This evenings plans.
Why have I not heard of William Gay before? This book is great! Southern ghost story? Yes, please!!
Away from home. Quiet hotel room, snowy night and a new book. 🤗📚❄❄❄
The first two books were appetizers, this one is the meal. 🤗👌🏽
Today's plans.
#decembertbr Subject to changes but I surprised myself by sticking closely to my nov tbr list. I am loving this book so far. I actually need to read 8 books to complete my reading challenge...I'm nervous because Dec is going to be busy. 😭
#bestofnovember The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was my fav book this month. Insomnia was a very close second. #photoadaynov16 #nonfictionnovember
#chillyreads I loved all of these books! #photoadaynov16 ❄️❄️❄️
Not counting the three short story collections here is my #currentlyreading stack. The top two are bedtime stories for my daughter. I just finished Carrion Comfort, reread Dark Matter for my book club this week and am making my way through the Neil Gaiman. #photoadaynov16
Dog is dreaming, cat is watching her 'stories' and I'm reading. Everyone is in their happy place!
@LibrarianRyan put up a #classicthanksgiving challenge so I found a few really old paperbacks and took some shots. I loved this book many years ago. I should reread it as an adult.
I'm #thankfulfor everything that is my life but, family and books are in the top two spots. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the U.S.! Canadian here who celebrated thanksgiving way back in October. Hope your day is filled with good people, good food and good books! 😊#photoadaynov16
Love this! I did the same thing to my daughter but with Gaiman. I gave her The Graveyard Book. I told her it wasn't scary. She only read the first few pages when she gave it back. "I will not read THAT before bed, mom". Now she reads all about cats. ??
I just gave this 3 stars over on GR but that's sort of the opposite of how I felt about this book. I can't decide whether I loved it or hated it. 🤔🤔🤔 I'm giving it a pick because the writing is brilliant even if the subject matter was pretty hard to relate to. Controversial, pornographic, amusing and sad.
I didn't think I would have anything for #headlesscovers So many horror books and all the heads are intact! #photoadaynov16
This book is so weird. 100 pages in and I have no idea what is going on.
#TBT Pretty slow reading month last November. Jonathan Strange took up a lot of time. Worth it though. I didn't end up liking 'You' very much.
My #bookpyramid from the largest to the smallest books I own. #photoadaynov16
This one gets all the stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A guaranteed-to-get-you-out-of-a-reading-rut kind of book.
#orangecovers I 🍊 orange! Photoadaynov16
Absolutely fascinating! I knew nothing of Truman Capote other than that he wrote 'In Cold Blood'. Now, I don't think it's possible to know more. I loved the style in which this bio is written. An oral history. Reminded me of the other Plimpton book 'Edie'. Both subjects had very similar lives. These photos were not how I pictured Truman before but how I see him now.
The best fairytale ever! #heretherebedragons I love Robert Munsch! #photoadaynovember16
So sad to hear this news. His words meant the world to me. xo R.I.P. Leonard Cohen
Out of these 4 I could not pick a #favoriteneilgaiman They all get 5 stars from me. ❤️
Inspired by a restaurant I ate at in Nashville and @MrBook (one can only see so many tater tots pics before caving) I made truffle tater tots with Parmesan and rosemary. Heavenly 😇
Charles Cullen confessed to 40 murders but the estimated number is more like 400. What will be even more shocking is that he was caught many times by the hospitals he worked in but, they were so frightened by the legal ramifications that they just let him go. With references no less. Unbelievable. Truth is stranger than fiction. #nonfictionnovember
My favourite kind of #politicalfiction ❤️ Dr. Seuss and his simple truths. Good luck today, America!
I 💜 #cookbooks ! I read them like novels and use them for inspiration but only rarely do I cook from them. I find them at used book stores and garage sales and buy the ones that catch my eye. #cookbooklove #photoadaynov16
It's really frightening that is a true story. 😱💉💊🌡
What's your Regency Name?
Sophia Morris of Northhill Cottage
#readinschool I'm sitting here trying to remember all the books we read but these are the only ones that come to mind. I liked most of them. I didn't 'get' Shakespeare until I was in my twenties. I need to reread Beowulf.
You do not know pain until you have tried to read this book out loud. Awful. Worst bed time story ever. Even my 10 year old found it boring. #threwitacrosstheroom 🙄 #shankityshankshank #photoadaynov16
Ahhhh..mazing! Everything I love about King is in this book. The dark fantasy is strong in this one. Ralph Roberts is the best 'Everyman' hero! 💜 and it's #setinasmalltown -Derry, Maine. #photoadaynov16
My daughter is sleeping over with her Gram tonight and the house feels soooo quiet. Sadie just wanted to let me know she's got my back. Now to finish this book and steal, I mean eat some candy. 👍🐶🍬🍫
While not entirely true(I love summer) I do appreciate the guilt free isolation a cold rainy day affords. 🌬🌧📖
All of these books inspired me. CotCB-to learn about herbs and natural remedies, Consilience- Research the philosophies of the Enlightenment, Cosmos- Everything I could know about the universe TCDoaEL- Learn everything I could about the calendar. I love books that turn me on to other subjects. 🤓#inspiring #photoadaynov16
#Recommendsday When Zola sets out to write a psychological thriller, he goes all out. Tragedy level: Shakespearean Murder, lust and trains. I choo choo choose it! 🚂 🚂 #planestrainsandautomobiles #photoadaynovember16
My favourite #scaryread this year was House of Leaves. Weird, distressing and interactive. So much fun! #allhallowsread
I've read 4 of the stories in this #scaryreadintranslation and they're really creepy. 😱😳 #allhallowsread
#bestofoctober It was a great month for reading. I loved seeing everyone's #scarystories 😱🙌🎃 #booktober
