Here is my tbr for August, which I am also using for #BookSpin and #ReadOrDonate 🌞
@TheAromaofBooks @julieclair
For July, we read The Tempest Breaker. I'm still reading it. How did y'all like it?
In August, our book is Into The Light. It's time to enjoy some teenage Jedi drama.
As always, if anyone wants to be added or removed, just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🚀
#StarWarsBuddyRead
My favorite book for July was When The Wolf Comes Home, but the current bracket winner is The Shining 🖤
#BookBracket2025 @Catsandbooks
In July I read 10 books. My favorites were Death of the Author, Love At Second Sight, Weave the Liminal, and When the Wolf Comes Home 🐺
I loved the twists in this book. It's a good mix of Firestarter and Lathe of Heaven.
Jess is having a bad night at her work, but when she gets home, she finds a scared little boy, and there is a werewolf after them 🐺
#WickedWords #rooftop @AsYouWish
In this book Laura Tempest Zakroff discusses her path and how to weave old traditions with modern witchcraft. I loved it 🦉
#Pantone2025 #magicalforest @Lauredhel
I love these novels. In this one, the First Doctor meets the Twelveth Doctor, a lost WWI captain and a mysterious Glass Woman. Both of the Doctors are struggling with regeneration, and the best part is that we finally get to find out what happened to Bill after she was rescued from the cybermen 💙
This was a weird book, and it had a rather oppressive feel to it.
Cassie breaks up with her girlfriend, abandons her job, and heads back to her father's house. There, she runs into her high school best friend, Eli. He is recently widowed and very quickly. They catch up. He ends up married, and she ends up in big trouble
#Pantone2025 #winterberry #wispyclouds @Lauredhel
I loved this book. Lukens is an autobuy author for me.
Cam has a best friend, Al, who is a witch and a crush on a werewolf named Mateo. He thinks that he is a normal human until one day at school, he has a vision of a murder. Now him and his friends are trying to stop it, while the supernatural community tries to get Cam to join with them, and he is busy hiding his new powers from his parents.
This is a rather boring book. It's about Barton Dawes a man whose house is about to be turned into a highway. He doesn't handle it well, infact he goes nuts 🚧
#LosersClub @BarkingMadRead #Pantone2025 #bronzemist @Lauredhel
I enjoyed this one, even though it was really long.
Amy Dorrit is born in a debtors prison. There she spends her time taking care of her delusional father and trying to wrangle her siblings. And then her fortune changes 🩶

This is a rather boring retelling of Carmilla. The ending was good though.

I loved this book and gave it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
On the outside, this book is about a paraplegic author writing her first big novel while dealing with her family and herself, and then there are the robots 🤖

This is one of the legends stories about Obi-Wan coming to live on Tatooine.
I loved it. Obi-Wan is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters 🧡

In June, we visited Kenobi on Tatooine as he became Ben. I'm still reading it, but so far, I'm loving it. How did y'all like it.
Now, in July, we are back in the High Republic with Lourna Dee, Avar Kriss, & Keeve Trennis. That combo is going to be entertaining.
As always, if anyone wants to be added or removed, just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🚀 #StarWarsBuddyRead
I only got to four books for June. My favorite was Wild Dark Shore.
I loved this book. Rowan washes up on Shearwater Island and is rescued by Dom and his family. There are tons of secrets, missing scientists, whales, a dying seed bank, and a family collapsing. This was written in an almost eco dystopian way as a reminder of how bad global warming is getting and how potentially screwed we are 🧡
#CampLitsy25 @squirrelbrain @Megabooks @BarbaraBB #Pantone2025 #thunderstorm @Lauredhel #WickedWords #beach @AsYouWish
This is a weird book. And it is about how cats tamed us. However, I think it's rather hard on cats, and I refuse to believe that Druzy's only interest in me is that I feed her. The historical parts are rather fascinating. The little cat in the corner is the felis silvestris lybica, the most direct ancestor of the housecat. Unlike dog breeds, different cat breeds are the result of breeding mutations, not different ancestors 🐈
This was a good book and I loved the twists at the end. Olivia is a writer having trouble with her next book when she gets an offer to help find the true story behind Rebecca and if Daphne DuMaurier really wrote it.

This book was just too weird, the characters were really unlikable and I still don't understand what happened 🤷🏼♀️
But I did have fun with the discussions.

Now, however, I'm home, comfortable, watching Doctor Who and working on the #SummerCardSwap

For May, we read about teenage Obi-Wan. I enjoyed a hormonal Kenobi. How did y'all like it?
For June, we have adult Obi-Wan who has recently been exiled on Tatooine. I'm looking forward to this one.
As always, if anyone wants to be added or removed, just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🚀 #StarWarsBuddyRead
For May I read 6 books. My favorites were The Long Walk, The Unworthy, and The Resurrectionist 🧡
I loved this book. James goes to Edinburgh to study to become a doctor. There, he gets into enough financial trouble that he starts body snatching with Aneurin and his gang for the surgeon he's studying for. And then they run into Burke and Hare 🖤

This is one of my favorite of King's books. I can't wait to see the movie this September.
Set in a dystopian America, 100 boys are chosen for the long walk, where they walk until only one is left. If they stop, if they try to leave, if they are too injured to continue, they are shot dead. Ray has signed up to be in the walk. How far will he get? It's so bleak but so engaging 🖤

So Sarah is back. She is now married to Bob, and they have a daughter. Things were going well until Bob cheated, and her first husband's guilt was questioned. Now, all hell is about to break loose again.

This was a fun read. Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon aren't really getting along. So when Obi-Wan finds Orla Jareni's note about a mysterious planet in the Jedi archives, he wants to go explore it. Qui-Gon agrees but then doesn't show up to leave, so Obi-Wan breaks the rules & goes on his own. There, he finds a bunch of kids struggling to survive on their own.
Loved Zae-Brii the nonbinary shapeshifter 🩵
#StarWarsBuddyRead
#Pantone2025 #rumrasin @Lauredhel
I love this book, but I forgot how bleak it is. Andrew, a British serial killer, fakes his own death and ends up in New Orleans, where he meets Jay, another serial killer. Together, they team up to find their next victim 🖤
Warnings: lots of them, and for those who have read Brite's books, then you mostly know what you're in for.
#ReadYourKindle @CBee (March)
#Pantone2025 #eclipse @Lauredhel
I loved this weird dystopian horror novel. The narrator is a member of the Sacred Sisterhood convent a group that believes in undergoing pain and suffering for their God. The narrator is obsessed with writing down her story in ink, blood, whatever she can find. She also believes in going along with the Sisterhood until she meets Lucia, the newest member. Then things get more interesting 🖤
Warnings: for almost anything you can think of.
In April, we returned to the beginning of the Empire. I really enjoyed it. What did y'all think?
Now, for May, we meet up with Obi-Wan while he is still a padawan to Qui-Gon. This should be entertaining.
As always, if anyone wants to be added or removed, just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always 🚀
#StarWarsBuddyRead
I read five books in April. My favorites were The Buffalo Hunter Hunter and Go Luck Yourself.
Great idea, but poorly executed. Christine's husband has recently died, so she & her son decide to celebrate Christmas in the cabin that her husband had rented before he died. When they get there, things go bad in so many ways.
Warnings for a brutal pet death & for an ambiguous ending. Numerous parts of this book don't add up 🤷🏼♀️

Palpatine has just started his reign, and the Jedi have been exterminated as traitors. Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera are trying to handle the fall out in their own ways. This is the beginning before the rebellion officially forms. It's also the beginning of a trilogy, and I can't wait for the next two 💙

@TheAromaofBooks @julieclair
This was a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read for me. It was amazing. The audiobook was so well done. It's not the easiest read, though.
This is an American Indian revenge story. It's raw, watch the trigger warnings, and is very visceral. It's told through diary entries & voice recordings. A failing academic Etsy receives her great great grandfather's diary detailing his past with the Blackfoot vampire Good Stab.
#Pantone2025 #moonbeam @Lauredhel
I loved this book. It's the sequel to The Nightmare Before Kissmas, which was also fantastic.
Kris (the younger prince of Christmas) played a nasty but funny joke on Lochlann (the prince of St. Patrick's Day) and is then sent there to apologize. And they fall for each other 💚🌈💚
This book was just okay mostly because even for horror, some of the story was a bit much.
Mina, a child psychologist, is contacted by Sam, a paranormal investigator, to help with his investigation of Alice, a girl who is rumored to be possessed. The investigation soon starts to take a more siniter turn.

Here is the schedule for the rest of the year for #StarWarsBuddyRead
May Padawan by Kirsten White, June Legends Kenobi by John Jackson Miller, July Tempest Breaker by Cavan Scott, August Into The Light by Claudia Gray, Sept. A Valiant Vow by Justina Ireland, Oct. Trials of the Jedi by Charles Soule, Nov. The Acolyte Wayseeker by Justina Ireland & Dec. Master of Evil by Adam Christopher 🚀
So this is what this year has come to, a pessimistic fortune cookie 🥠 🤦🏼♀️🥠
Here are my picks for #ReadYourKindle
Hopefully, this month, I'll actually get to some of them 🤦🏼♀️

My favorite book for March was The Lost Bookshop, but moving on to the 2nd bracket will be The Shining 🖤
