Identical twin sisters who couldn't look more alike...or live more differently. Harper Frost is laid-back, easygoing. She doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. She likes a beer and a shot and wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything fashionable. She's inherited her father's rundown house on Martha's Vineyard, but she can't hold down a job, and her latest romantic disaster has the entire island talking. Two beautiful islands only eleven miles apart. Tabitha Frost is dignified, refined. She prefers a fine wine and has inherited the impeccable taste of her mother, the iconic fashion designer Eleanor Roxie-Frost. She's also inherited her mother's questionable parenting skills--Tabitha's teenage daughter, Ainsley, is in full rebellion mode--and a flailing fashion boutique on Nantucket in desperate need of a cash infusion. One unforgettable summer that will change their lives forever. After more than a decade apart, Harper and Tabitha switch islands--and lives--to save what's left of their splintered family. But the twins quickly discover that the secrets, lies, and gossip they thought they'd outrun can travel between islands just as easily as they can. Will Harper and Tabitha be able to bury the hatchet and end their sibling rivalry once and for all? Before the last beach picnic of the season, there will be enough old resentments, new loves, and cases of mistaken identity to make this the most talked-about summer that Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket have experienced in ages.

I haven‘t read an Elin Hilderbrand book that I didn‘t like. I become so attached to the characters in all of her books and this one was no different. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The perfect #reread to kick off summer. The characters are realistically flawed without being melodramatic, and the setting is jealousy inducing. #womensfiction

It took me a few chapters to be fully invested in the characters however once I was I was hooked. This was a light read involving family dynamic and love.

Maybe it‘s because I‘ve always been a sucker for anything about twins, but I got sucked into this #audiobook and finished it in a day. Estranged twins Tabitha and Harper come together after the death of their father and pull a twin switch of sorts, with the added bonus of lots of rich people and the beautiful island of Nantucket. I love her books because despite them usually being very privileged, her characters seem like real people and there ⬇️

JenlovesJT47 Is always something for me to relate to. I loved this one! 5⭐️ 3y

Who knew a game of rock, paper, scissors could dramatically affect someone‘s life?

Identical twins are forced to pick sides when their parents divorce and therefore grow up in two different worlds which leads to living two very different lives.

This was an easy listen for an audiobook and I appreciated the development of the main characters.

Still recommend reading 28 Summers by this author first.

Twin sisters, once inseparable, have spent most of their adult lives hating each other. Each has claimed an island as hers - one on Nantucket and one on Martha‘s Vineyard. The islands themselves are characters, and nearly the only ones who are not flawed. In spite of dislikable characters at times, I really enjoyed this story about family. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This is my least favorite Hilderbrand so far. Just too much! I think having it split between Nantucket and Martha‘s Vineyard and all the people and locales, just too many storylines and extraneous characters. I think the #audiobook could‘ve been 1.5-2 hours shorter and packed a better punch.

However, the last chapter from the dog‘s perspective completely undid me, and I‘ve been crying because I still miss Henry! 😭🐩💔

#bookspinbingo

MicheleinPhilly Speaking from experience, that hurt will never go away. It will lessen and become more manageable but you will never not miss him. I said goodbye to my guy 4.5 years ago and I still have the occasional day when the grief takes my breath away. I get it. It‘s hard. But it is a sign of the immense love you had for each other. ❤️ 4y
Megabooks @MicheleinPhilly oh yes for sure! Henry‘s the third dog I‘ve lost as an adult. I still think about Preston and Bandit every day. There are patients I‘ve had that I still mourn and wonder how their humans are doing. There are some I can still name from my first job after vet school! 4y

I love Hilderbrand‘s books as they tend to be a little deeper then a cozy romance. They focus on family dynamics with a side of romance. This one is about twins with mommy issues. I loved that this story takes place not only on Nantucket as per usual but also Martha‘s Vineyard. Perfect beach read.🏝 Book 61 4⭐️

Tracyantoon I read this one last year I think and really liked it! I have an older one of her books on my shelf I got from you years ago that I need to read. Enjoy her style. 4y

I love Elin Hilderbrand books. They are the perfect summer book. This one did not disappoint me. It was about identical twin sisters who basically switch places. I liked how the story progressed. It was also interesting at the end in the author notes that she mentioned that she has a twin brother.

I have a pile of Elin Hildebrand books to work through and there seems to be a rhythm to her books. I want to spend a summer where the everyday vernacular is to say down-island‘. A couple flaws in the 39 yr old identical twin comparisons, but so what!

Used to be a Finish What I Started Reader. This year I've bailed on more books than ever. Sometimes because they were depressing, I just didn't like characters or for whatever reason couldn't get into the story. Often times they are books that others loved. With so many books I want to read, I'm embracing Read What Makes Me Happy. Reading should be fun not something you struggle through just because everyone else loved it. 🤓

Wow. 2 Bails in 2 Days. I used to never Bail. Listened to several chapters of Midnight just couldn't get in to it. Skipped to last chapter. Meh. Identicals is for a Book Club that I sometimes attend. 2 Chapters and I'm out. Thinking I'll skip this month. Can't do books about family drama and ESPECIALLY women who continually make stupid decisions. 🤦‍♀️

What a surprise! This was my first by this author, and I enjoyed it WAY more than I was expecting to. This was the perfect summer beach read.... rich people problems, gorgeous island settings (Nantucket/ Martha‘s Vineyard), plenty of family struggles and shenanigans, flawed characters and a happy ending. This was definitely a #rightbookrighttime kinda thing. Just what I was in the mood for, and I‘ll read this author again.

No matter, four stars it is because it‘s exactly what I wanted and needed to read over the course of last 24 hours. And I think my next book will be another Elin Hilderbrand!

#unpopularopinion
This is my first Hilderbrand book and i think it will be my last since I‘m not a chick lit fan. Her dialogue is annoying- so much Tabitha said,Harper said,Tabitha said... And her litany of designer clothing (plus prices),menu items, and designer home goods was overdone. I‘m wondering if she got paid every time she mentioned a designer or a restaurant?

That being said, it‘s a decent story that is perfect for the beach.

#pop18

Finished this audio in just a couple of days. I enjoyed it. Hilderbrand has a way of drawing you into each character‘s world and wanting to invest your time in them.

Mdargusch I‘m listening to this now and I‘m annoyed with she said, she said, she said, he said,... the author needs to come up with some variations. I think it‘s probably more annoying to hear that than read that. 7y

Twin sisters split parent trap style during their parents divorce live on the competing islands of Nantucket and Martha‘s Vineyard, not speaking up until the day an unfortunate series of events causes them to have to switch lives for awhile.

Definitely a character driven novel. There‘s nothing special about it but when I finished I turned around and ordered a few more of her books because it managed to make me forget it was snowing in April.
