I really enjoy this series. It wasn‘t as Christmassy as I was expecting, but still a good third book in the series. Book 4 will probably be on my 2025 #Roll100 list.

1. Each year we shop for a new family ornament that gets all of our names and the year on it. The kids also get their own ornament. When they have a home of their own, they‘ll have an ornament for each year to take with them.
2. Tagged.
#DecemberDreams
Probably my #FaveHotDrink around the holidays at least is hot chocolate. Here‘s 3 times I paired it with holiday books I reviewed for book tours over the years.
For the tagged book, the recipe is the author‘s “Awesome Hot Chocolate” from the book. For We Met in December, it was Nigella‘s Hot Chocolate with Rum & for Christmas Ever After it was Iced Cinnamon-Mocha Cocoa because I reviewed the book in early October in Hawaii.😅
I‘m late to the Jenny Colgan party but I loved this one and will read more. 🎄🤶❄️ #tistheseason #seasonsreadings
Finished this one up before Christmas festivities and honestly must have read the description wrong because I thought it was a cozy murder mystery, haha. It is NOT BUT it is good. And I thought it was just going to be light and fluffy but it got me in the feels. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones and the fact that there was pregnancy in the book.... Who knows?
Oh, Jenny Colgan, what are you doing to me 😫? I absolutely LOVED Christmas on the Island and was so looking forward to this one. But…it‘s just ok. Some of these characters were truly vile, and it really didn‘t have much to do with Christmas. The narrator also did the worst American southern accent for one of the characters I have ever heard…it was laughable! But overall the story wasn‘t bad and I actually loved the ending. On to the next! 🌟🌟🌟
This is one of the risks when you borrow Christmas books without reading the blurb or anything else about the book.
This turned out to be the 3rd in a trilogy. And in the pages that I read it was a lot of telling about the village and it dynamics and what had happened in previous books. I didn‘t like this or the story telling. I made it to page 50 and nothing had happened yet.
My #bookspin is up next! 🎧
@TheAromaofBooks
I‘m definitely in the mood for a holiday read, and picked this up at the library, only to realize that I‘ve already read it 😱 Fortunately, I picked up another!
My December #bookspin and #doublespin
So excited for these! Thank you for hosting, @TheAromaofBooks
I woke up hungry and decided to break my date omelet recipe out of hibernation. It paired well with the start of my first holiday read of 2021.
Book 3 of the series. Great book. Loved all 3 books in this series. Light reading.
Yay! Finished book four. #DashingDecember #Readathon #WinterSolstice #WinterGames2020 #ReadNosedReindeer
I didn‘t realize when I bought this that it‘s the 3rd of a series. I haven‘t read the first 2 but that didn‘t seem to matter much. It was a cute story. 26pts for #merryreaders #wintergames #wintergames2020

#WinterGames2020 #The12ColoursOfDecember #Dec14 #SnowWhite This one is another adorable series by Jenny Colgan. The last in the Beach Street Bakery series about a woman who gives up everything to open a bakery on a small island off Cornwall in England & live in its lighthouse. Double points because it‘s a Xmas novel! 21pts Team #MerryReaders
I really love #bookspin. Sometimes it simply helps me decide what I REALLY DO want to read. I look at the winning number and realize what number I actually wanted it to be. So this was number 2 on the list. The third in this particular series, I enjoyed visiting these characters again. Christmas was definitely in the background, but I love the characters. The story itself left me a bit conflicted, but maybe that was the point.
Oh gosh these books are sweet. I skipped the 2nd book in this series but that‘s okay because the main characters of this book were principle characters to the original. I‘ve found it is helpful to at least read the first book of her series first. Dec #BookSpin @TheAromaofBooks
Just finished my birthday pressie from the lovely @NeedsMoreBooks ❤️ I loved the fact it was a festive book and it made me feel warm and cosy in September. I‘ve now read the three books in the series and Jenny Colgans writing is just so relatable and humorous...a definite pick 👍🏻
Curled up on the bed with my yankee candle burning, my dog by my feet and box of chocolates. Starting my new Christmas book....who cares if it‘s August! 🎄
@NeedsMoreBooks
The final book in this series is set at Christmas but really didn‘t deliver on any holiday feels for me. It felt like a jumble of problems generated at holiday time and wrapped up before New Years. #wintergames

Bk10 of the #WinterGames for #TeamNutcracker is done! I wish I could live in the world that Colgan creates, it‘s such a quirky, beautiful & amazing place, plus living in a lighthouse is something I‘ve always wanted to do. Polly is in a very happy place, living with her fiancée Huckle in Mount Polbearnes lighthouse & running her bakery. Then her friend Kerensa drops a bombshell which threatens to tear her world apart. 21pts #PointsTotal-1,153
Bk10 of the #WinterGames for #TeamNutcracker is this cute #HolidayRead from Jenny Colgan. There‘s only a few “chick lit” authors I like & she‘s one of them. The whole Beach Street Bakery series is fantastic, mostly because of a puffin called Neil. 1pt + 5 from games #PointsTotal-1,131
#WinterGames Yay! I finished my first #HolidayBook! It was an okay romance about a young woman who found her niche in baking wonderful breads and pastries and saving a Puffin Sanctuary off the coast of Britain. She‘s in love with an American (who sounded like a Texan) and her best friend is about to give birth. I guess it had a happy ending, but it was so-so. There you go Team #ReadNosedReindeer. I‘m off to a birthday dinner!
Fiction -most kinds. Wine, decaf tea, espresso in the morning to get my motor running 🤣 I like most things book related 📚. Hand cream, lip balm, moisturizer winter makes me shrivel up and flake away. Dark chocolate. Gingerbread. Shortbread. Love Actually. Die Hard. All the claymation movies. I LOVE old Christmas glass ornaments and bottle brush trees #xmasfaves #CanuckChristmasSwap
Pulling out my physical Christmas book and some classics I want to read🎄
I finished nine books in December, four of which were already returned library books, and one was on my kindle.

Eating leftover pumpkin roll with whip cream & caramel from my dad's Christmas party yesterday. I'm also starting Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery & this seemed like a good treat for the occasion. I probably won't finish the book before 2019, but I'll at least get a good start on it.
Just got home (a blizzard is brewing outside) & I found this outside my door!!! Thank you so much @tracy.m.ng
I've been wanting to read The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein since I found out about its existence! And Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery sounds like the perfect Xmas read for me, it's honestly just what I needed! And of course my sweet tooth is going to enjoy the Nips very very much! #MerryAndBrightSwap @EH2018
This is the 3rd in the Beach Street Bakery series and while the author indicates these could be read as stand alone, I think the series overall was more enjoyable reading them in order. This one is full of drama, but was also a sweet, heavenly slice of holiday cheer! True to fashion with her other books in this series, the author shares recipes from the famous treats prepared within Polly‘s bakery... can‘t wait to try the hot chocolate myself!
Jenny Clogan writes a giggle worthy Christmas story perfect fo this time of year. Read my full review at: https://onthebl.org/2018/12/10/christmas-at-little-beach-street-bakery/
@MaleficentBookDragon I was so excited to come home and find this package on my steps! Thank you so much for the wonderful gifts!! I'm so excited to read all of these. I especially love the coffee cozy you made!! Everything is so festive and lovely. I can't wait to sip the coffee out of my new mug. ❤️❤️ Thank you, you lovely litten!
And of course, thank you to the wonderful @Avanders for hosting!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I don't usually read Christmas books but I am looking forward to reading these this year.

Starting this one today on my work break. I made my second batch of fudge today. Looked good! Hopefully it tastes good too.
Much less satisfying that the first.
Bubble bath and light story is necessary for today!!
Finished up the Little Beach Street Bakery series tonight. I hope she writes more,3 just isn‘t enough, even with the caps lock & abundance of !!! Xmas is coming & Polly is run off her feet at the Bakery, Reuben insists she cater his family Xmas party, the wife of her “long lost” father finds her to tell her he‘s dying & wants to see her & Kerensa dumps a huge secret into her lap, begging her not to tell Huckle which of course backfires hugely.🥧🎄
Starting a few chapters of this before I collapse from lack of sleep. I‘m definitely living up to my #nosleeptillbookless hashtag! See you on the other side my friends.😘❤️😴
#BookMail No2 is the third Little Beach Street Book. Though it probably would‘ve been a more timely read a month ago. Really gonna need more shelves soon. #NewYearNewBooks #SoManyBooksSoLittleFunds
Ok I guess I had one last book in me. This is a sweet Christmas read set in Cornwall (what is really St. Michael‘s Mount) and the sense of place is well executed. If you want a sweet read set in a windmill in Cornwall complete with pet puffin for a Christmas read then this is calling your name. I have not read the other 2 in this series but probably not necessary. Onward to 2018 and Happy New Year Littens!!🍾🥂🎉🎉🎉🎉
I started this on the day before Christmas Eve, but the holidays were so busy that I barely had any time to read. And I've also been spending my spare time playing the Sims 4 that I got for Christmas. I should be able to finish it soon!
Finished this today!! Was a quick read which was what I was looking for today- was one of those books that was fine- not horrible, not wonderful but fine. It's a story of community & friendship & love & being present so what you have doesn't slip away. Snowball spent much of my reading time in my lap (we were away for a few days & now she won't let us out of her sight)
This is the 1st time I've had time to sit & enjoy my Christmas tree! Enjoying the extended Christmas days off with a Christmas book before returning to reality (or at least the business of life)
Perfect little cinnamon bun of a book. Christmas, Cornish scenery, delicious baked goods, and truly likeable characters. Oh, and a puffin.
Sweet, funny, heartwarming. The perfect holiday read. Really enjoyed it on audio!
Meh. I didn't feel connected to the characters and actually thought some were rather annoying. Didn't like this nearly as much as The Bookshop on the Corner.
