Scavenger Hunt with a little mysterious vibe.

I had no idea what to rate this book. As an adult, I felt the characters didn't have much depth. The main character (17) went on a trip around the world (per her deceased aunts instructions in letters). She was not allowed to communicate with her parents or bring any extra money that aunt didn't allow.. and the parents just... agreed? It was just so hard to suspend my disbelief there.

However, I think I would've loved this as a middle schooler.

Whenever I got too comfortable anywhere, I felt like I had to move on.

Ginny‘s aunt leaves her 13 little blue envelopes that lead her on adventure across Europe. Very fun & enjoyable.
I went back & forth with ebook & audio. I do not recommend the audio. The Australian accent was British and the French, Dutch, Danish, & Italian we‘re vaguely Asian. Made for a weird listening experience.

As a somewhat eccentric aunt who loves puzzles and scavenger hunts, I really connected with the Aunt Peg character. However, I wish the main character had been a little more exciting.

I chose this because I really liked Johnson's Truly Devious and The Vanishing Stair. I don't know if my problem with this one was the writing, the narration, or a combination, but I actually disliked it.

A YA 5 star read.

Interesting story about a teenager who has been left 13 blue envelopes by her aunt. The envelopes sent her on an adventure. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved the concept of this with a younger girl traveling on her own and big adventure but not for s 17 yr old. This was not something I liked beyond the general idea characters were not developed well and as an adult I wanted to scream about all the safety concerns I had for this girl. I didnt like it.

Ginny never thought she would spend summer vacation in Europe, but when she gets her first little blue envelope from her Aunt Peg telling her that she is dead. Her aunt wants her to drop everything and follow her instructions and do what she wants her to do based on the 13 little blue envelopes. Ginny has no idea that this summer will change her life. This was between a pick and a so-so for me.

Interesting premise, but I never felt invested in the characters.

After her flighty aunt‘s death, Ginny receives 13 envelopes, each containing a task guaranteed to be outside her comfort zone. The first contains money and the task is to buy a plane ticket to London. I had so many gripes with the plot, but I‘m too tired to list them now. The biggest was how Ginny‘s mom was cool with sending her underage daughter on this crazy trip by herself.

I am marking it so so, but it is between pick and so so. It irritated me that some of her actions were so without thought or care. I was also not impressed by Keith. I do not want to have spoilers. Even though parts of the story were a lot of fun, most of it was borderline. I just did not love the characters either.

Adorable YA novel. A happy way to start and end each work day in the car this week. Now on to something more substantial.

@MarriedtoMrT you didn't steer me wrong recommending this. My daughter is going to Portugal by herself in June, and this book gives me hope she will get along just fine on her own. I'm about halfway through the audio and enjoying this YA novel. Maybe I can get it for my daughter to read on the plane.

Ginny is sent on a European adventure that unfolds through letters inside 13 blue envelopes. The letters were written by Ginny's 35 yo late aunt, who put this all together as she was dying of a brain tumor. YA

Second deal alert! This is probably my favorite Maureen Johnson and it checks one of my favorite trope boxes: road trip/travel.
