I read and enjoyed Sophie Kinsella‘s books for years but then stopped reading her as my tastes evolved. After her recent death much too young, I wanted to pay homage to her and found there was a Shopaholic book I hadn‘t read. I enjoyed it and will always be grateful for what she brought to my reading life.

Oh man! So sad. 😞

After reading Christmas shopaholoc I realized I definitely missed Becky Bloomwood. The problem with series is that you have to wait some time for the next one and then you loose track. This happened to me with the Shopaholoc series. I really enjoyed following Becky‘s stressful Christmas preparations and the funny occurrences she managed to maneuver herself into. I mean she‘s now the youngest member of London‘s „oldest“ billiard club. 😂

In Switzerland it is a tradition to eat a Grittibänz on December 6th - something that was new to me when I moved here. Now, after two years in this country I was having mine with a hot cappuccino and my first Christmas read.

To be honest, I wasn‘t thrilled that my book club selected this one for our next read, but most members wanted something light after our last challenging book. I had never read anything by this writer, so I didn‘t know what to expect, but I found that it was what my heavy heart needed! What a refreshingly humorous take on holidays, family, friends, and compulsive shopping! It won me over!

This book drove me crazy throughout most of it. The main character had zero common sense which makes for a good story…but to NEVER make a good decision is frustrating to me as a reader. It was like finding the craziest situation and ALWAYS choosing that one. I did like the ending and how a couple different things came together to “work out”. ⭐️⭐️

These characters have really grown on me! I love Becky so much: when she decideds to do something she'll do it no matter what. That usually brings several hilarious scenes and I had so much fun with this book.

This book had again this and that but I am used to love the chaos that Becky creates xD There was so much happening that reading was intriguing at least :D #holidayromancebingo (character is obsessed with Christmas)

What was this, lol?! I enjoyed reading this... but it was chaotic and stressful at times because Becky was all over the place! 🤣

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is hosting Christmas at her house for the first time. Everyone has specific ideas about what has to be part of the festivities, and Becky is running around trying to buy everything she needs to make everyone happy. Hilarity ensues, all of the characters are fun, and this made me laugh.

I finally read the first book in this series over the summer. I thought it was cute and still relevant. I have several more books in the series but jumped ahead to this Christmas setting. Now I only want to fill in the spaces of the books that lead Becky to where she is because this book is adorable. I love how Becky‘s shopping is a quirk of character, and she‘s charming rather than self-indulgent.

🎧📖🎁 I've never read any of the Shopaholic books before, but I was in a festive mood (and it was free). I didn't really care for it however, the shopping aspect was too much. Had a cute feel good ending though.

Not my usual kind of read but it was on offer for 99p and i thought it would be a nice light read after finishing the final dexter book!

Finished this audiobook on the way home from work. This was such a fun story about Becky being forced to host Christmas for her family and friends who have invited themselves. If you have read any of the Shopaholic books, you know what a mess Becky can get herself into. I found myself laughing out loud many times listening to this book and the reader was just great! I recommend this one and if you like audio, it's definitely worth a listen!

Okay, confession... this is my first Sophie Kinsella book. I know, I know, I'm ashamed of myself. I LOVED IT! I laughed out loud so many times, and sometimes it wasn't just a chuckle, it was a good hearty laugh. I finished up the most recent book in the Shopaholic series today. It was much better than the last one even though I gave them the same number of stars. I would rate this ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5.

During the Stay At Home mandate that is currently in place I have been working on a cross stitch project. I started listening to Christmas Shopaholic this morning. Hopefully it‘ll be better than the last book in the series. I seriously thought about not bothering with this one, but since I‘ve made it to this point, I feel like I need to follow the books to their conclusion.

It‘s been a very long time since I‘ve picked up a book from the Shopaholic series, but I was interested in giving it a try when searching for holiday themed books. I‘m glad that I did because I enjoyed it more than I anticipated! Becky is up to her usual antics, which often stresses me out, but the situations she gets herself into are both ridiculous and hilarious.

I had a fun time reading this one for the holidays! It‘s been ages since I read a shopaholic book and I couldn‘t resist this beauty at Barnes and Noble. I love the wit, charm and silliness of the series. It‘s British which is just wonderful as well. I thought I knew where this story was going, but I didn‘t which made for an enjoyable read! #shopaholicseries #holidayreads

Becky drives me up a wall. I think she needs therapy. I don't really know how her husband manages to stay her husband. Other than my dislike for the character, I enjoyed the way Kinsella told the story. This was the PERFECT read to get me into the holiday spirit! I love this series but haven‘t read the last few before this one and was worried I‘d have missed something crucial. Happy to say it was easy to pick right back up with Bex and her insanely silly antics! I even got a little teary at the ending. So sweet and fun and full of joy! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
