"The moral of Pete's story is: No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song. . . ."
Yesterday we said goodbye to our kitty, Cola, who would have been 15 in September. The house feels empty without her. I hope she had a good life, and I hope the end was painless for her. ❤️😺❤️
If you are a teacher/parent run to Kohl‘s and grab Pete, Biscuit, Pinkalicious and their 3 in 1 books!!! #teachersoflitsy
Working in bare feet today after trying to stop, or at least redirect, a flooding sink in the women‘s bathroom. Thank goodness it was the sink and not the toilet!
“I Love My White Shoes”‘ yogurt bar at my son‘s Pete the Cat 4th Birthday Party. White shoes-yogurt. Red shoes-strawberry. Blue shoes-blueberries. Muddy shoes-raisins. #birthdaytheme #PetetheCat #yumyogurt
Had to say goodbye to this sweet guy this morning. Peter was quite the snuggler. We‘ll miss him. 🐾💔
I Love My White Shoes is a short story of Pete the Cat and his shoes.. They don't stay white the whole story but it doesn't phase Pete one bit. The author Eric Litwin and the music creator James Dean came together to create a fun and engaging series that really capture students attention.
Pete the Cat is a modern fantasy (MF) that would be great to use for storytelling (S). This book is catchy and easy to remember. Students would have so much fun telling the story of pete‘s white shoes to their classmates. This book has been the New York Times Best Seller for 108 weeks and in 2011 it won the ReadKiddoRead ward for Best Illustrated Books. #UCFLAE3414SP18
I love this book so much! Pete the cat I love my white shoes by the one and only Eric Litwin. The book falls into modern fantasy (F) which won a Theodor Seuss Geisel honor award. This book is beautifully made for children, it allows children to have fun and learn a couple of Colors throughout. I love that at the end of the book there is a moral: "no matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song......"
Pete the Cat is on another adventure, this time with his new white shoes! No matter what messes Pete steps in, he just keeps moving along. A New York Times best seller. I love the idea that there is a free song that goes along with the book.#UCFLAE3414SP18 See comments for more..
This is Barda. She loves shoes. She will lay on them with a paw inside. She will rub her face all over them. She's a big girl so sometimes she covers the shoes completely. @erinreads I hope she made you smile. #CatsOfLitsy #CatPicsForErin #Barda
This fun interactive F book by Eric Litwin and James Dean makes for a great for CR! Pete the Cat has a pair of white shoes but he steps in things which stain his shoes. But does Pete cry? Goodness, no! This laid back Cat teaches kids not to worry about the little things and that “it‘s all good”. #ucflae3414f17
Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes is a F PB writer by Eric Litwin and illustrated by James Dean. Pete the Cat is an entire series that is very popular but this specific book focuses on Pete and his brand new white shoes. As Pete steps into different things his shoes change color but his outlook doesn‘t. This book would be a good addition in the classroom because it teaches color and it includes the positive outlook that Pete is known for.
Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes is a fiction book that was on the NYT best Seller list. It‘s about a blue cat that gets a new pair of white shoes. While walking in his new shoes he steps in strawberries, blueberries, mud, and water but despite his shoes getting ruined he stays positive and loves his shoes how they are at that point in the story. I would use this book in storytelling because it has a great message for children and it‘s upbeat.
Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes is written by Eric Litwin and illustrated by James Dean. This realistic fiction picture book is for children the ages of 3-7. It is about a cat named Pete who gets himself into colorful adventures while our walking in his new white shoes. The UDI strategies I would use is 3.2 and 2.1 because it will highlight the patterns in the story. The ESOL strategy is 11 since it will place meaningful language to the text.
Pete the cat goes walking down the street wearing brand new shoes. Along the way his shoes begin to change colors as he steps through strawberries, blueberries, and other messes. No matter what Pete keeps walking along and singing his song. This fictional story can be used for multiple class lesson and activities RA S CR.
Pete the Cat: I Love my White Shoes by Eric Litwin is a F book that has been on the New York Times best sellers list. In my class I would use this book as a CR. This book is about a cat who has a pair of white shoes and he sings about how much he loves those white shoes until he steps in mud and his shoes turn brown and then he sings about loving his brown shoes. This continues through several other colors. #ucflae3414f17
This F PB written by Eric Litwin and Illustrated by James Dean would make a great book for any classroom library and would make an awesome RA to students. It‘s all about a cat who starts off with white shoes but as his day goes on he steps in all sorts of stuff, but instead of letting it ruin his day he just keeps going. This teaches students to not let one small thing determine your attitude for the day and instead look on the bright side.
Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes is a great F RA picture book that everyone should have in their classroom library. Pete walks through strawberries, blueberries, mud, and water, which ruins his white shoes. But Pete keeps on walking along and singing his song because its all good! I would use UDL principle 9.3 and ESOL strategy 3 to show that things may go wrong in life but do we cry? Goodness no!
Pete the cat and his white shoes
Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin and illustrated by James Dean is a F picture book that is a great CR and RA book for young students. The book focuses on Pete and his white shoes. On each page he steps in something of a random color, thus changing the color of his shoes. However, it never bothers him, he just keeps singing about his newly colored shoes.
The classic F book Pete the Cat: I Love my White Shoes is of course amazing to have in your classroom. He shows his readers that no matter what happens to him everything is cool. In this book he steps in different objects that turn his shoes all sorts of colors. Instead of crying about it he keeps walking along. This book would be a good CR because it is easy and fun for children to read along with you. #UCFLAE3414f17
This F picture book is a new favorite and I can‘t wait to make it an addition in my classroom one day! Pete has such a positive outlook no matter what happens, even if that means stepping in strawberries or mud! This would be a great CR or RA book for grades pre-k through 2nd.
This F book is about Pete the Cat and his famous white shoes that change into many different colors as he walks around with them. It is a great book for a read a loud and also for students to be entertained by their favorite cat! http://www.petethecatbooks.com #UCFLAE3414
The book, which is a F, follows Pete the Cat in a day that he is excited about his new white shoes. Throughout the day, Pete gets them dirty. However, he does not let this bring him down, he just keeps "walking along and singing his song"! Pete the cat F books are awesome. Pete never worries about a thing! He just goes around enjoying the good things in life. In this book the main problem was getting his white shoes dyed by multiple different colors but it didn't matter to him, he still loved them regardless!
Here is a YouTube video and a color activity for students.

I'm a teacher, and when I flip the calendar page to July, it's time to start thinking seriously about back to school. This year, I'm thinking of doing a Pete The Cat theme in my classroom. I ❤️ sharing stories about this cool cat with my students! 🕶👟
