! ❤📚 4y

1. My favorite friendships are in Annie Freeman‘s Fabulous Traveling Funeral.

2. I‘d say Ashley Spires who writes the comics featuring Binky the cat.

3. There have been a few that intimidated me. The last one being Moby Dick with the current book I‘m reading being Les Miserables.

Thanks for the tag @ElizaMarie

I always buy the new Kris Radish books. The first I read was Annie Freeman‘s Fabulous Traveling Funeral, and it‘s been a favorite ever since. I‘ve read a lot of her other books. My plan is to purchase the last two I haven‘t read next year.

Sorted is by: Non-Fiction, then General Fiction, and Mystery Thriller. Usually that last stack is biggest.

One of my favorite female authors is Kris Radish. She writes books about women for women. She grew up loving Nancy Drew stories. My favorite book of hers is: Annie Freeman‘s Fabulous Traveling Funeral. This book shows how interconnected our lives and friendships really are. I was lucky to find it and make good book friends.

Erinsuereads That looks like such a sweet book! Great choice! 6y

It‘s #Recommendsday! I‘ve been trying to only read books that are positive and happy lately, and I was worried about this book club read. Grief? Loss? Funerals? Not stuff I want to think about right now! But I was very pleasantly surprised with the heartwarming, uplifting nature of this book. Yes, there is some sadness…but this book helps teach you how to cope with it and work through it. It‘s all about the importance of friendship and kindness.💖

LitLogophile Hmmm great review. I‘m also trying to avoid sadness and could probably use this uplifting read. Any other good recs? 7y
Elizabeth2 I read this with my book club, many years ago, shortly after my mother was given a terminal breast cancer diagnosis. Sometimes the books you read get tied to major events in your life. We loved this book. My girlfriend and I even made a special stop in Islamorada on our way to a girls‘ trip to Key West. Another has mentioned she wants a similar send off. 7y
BookBabe @Elizabeth2 I‘m so sorry for your loss. *big hugs* Yes, it‘s a wonderful idea for a send off. This book really emphasized the importance of deep, caring relationships to me. 💙 7y
BookBabe @LitLogophile I had to give that some thought. I really haven‘t managed to find any books completely devoid of sadness, but some of the most uplifting that come to mind are: Anne of Green Gables; Pollyanna; Saving CeeCee Honeycutt; A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy 💙 Do you have any recs for me? 🙂 (edited) 7y
LitLogophile Thank you for the recs!! You know, it‘s funny, for someone who claims that I‘m looking for something uplifting, I normally read very dark books. A few that just put me in an overwhelming positive mood are Yes Please, Northanger Abbey, Milk and Honey, and The Alchemist — all for different reasons, they definitely keep the demons at bay. 7y

#emojinov #🚦Made me think of road trips, and this cute sounding novel from my #TBR that a friend recommended to me recently.... sounds like a good #palettecleanser ... Anyone read it?

Godmotherx5 @KarenUK I read it about 10 years ago. I felt the end was wrapped up too quickly. As if another writer stepped in to write it. Cute up until the last chapter or so. 7y
