I loved the writing in this book more than I loved the book itself. Marra‘s writing is clever and his turns of phrase stuck in my mind. A broadly scoped story about WWII refugees/immigrants making their way in 1940s Hollywood, this book perhaps spread itself too thin with too many characters and stories, but, honestly, the vivid and hilarious descriptions of the main character‘s Italian great aunts is worth the price of admission.
