I live in a downtown area so I'm always grabbing doors to help people with their arms full.
At 15, we had a yard sale. A girl of 6 asked if I had any Barbies. I wasn't planning to unload them (nostalga) but her hopeful look had me running upstairs to grab the entire box full of Barbies and her tacky clothes & accessories. I think there were a couple NKOTB dolls, too. Free to a good home. ❤
@jb72 I totally agree with you on this one! I try to do something kind everyday like holding open doors or letting a car in traffic. Today I watched a mom and her son buy coffee & a cookie for about homeless man. It made ME feel good and grateful.
Today I‘m thankful for:
people who pick up litter
the man who gave me his parking space
librarian who put a book aside for me after our conversation last week.
I had the most wonderful surprise in my mailbox today from the very sweet, very thoughtful @BookNAround ! Oh my goodness, Kristen, you made my week! 🤗🤗🤗 I‘m looking forward to reading this, especially as it‘s set 20 minutes from where I grew up! 😊
But it‘s the thought behind it (and your sweet card) that means the most! Thank you so much!!! 😘😘

While at Barnes & Noble today a lovely woman bought these for my kiddos. A complete stranger thanking me for reading with and getting kiddos books. She wanted to help my plight after learning about me and my volunteering. Win for literacy!!! There are more good peeps than we realise folks❤️📖. I can‘t even begin to express the joy I feel at receiving this wondrous #bookmail today. I‘ve been dealing with some really difficult things lately, so being the recipient of such an amazing #randomactofkindness has really made my burdens feel a little lighter. I haven‘t read or own either of these books, and I‘m over the moon about the little book journal! And more bookmarks for my collection! I can‘t thank you enough @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks !!!
#randomactsofkindness I was in Charleston for work all week and came home to this lovely box from @Jas16 . You, my dear, are also in the category of why Littens are the best. This was completely unexpected and I love it. I've lusted after those mugs for a long time too! (The light in my house is weird right now- it's a green library card mug from Out of Print)

I was so very touched to receive your surprise package (all the way from the Netherlands, no less!) with a beautiful card/note and a copy of my very first Agatha Christie to read. I have mentioned before that I have a hard time at this time of year. 7 years ago, I had a stillborn baby boy, Luke, on Christmas Eve. One of the things we do to make his birthday a bit easier is do 19 acts of kindness in honor of the 19 weeks I carried him. I cannot tell you how this made my day! I am in awe every day how wonderful everyone here is. Litsy is my happy place and I want to thank you all so much. I just got a little teary.
As for the package, I love it! The vampire rubber duck made me laugh.

My kids‘ elementary school used to give out badges to students caught doing #RandomActsOfKindness.
There are so many kind-hearted folks on Litsy, why not have a place to say how much we appreciate each other?! Want to say how much you love someone‘s upbeat attitude? Getting really excited for this challenge/project! 61 days filled with kindness and love. Anyone who wants to join, please feel free. I've been researching "Random Acts of Kindness" on Pinterest all day and there are some awesome ideas. My budget is limited so most of mine will be free or close to it. #HaveCourageBeKind Also, if you'd like, please share so we can create a wave of positivity all over the world
I need help, Littens. Do you have any ideas for some cheap/free Random Acts of Kindness I could do? I'm not feeling great about myself, and this always helps, but I'm a little cash poor right now. Also, I prefer truly "random" acts (where no one knows or sees me do it-I'm shy). Open to suggestions. ☺️

As I was handing the cashier a twenty, a lady stepped in and paid for my earrings when I was checking out at TJ Maxx yesterday. She just stepped up and said, "I'd like to pay for them." I thanked her and gave her the biggest hug. The cashier asked, "Do y'all know each other?" When we said, "No," she was like, "Awww?!" So sweet. Needless to say, I'll be looking for someone to bless this weekend. I think I'll do it at B&N or HPB. ??
