#roll100 Creepy AF. This was a slow burn for me but I DEVOURED the back half and it really creeped me out, would make an interesting film or series IMO

I never got to my October recap nor have I finished all my October reviews but I wanted to get this posted finally. Finished 16 books & a short story, started one more & got further in Women Who Run With the Wolves (I‘m still way behind).

The simple concept in this ghostly novel - getting stuck in a liminal space between life and death - was evoked in such perfect, creepy detail that it kept me engaged even as the plot crawled along slowly for the first 2/3 of the novel. It reminded me of those days where everything feels a little surreal and dreamlike for reasons that are hard to describe. Not the outright scary Halloween read I was hoping for, but great atmosphere and characters.

Fun read. Enjoyed being introduced to Auntie Poldi and her family.

#roll100 absolutely bloody loved this! I love a novel where not much happens other than families family-ing - also some very very funny moments! A good read whilst I‘m enjoying a week off in the Lake District!

This was a fun quick horror/thriller read about the most extreme escape room ever. It reminds me of the movie 13 Ghosts. If you enjoyed that (I did!) you will enjoy this one too! It also has a very wild third act. 4.5⭐️

I realized while filling out my November #bookspinbingo board that I had The Correspondent on the list twice, so I did a quick swap and slotted in a MG horror title. I still have a fair amount of horror in general---carryover from October---which is just fine by me. I left my #roll100 titles for free spaces.

1.6⭐️ yep… I‘m done. Technically I finished the first two stories of this set, so I‘m not gonna say DNF… Just choosing not to finish the series. I can‘t, it makes me cringe. In book once she writes about a romance author, who has no experience with sex, so the sex scene suck… Almost feel like she was talking about herself. They‘re cold and distant and forced. That would be fine if there was a plot worth reading, which there is not. #Roll100

1.4⭐️ I finished it, so when I guess. This is only Book one out of this four book series that I have for my #Roll100 and I don‘t know how I‘m gonna get through the next three. I know it‘s a short story so everything has gotta happen fast, but the Insta love is sickening. He‘s literally telling his so-called best friend two hours after meeting this girl that shes the one. And that quote with the picture, six hours in. 🤞 for the next three.
