#roll100 had high hopes for this one, and it starts wrong, very Annihilation-esque. It just fell a bit flat for me, a bit slow and no real explanation of events. I would have liked some flashbacks to explain how planet Earth had got to this point. I do think it would make a good film though!

I finished this last week but I‘m behind in reviews. Read for #MonthlyNonFiction it was also one of my April #Roll100 picks (#16 Any Non-Fiction). It was an interesting juxtaposition to read this book while watching random famous people try to pass themselves off as astronauts & having Nancy Drew solve a mystery with exploding oranges at Cape Canaveral. I remember being in class (college) in the morning when they wheeled in a tv & ⬇️
This is the follow-up to The Road to Dalton that we read in the #EuropaCollective reading group on Litsy.
This second installment is just as good and it‘s a pleasure to spend some more time with the inhabitants of Dalton, Maine. Five years after Bridget‘s death, her absence is still palpable in the community.
I am looking forward to what will happen next with some of the characters.
This is my #Roll100 read!
I adore Jenny Colgan books. The setting & characters in Mure are just fantastic. Wonderfully written & perfectly imperfect & real.
This was a rolled #Roll100 book for me this month & it‘s also on my #readyourebooks list.
With this completed read I also completed my April #BookSpinBingo board. 🤓

So April has been a rough reading month, so I am mixing things up for May. It‘s my birthday month so I want to give myself more freedom. So I have 10 planned reads-due to #roll100, book clubs and just high interest. Then I will aim to read from the library, a BOTM pick, an ARC, some KU picks and some audiobooks I own. Should be fun!
I‘ve been aware of this book for a while and finally decided to pick it up. I‘m glad I did. I really enjoyed it. These are mostly stories of hope and of how people fought oppression and won. I teared up on more than one occasion from something beautiful that happened. Thank you to our queer elders for sharing your story, and to Mason Funk for collecting and safeguarding them. #LGBTQIA #History
This was one of my #Roll100 picks recently.
