I love this book. This is the first of the Pendergast novels. A monster goes crazy and starts killing people in a museum. The monster's reveal at the end is one of the best.
Also I've dnfed about 5 books this month and needed a palette cleanser. This book worked perfectly 💚

Pendergast gateway book. I loved this book. It creeped me out. I read it years ago.
I wish this series was more creepy supernatural and less angsty lovelorn Pendergast.
I liked him as a possibly supernatural super hero good guy solving interesting & occasionally archeological related books in an action/adventure.
This particular book is a turtle back editions… a teeny weenie little hardcover LOL LOVE IT!!
Thanks for the tag @MoonWitch94 @TheRiehlDeal & @kspenmoll 😺
1- Typically I don't like them.
2- Bookmarks, especially the magnetic ones.
3- The Pendergast series by Preston and Child, tagged is the first book Relic.
I tag everyone who hasn't participated yet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Enjoyed this book. Bodies are showing up at the Museum of Natural History and no one knows why. There seems to be a monster on the prowl.
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
1. How about I rank them from most reached for to least?
Thriller (usually some horror elements)
Mystery
Horror (used to be my #1, not much lately)
True crime
2. Relic, The Shining, The Ruins or The Exorcist. I‘ve read a lot of gross or gory books but true creeps came from these 4, maybe because I was alone reading at night in the dark ... BOO!
Thank you @The_Penniless_Author 🤗
I think I‘m going to start this series over from the beginning! Loved it as a teenager! Let‘s see what adult me thinks...
@Butterfinger Here is the order of the Pendergast novels. I have Relic, a gift from @MaleficentBookDragon for a Litsy swap, which I‘ve yet to read. So I am reading them out of order, reading Two Graves for #Brazil. It‘d probably be a very good idea to read them in order because there appears to be a lot of back story. I thought it was the first in the series because that‘s how they‘re listed in Two Graves. Oh well. Relic is definitely next.
Karen, thank you for the lovely card. It made my day.
#allhollowsreadswap I hope you like Relic as much as I do,
#litsylove
Words can‘t describe how excited I am to get Relic! Although I‘m nervous that it says it will scare the hell out of me! Would be perfect for #scarathlon but I‘d never finish it in time. And what a lovely surprise to get the Bloody Chamber book! Thank you for all the goodies too @MaleficentBookDragon !! What a wonderful #allhallowsreadswap!!!
I'm 6 books in on the stack that I brought on holiday - out of 24, because variety is required.
I ordered Relic. 😐 this is not right.
I feel I am being judged by a book seller.🤣
#3Books set in NYC
I also recommend them for #scarathlon2020 #hauntedhallowswap #allhallowreadswap #basicwitchswap
All read and enjoyed. Relic and Rosemary‘s Baby are two of my all time favorites.

This is probably one of my absolute favorite series. The books are so engrossing, that although usually 400-500 pages, they fly by. Agent Aloysius Pendergast of the FBI is unlike any FBI agent you‘ve ever come across. He is mysterious, complex and enigmatic with an interesting family dynamic.
#TBRChallenge #AudioBook #ABookThats
This was a delightfully dark and daring romp through the New York Museum of Natural History. Pendergast does somewhat steal the show with his steely confidence and southern charms, but Margo, Frock and Smithback hold there own.
The monster was a constant looming threat and it never really felt like we were safe from its influence, which really helped to hold a constant sense of suspense.

Finally, after all the fuss of lockdown and getting back to working in the office, I've been able to start unpacking my books into my little library/home office... now I just need to get my shelves put back together and get them loaded! Nothing like an #AudioBook to make DIY less stressful 😊
And I think my spider plants like their new space!🌿🌱🌼
This was pretty good, but it didn‘t blow me away. I know this is a popular series, so I assume it improves as you get further along. It had some really creepy parts, so I‘m definitely continuing the series.

Day 5 Book 5 Relic
We present here 7 books that will always remain in our minds, because they touched us so much, changed us.
No further comments!
Bk14 of March is done. I know I should be reading off my #MountTBRShelvesOfDoom for the #MarchUnshelfing #challenge, but I couldn‘t resist reading the 1st page of this and then I got hooked. It‘s now 7am Saturday and I haven‘t been to sleep yet.It was so worth it,this was fabulous. Horrible murders start happening in NY Museum Of Natural History which seem to be done by something part animal. Agent Pendergast & Curator Margo Green are on the hunt.
Bk1 of my #QuarantineLibraryHaul is the 1st book in the Pendergast series by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child.I‘ve always meant to read this but never got around to it,guess this is a good time to catch up on old thriller/mystery series while the world stops. Our government is apparently announcing a shutdown for at least 2weeks tonight. The hubby went to the shops today & said they‘re deserted & most make you sanitise you‘re hands before entering😷
One of my favorite series is Preston & Child's Pendergast novels. This is the first one, Relic, which is about a monster loose in a museum. I really enjoyed rereading this 🖤
#Jennyis30 #politics
Museum politics are almost more frightening that the monster 🤦🏼♀️
@jenniferw88
Creepy, sardonic, and wonderfully terrifying. An absolute must for any fan of both crime and horror.
This was my first introduction to the writing duo of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. While I loved the genre of mystery and aspects of something more out there, I wasn‘t too impressed with this book. Don‘t get me wrong, it pulled me in enough to ensure that I would go in to read every book that they‘ve written. But my thoughts were that in certain parts of the book it felt as if the idea of the characters hadn‘t gelled. Who was the hero?
It was good. A bit too much like Jurassic Park for my taste. Nothing wrong with JP, just not what I was looking for with this story.
Continuing for my catch up of #30junebooks. Relic was my introduction to Preston and Child. I loved it. But as most of you know, I‘m a huge Jurassic Park fan as well.
#day5 #greenbooks
I loved this book. I can see why it‘s compared to Jurassic Park. It does have that kind of feel to it, but in a different way. I haven‘t seen the movie based on it so I can‘t say how it compares. All I know is that I can‘t wait to read more of the Pendergast series.
I was looking at goodreads and realized how much I‘ve read this month. NINE BOOKS! To be fair, a few of them were very short. Of course by short I mean 160-200 pages. I‘m about to start this. It will definitely carry into the new year, as I‘m making dinner and dessert for tomorrow and won‘t have much time to read!
You may want to stay out of the New York Museum of Natural History for this exhibition! You have been warned! ☠️
#Museum #AugustIsATrip
This is my first Preston and Child book! I‘ve decided to start expanding genres and am really enjoying it so far! This book was awesome and a really fun suspenseful read!
It‘s impossible to pick just one title but for @bookriot Day 3 #favoritetitle #riotgrams I managed to pick four which was not easy!
I loved the way it was written! I was absorbed by all the characters and the way they interacted.
Thanks @laundry_piles for the lend, took me a while to get into it but after around 100 pages I did get lost in it!
I think I‘m going to like this series!
There's a lot to love about this even blend of techno-thriller and sci-fi horror, including an exhilarating final act and the introduction of a certain, magnetic, Southern FBI agent.
@Redjewel_7734 tagged me for this one.
1. Pendergast series by Preston and Child
2. Clue
3. Sapphire Blue
4. Creme Brûlée (or butter cake with chocolate buttercream)
5. Bleeding Hearts

I'm getting tired but am waiting for kid to get home from a show. #24in48 - There were a few plot holes in this one but I liked it.
Grocery shopping done. Staked out a shady spot to read while kids keep swimming. #24in48 #summerreading
