pick8-2-22: My 74th finished book of 2022! Book 1 in the Veronica Mars series. It‘s Spring Break in Neptune, California, and the college kids have come from far and wide to celebrate. When a girl goes missing Veronica is hired to find her. Fans of the show will love this return to Veronica and her fun cast of characters: her dad Keith, boyfriend Logan and friends Mac and Wallace. It kept me guessing until the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣7️⃣4️⃣

Finally (!) finished The Good House. I struggled with that one all the way through. When the plot was moving, it was too scary. When it wasn't, the pacing was difficult. But honestly, I think I was the one with the issue this time, not the book. Looking forward to listening to Veronica Mars in time for my podcast to cover the books. I loved the show. So here goes... maybe this will help the reading slump I've fallen into.
Loved both of these! I highly recommend the tv series, movie, and book 1. Can‘t wait for book 2 to become available at my library.

June was a fantastic reading month for me! I read a total of 107 books, including audiobooks, physical books from my shelf, comics/graphics, and picture books. Out of these 107 books, 37 of them matched the #ReadYourSign Scorpio prompts. Veronica Mars being the book which covered the most Scorpio prompts. I had so much fun with this event, and hope to do it again next year. 🖤

Any other Veronica Mars fans out there? A friend from the Buffy fandom recommended I give this show a go and I‘ve watched the first three seasons and the movie over the last couple weeks. pickHi hello yes I am getting antsy for the new VM series why do you ask? But really, this was a fun quick read. As much intrigue and as many quips and twists as I expect from Veronica Mars. Could've done with some more Logan and a bit more action tbh, but what can you do?

so-soI love everyone involved with this show and this book. I just want to get that out of the way because I think it‘s my deep abiding fandom that has me feeling a little disappointed. I think the disconnect is the third person narrator instead of Veronica herself. I‘m so used to seeing this world through her lens, and this tonal shift creates a distance I‘m not used to.
TLDR: it‘s fine, but it‘ll only make you miss the show more if you‘re a fan.

I've never actually seen Veronica Mars, but I think Kristin Bell is adorable, and she does a phenomenal job narrating this. The story itself was really entertaining, sort of noir lite. It made me want to watch the show. I've got the second in the series on my wish list, but for some reason Bell doesn't narrate that one so I may go with the print version for that.
Only 7 hours to go for #24in48. I think I can make it.

Anyone else a Veronica Mars fan?
pickA super fun mystery featuring my favorite teenage sleuth, all grown up. The mystery wasn't the most difficult to figure out, but there were some twists and turns, and I really enjoyed seeing Veronica's evolving relationships with her dad and mom. Pretty much the only part I didn't like is how far Veronica and Logan are from one another, how little Logan is in the book, and any doubts Veronica might be having. The audio is read by Kristen Bell! 👌
Took an audio walk in the woods with #VeronicaMars and my dog this morning. I‘m catching up with my favorite formerly teen sleuth before she returns to action in the Hulu revival next year.
A wondered why there hadn‘t been any new Veronica Mars books lately, they are getting a revival on Hulu, that‘s probably why!!!

pickThis was fantastic. I didn‘t realize how much I missed these characters until I listened to this. I have a half-complaint that there wasn‘t enough Logan, but at the same time I love that we got Veronica and not just LoVe.

pickI mostly listened to the audiobook despite having a the book in paperback already. The audio is read by Kristen Bell, which made the whole thing perfection. I'm a total #Marshmallow though so I'm biased.
