It‘s Amazon First Reads day!! There are four choices that are labeled thriller, suspense, mystery & police procedural but Audible calls them all THRILLERS. I cannot decide … what book did you choose?

Clwojick Cover alone would have me choosing 2y
AudiobookingWithLeah I've liked other books by Kara Thomas...so I chose Out of the Ashes. Of course, I'll want to listen to it, instead. 2y

👻 Help! 👻 My IRL book club wants to read a thriller - or possibly a non-gory horror story - in October, but I don‘t read a ton of either genre, so I‘m a little stuck. Can you think of any books that would elicit great book club discussions? Thanks!

KatieDid927 I‘d recommend 4y
BookwormM This scared me 4y

britt_brooke @Well-ReadNeck Thanks for the other recs, too! 4y
KatieDid927 @britt_brooke Sundown is good but I also recommend her other book 4y
MsMelissa I think this is one of the better thrillers I‘ve read lately, and I really wanted to talk to someone about once I finished 4y
MsMelissa And this one I thought was amazing. I think it would be a good book for discussion 4y
britt_brooke @Megabooks I bailed on that one. 🙈 4y
britt_brooke @KatieDid927 I liked that one a lot, too! 4y
britt_brooke @Megabooks I loved that one! I might reread, just so my girls get to read it. 4y

britt_brooke @Megabooks Nope, I‘ll look into it - thanks! 4y
britt_brooke @Meaw_catlady Thanks! I‘ve read it, but I‘m not sure if my girls have. Might be a good option. 4y

britt_brooke @Megabooks Thanks, Meg! 4y
DaveGreen7777 Darkhouse is a YA ghost story, it‘s got a creepy atmosphere but no gore! 4y
Jgotham I liked Tana French‘s Broken Harbor or The Whisper Man 4y
Hooked_on_books I just finished this one and think it offers a lot for a book club to chew on. It‘s very engaging and has a terrifically chilling ending. 4y
MoonWitch94 @britt_brooke what did you guys choose??? 4y
britt_brooke @MoonWitch94 We haven‘t picked yet. I‘ve been slacking on getting the list to my group, but I‘ll tag you when we make a selection so you can see. 😊 4y

No reading tonight. We went to a nearby town where they perform the dance to Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller” a week before Halloween every year. This year they had almost 300 people dress up and dance through the middle of town. It was so cool!

Day 24 of #ChillingPhotoChallenge I debated using the song “Thriller” for today‘s prompt, but I couldn‘t think of anything else. So “Thriller” it will be.

#Scarathlon #TeamStoker @TheReadingMermaid

BeansPage Now I want to dance!!! 🧟‍♀️ 5y
AsYouWish @TheReadingMermaid I know, the song is now stuck in my head! 5y
BeansPage Do you know the dance sweetie? I memorized it for my wedding reception 😂😂😂 I can do it from start to finish. 5y

AsYouWish @TheReadingMermaid I know parts of it, but for a while there was a video on YouTube of someone dress as Scarecrow from the Batman movies doing the dance and it was my all time favorite video! 5y
BeansPage OMG is it still on there??? Do you have a link?? 5y
AsYouWish @TheReadingMermaid No! The person who posted it took it off, I was so sad when I could no longer find it, but it was amazing!!!! 5y

So I just found out about the #thrillerathon today which starts tomorrow and ends next week and I decided to throw caution to the wind and join in! Starting with Where The Missing Go by Emma Rowley!

If you're participating and on twitter and want to join a DM group, let me know! So far there are four of us :)

#friYAYintro @jess.how

1. Musicals like Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera...
2. I don't really care because they all have something nice to offer. LoL
3. Used to be I'd have said thrillers/horror, but I read across a lot of different genres pretty consistently these days.
4. Campbell's New England Clam Chowder and a Dr Pepper. (Went out of town today and treated myself to these which can't be purchased where I live.)
5. Okie dokie. 👍

MidnightBookGirl I love those soundtracks too! The Hubs and I consider Come What May one of our songs. I also have been listening a lot to the Heathers musical soundtrack. 7y
Sharpeipup I grew up in Texas so learning that you couldn't get Dr. Pepper everywhere was a big shock. (Fun fact: For years, I also thought it was coffee since that's what my Mom drank in the morning) 7y
monkeygirlsmama @MidnightBookGirl Never listened to Heathers. @Sharpeipup That's too funny about thinking it was coffee. 😹 7y

thewallflower0707 Musicals are Guilty Pleasure 😱? They are JUST PLEASURE. 7y
xicanti Now I wish I had some clam chowder. 7y
jillannjohn Somewhere without Dr. Pepper??!! That's tragic. 7y
monkeygirlsmama @jillannjohn Drawbacks of living in China. Haha 7y
hgrimes Where did my Litsy friend go off to? Hope you're all right!! 7y
monkeygirlsmama @hgrimes Awww ☺️❤️Thanks so much for thinking of me. Truth be told, it's been a hellacious couple of weeks and I simply didn't have it in me to even pick up a book let alone log in here. Prayerfully things are looking up now though, so I'm trying to catch back up on everything that went to the wayside in my absence. Lots of reading commitments I've fallen behind on as well, so gonna be a busy girl. But I'm back! 😊 7y
hgrimes @monkeygirlsmama Yay!! Let me guess - you're a teacher or work in a school of sorts? 7y
monkeygirlsmama @hgrimes You're not wrong (ESL teacher) on that front. Haha Though it wasn't related this time. Key words being THIS TIME. 😸 7y
hgrimes @monkeygirlsmama haha! I work in ed and am surprised I'm only a chapter behind on lotr and not an entire book all things considered. (An end to the crazy is in sight though.) I am glad things are calming down for you and you can get back to important things like books! 7y
