Wow, this certainly took some unexpected turns!
I haven't read a domestic thriller for ages and the ones I have read have felt disappointing after Gone Girl. In my opinion, He Said / She Said definitely holds its own in the genre.
The build up during the first three quarters of the book is slow but intense and then bang, that last quarter could cause whiplash.
These arrived yesterday as I was feeling blah from my second Moderna vax dose, and it brightened my day! Thank you @EadieB for sending me this #bookmail! You are so sweet! 💗💗💗#bookmailisthebestmail
@Elizabeth2 Some books coming your way! The tagged book I read in 2018 and another surprise book is enclosed! Enjoy!
Which do you prefer to read? Popular books or interesting books ( which are not so popular, but the description sounds interesting..)? #books #amazonkindle #barnesandnoble
Unpopular opinion ....?
I know this is a well love thriller and a lot of people recommended it to me. But unfortunately I didn't like as much. The slow pace and disconnection with the characters made it a bit of a drag to me.
And I was very disappointed with the "twist" as it was my prediction all along.
I'm of the opinion that if this was written as a courtroom drama and the twist was totally nullified I would have enjoyed it more.
🌬️ Apparently it is Air... 😁 Never new that about myself (Quiz - https://www.buzzfeed.com/anjalipatel/four-elements-personality-quiz?utm_source=d )
🤯 Recently was Middlegame, The Starless Sea and The Ten Thousand Doors of January

Felt a long book, but once i got in to it, i needed to know how it all ended. Good few twists and turns. A good read!!! 📖 📚
Finished my March #bookspin at the absolute last minute, but I enjoyed it. It was pretty slow to start, but the twists at the end sped things up nicely. Wasn‘t my favorite but I do appreciate it was still able to surprise me
@TheAromaofBooks
The plot is brilliantly worked out and fits together perfectly. But one character who has seemed — who actually is — sympathetic, is revealed to have behaved with appalling cruelty, and to have done so out of weakness (and a surprising failure of empathy) rather than malevolence. The unravelling of the plot is handled with great skill but is at the same time utterly dispiriting.
Finished reading He Said / She Said and even though it did drag on at times it was an enjoyable read. A mystery thriller where a couple decide to change their names and cover their tracks after an event from their past. You keep reading because you want to find out what is going to happen next but it could have used a few less pages. I was able to figure out part of the twist in the end.

Started the New Year by picking a book that I would have never picked up myself if it hadn't been a Christmas gift. Enjoying it with some peach tea that was also received for Christmas. Good book so far that is making me want to read more. Although, I do feel this book might end up dragging on for too long. About half way through and I find myself urging the book to move along.

Thought this was a brilliant read. What a fab, twisty ending!
Thanks for the recommendation @Samplergal
Book 5/20 for #bfcr4
I almost bailed on this audiobook a few times but stuck it out, and the end was fairly twisty so I guess I‘m glad I did. The first half bored me and I found Laura‘s emotional hand wringing particularly overdrawn and predictable. Overall, way too long and very meh.
This mystery- thriller-suspense story keeps you hooked. Some aspects of the story take a while to unfold and behavior of some of the characters is confusing, but you keep reading and guessing. This is a story where nothing is as it appears, there are secrets, lies, issues of trust and multiple twists.
Really good, then bored me in the middle and saved it with a great end.
I‘ve not had much chance to post to Litsy this week, or do much of anything really, but tonight I had chance to attend this ‘Crafting Crime Fiction‘ talk with Erin Kelly. She was really engaging and it was great to listen to her talk about her books and process.
It‘s also end of #bookfitnesschallenge week 2. I think I‘m only at 4 points this week (1 additional post, 1 check-in post) so will have try harder next week! @wanderinglynn
Good, twisty thriller - definitely didn‘t guess the big twist. Enjoyed this read 👍🏻
Although this thriller was a little long-winded, I am a big fan of Kelly and this is my third outing with her. Spanning 15 years, the novel tells the story of Laura and Kit and the event, at an eclipse festival in Cornwall, that changes their lives forever. Well-written and clever, and definitely a page turner once you hit the the half way point.

I just had a book club a few weeks ago with this book. Stalkerish 👀 behavior seems to be a theme. Major twists and turns. A Solid four star ⭐️ book.
Why are Kit and Laura so #paranoid? I really enjoyed this book, and didn‘t spot many of the twisty bits...!
#anglophileapril
A good read! Definitely had a twist that I wasn‘t expecting. Enjoyed the writing very much. I felt very connected to the characters.
“How far we will go to make others believe our side of the story.”
It also inspired me to add a ‘total eclipse‘ to my bucket list.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A quiet evening in tonight - hoping to finally finish this one! Treated myself to a Starbucks ☕️
In other news...anyone having issues searching for their books on Litsy? Every time I search it will come up and then disappear. I have to click it as soon as I see it 🧙♂️
Been tired of these kind of domestic thrillers recently, so I haven‘t read one in a while.... but picked this one up for a bookclub. Good tension and pacing, kept my interest and I wanted to keep picking it up... so a win for me! Really liked the framing of the story around the solar eclipses and I didn‘t see most of the twists coming... a fun fast read. 3.5 ⭐️
Ooooh, wait a second. It just got interesting! 👏🏻
Hanging out with these two sleepy boys while I listen to more of the tagged audiobook. I‘m definitely liking it more as I get further into it, but it hasn‘t fully captured my interest yet.
I love how this book introduces each section - all based on the 5 stages of an eclipse.
“Totality” is stage 3. I think it‘s safe to assume I‘m getting into the good stuff now!
Continuing on with this #audiobook before I head to bed. Have any of you read this? How did you like it? I‘m not sure how I feel about it so far... but I‘m only 1/4 of the way into it. Time will tell.
#nextup for bookclub.... Been off thrillers recently as they all became so similar, but looking forward to this one.... first few chapters definitely have me intrigued! Thanks for the loan @Tex2Flo 😘
Because if I go into the book store, I am not coming out empty handed. It's a thing.
It takes a lot for an audiobook to hold my attention, but this one did. It has some great twists and turns. Don‘t let the first 1/4 turn you off. I almost bailed, but after reading other reviews I gave it more time. I was not disappointed.
Finished audio-laundry. Taking a break from audio-baking, to do some audio-stitching. I can feel a twist coming on...

P.S. It‘s an awesome coffee shop & bakery in Omaha, NE.
Current audiobook for a book club in the spring. Thrillers aren‘t my thing but it‘s good listening.

From the writer of Broadchurch comes another dark story. Kit & Laura go to an eclipse, and witness a crime. The aftershocks take 15 years to resolve themselves.
Definitely worth your time ❤️

One question for UK readers: how much do people get prosecuted for self-defense? I feel like a portion of this book might be a bit overblown. But then, I live in America, with 300 million people and guns🤷🏻♀️ Just curious.
Just started this. I‘m not having good luck with recent reads lately. I usually finish them, but not because I‘m necessarily enjoying it. More because I just want to see how it ends. Which is frustrating because I wish I didn‘t care how it ends! 😫 So hoping this one is enjoyable! 🤞🏾
This is a bit of a slow burner. I wasn‘t hooked for the first 1/4, felt there was too much build up and too much around the eclipse, however after that I loved it. Definitely worth persevering with though as I couldn‘t put it down. Didn‘t see the twists coming which is always a big thumbs up from me!
There was a sale on mystery thrillers. I couldn't resist! 😆😆😆Anyone read any of these or have them on your #TBR?
I hope to read #SharpObjects soon and then watch the new show!
#BookHaul
I was a little ambivalent about the book at first; it started slowly and (spoiler alert! And trigger warning!) I was worried the plot centered on a false rape accusation and I am not here for that content in 2018. But I was ultimately happy with this book: it was well-written and full of twists that kept me guessing till the end.
#HeatofJuly Who could ever forget THAT shocking and totally raunchy rendition of Miley Cyrus‘ “We Can‘t Stop,” mashed with Robin Thicke‘s controversial summer smash #BlurredLines at the 2013 MTV VMA ?!?!?
“Not only was culture changed, but my life and career were changed forever,” Miley stated.
#BlurredLines should not exist nor the defense He Said/ She Said ONLY YES means YES
I found the first half of the book to be a slow-read but from the middle to the end it was a unputdownable page-turner. I did not see the twist at the end and it was a definite surprise and made up for the slow beginning. I would recommend this book to those who like psychological thrillers about lies and relationships.
#hesaidshesaid #erinkelly
So... to an extent I take it back. This book isn‘t exactly absolutely pants but it‘s a bit slow. Im onto second contact now (second part of the book) and it‘s sort of getting better. Once the story is established and we get down to the court case (without giving any spoilers) it‘s getting better....ish. I can‘t wait to move onto the next book though. 🤔 #justafewthoughts
21% so far. Really finding this book sloooooow at the moment. Can‘t seem to get into it. I hate that because I sort of put off reading when I‘m not feeling it. 🤔🙁I WILL FINISH THIS BOOK. 📚
Next book on the list - He said She said ‘best selling suspense novel of the year‘ 📚
This novel is clever. The characters beautifully drawn and the pace masterful. Erin Kelly deserves every accolade she gets for this original novel. Brilliant! (Yet again Ms Kelly owes me a night's sleep! 😉)
When the book you're reading surprises you with the worst (or best...?) kind of twist. 😱😲😭 #marginalia
