Great discussion for this month‘s book, #LittenDetectives ! It seems we‘re all in agreement about the over the top nature of the Ivory Charm.

December‘s book varies greatly between the versions, but both contain…wait for it…a whispering statue. Let‘s hope this one is a bit less convoluted.

Discussion on December 15th. All are welcome to join. Please comment is you wish to be added or removed from the tag list! #NancyDrewBR

DGRachel Here‘s hoping this one is better since my library doesn‘t have it, so I‘ll have to buy it. 🤞🏻 1w

Ruthiella Sounds like it‘s going to be a little supernatural in theme… 👻 1w
Bookwormjillk Just put a hold on the library ebook. I‘m glad they have it. I think I prefer the later versions to the 1930‘s versions. 1w

Nancy tackles 2 mysteries at once-the theft of valuable rare books, and theft of a beautiful marble statue - a whispering statue. She faces danger at every turn and tries to camouflage herself with a black wig, and big glasses. Spooky.

Art thieves, swindlers, and hidden identities! Another classic Nancy Drew mystery.

For Nancy‘s newest case requires her to go undercover. I kinda like this particular option they came up with as her new identity…

In view of my new attempt to have my Litsy account better reflect the breadth of what I‘ve actually been reading, I‘m including a little blurb on my latest Nancy Drew. I can‘t believe I never got into these when I was younger. They‘re simplistic, but fun and light-hearted, and a great palate cleanser between other fare.

#7days7books

7 days of books that left a lasting impression and changed me.

Nancy Drew introduced me to the world of “chapter books” as a young girl. The idea of a book this long with very few or no pictures was daunting, but as soon as I started reading I was hooked. I borrowed so many of this series from my school library, starting with the tagged book. I have just a few in my home library. I‘d love to find some more!

Thanks for the tag!

Ncostell I also grew up reading Nancy Drew books and have held on to my copies from my childhood. I still love mysteries and attribute that to my early love of Nancy Drew. 5y
erzascarletbookgasm I read these too! 👍 5y

Much better than the previous book in the series! Nancy and Co are up to their usual tricks in this one, plus disguises, sailing mishaps, and art forgeries.

Can Nancy solve both mysteries? Of course she can!

Number 14 for #nancydrewchallenge done!

The House was furnished with beautiful #tapestry drapes, oriental rugs, and fine furniture. On the walls of the room off the center hall were many valuable paintings. Graceful pieces of statuary on pedestals added to the artistic decor.

RaimeyGallant I just found out there was never a woman named Carolyn Keene. It was a pseudonym from the get-go. 7y
Sace @RaimeyGallant you might be interested in Girl Sleuth. It's all about the series and the woman who was Carolyn Keene. 7y

Sace It's a shame we can't like posts multiple times because I would like this 14 times. I just love Nancy Drew. 7y
RaimeyGallant @RestlessFickleBookSlut You're right! I am interested. But it's staying off my tbr until after the book swap. :) 7y
Laura317 I think I‘ll go back and do a re-read of my set next year. I always wanted to be Nancy Drew. 7y
