It‘s the beginning of a modern twist on the classic Greek myths. The story delves into the love between Hades and Persephone with the challenges they face along the way.

I‘ve been picking up Lore Olympus on and off for over a month and I think I keep putting my down because there are no page numbers. There is no sense of accomplishment with how much of it I read.
3 ⭐ I know this book has a large following. And I understand why. The artwork is amazing. I would read anything this author chooses to write and draw. There are so many books about Hades Persephone and Greek myth in general right now. And while I did like this story, and Hades Persephone is one of my favorite stories, I found the story hard to follow. There are trigger warnings in the beginning, which are helpful, but there‘s something
The end of an era! I loved this Webtoon and look forward to rereading in trade.
One of the best graphic novels on the market. So ready to read the rest of this series. 🏺
You know it‘s going to be good when both the cashier at Barnes and Noble and a random fellow customer tell you that you‘re going to love it.
Absolutely gorgeous art 😍 and I'm loving the characters so far, great retelling of the Greek gods

Rachel Smythe did a book stamping event at Comic Con last week.
My #staycation to Greece! Thank you so much @TheBookHippie for this beautiful package! And did you know that my last name is Greek (Kallas)! I love it all and making a margarita now that I‘m off work from the library!
After reading one book this morning, I‘m immediately crashed for 9 hours, so my impulsive 24 hour Readathon is going great 😂
Just devoured this after waking up, and I‘m hooked! Jumping straight into volume 2. #rushathon
I just know I‘m going to adore these, so I requested all four volumes 💙
Next up ➡️
Trying to read this lying on the bed it's quite an exercise.. it's a big and heavy book, literally!!

Most of the artwork is great, but some of the main characters look too similar, which makes it a little confusing at times. The story is a modernized take on the Hades/Persephone myth, but not necessarily an original plot.

Omg, I'm loving this series, it's hilarious. Finishing up Vol I then straight into Vol II.
They‘re Greek gods. NOBODY is trustworthy 😂😳🤨🫢 @dabbe #themedthursday
WEBTOON FRIENDS!🎙️
What are your favourite series‘ and why!?
I‘ll go first!
- Lore Olympus (obviously! And it‘s listed on Litsy!)💙💗
- The Guy Upstairs 🔪🩸
- Down to Earth🪐💫💚 (I LOVE Kade & Zaida!)
What a fun twist on Greek mythology! The story is not light (there are definitely adult themes including SA) but the way the author deals with the subject matter feels organic. I love the art and especially the color work. Also, Zeus answers the phone with “Ahoy hoy.” It‘s so dumb. I love it. #pop23 #bookwithalovetriangle
Book 29📚 5⭐️
Absolutely loving this series💕
But fuck Apollo🖕🏻Twat.
2/2 And this is the rest of January! #MonthInReview #January Reads
My Stats:
39 books Read
7 phyical/ebooks
32 audiobooks
4 DNFs
1/2 Part one of my #MonthInReview for #JanuaryReads. I got a lot of reading done, and as you can see, I wasn't afraid to DNF when books weren't working for me. I was very excited to read Susanna Hoff's first novel (it comes out in April I think), because I am a huge Bangles fan. I also read a lot of romance and holiday stories- but that's what popped up in my audiobook library holds. TBC...
My final read of January is in the books! (Pun intended.)
This is a gorgeous graphic novel, made from a webcomic of the same name. The art is both bright and dark, playing off itself in interesting ways, and the story is compelling. I love Greek mythology and found myself asking “wait, is that REALLY what happened?!?” — as if any of it REALLY happened. 😂
I desperately need a day to stay in my pajamas, drink some comforting warm beverages, and read! My goal is to make Sunday that day...so consider this an accountability post. 😄
I picked up the tagged book at the library today. I'm looking forward to sinking into it, as well as finishing up my current non-fiction read, tagged below.
Everyone tells me I should read this, because I love Persephone and retellings of the Hades/Persephone story. I tried to read it online and struggled, but thought it was the format, so figured I‘d try again when it came out in print. I still don‘t like it at all! I think the art style is ill-suited for the medium and I don‘t like the characters or how they are modernized from the myths. Just not for me.
Set up my #Pantone2023 challenge on PicMoney. So far I got #PinkCosmos for the tagged book. @Clwojick
So, I just loved this comic series so far. I have the next one ordered, and I am waiting for it to be ready to send. But I love the artwork, and its a cute story. I see where people are upset with the “gods behaving badly,“ trope but I am a bit removed from it as I haven't read a lot or mytholody stuff recently.

Not sure how I feel about this book... Not a book crush, not impressed. I guess I'm on the fence. I'll read the rest of the series to see how I stand.
Having a blue and pink graphic novel moment! Paper Girls is trippy in a way I want to keep reading; Lore Olympus plays into my long term love of less sketchy Hades/Persephone retellings but be aware there is an author-provided warning in the front of the book for content. Paper Girls has some period typical (though thankfully challenged on page) homophobia. Both stories touch on challenging misogyny/girls/women standing up for other females.
I‘m not totally sold on the story, but I love Persephone and Hades. I like the art and coloring, but I hate Apollo. So. Much. I‘m also saturated with “gods behaving badly”, but that isn‘t the fault of the author/this book. I clearly need a break from mythology retellings. But after I find out if Apollo gets his comeuppance in a future volume.
@IndoorDame any of these look good. I do have more. And I do have vol 1 of Mickey it‘s just not on that shelf.
I enjoyed my reread of this before jumping into Vol 2. The coloring really brings this story to life and does a great job of marrying the old vision of Olympus with the modern day.
This was so beautifully drawn. Seriously loved it. I like mythology, so any take on that can be pretty interesting, so this did not disappoint. I had initially picked it up because the bookseller saw I was eying it and told me .. girl get it! Ha. She was right! Thank you --- whoever you were.

This was recommended to me by a fellow Litsy reader and so I picked it up the other day. This story was so cute and the artwork is so fun! Love this take on the Hades/Persephone story!
I love a good theme read weekend! Sometimes you just need to escape into a graphic novel read!
This was an utter delight! Beautifully illustrated. 5⭐
Reading and relaxing with my favorite baby today! 🐶🐾 #dogsoflitsy #randrsunday
This collection of episodes 1-25 from Smythe's web comic tells the story of Persephone and Hades in a thoroughly modern setting, with gorgeous artwork.

Loved this!! So glad I added it in to end Dewey‘s for me and can‘t wait for volume 2!!
