Another unorthodox therapy story. Like it so far. I feel like this is a huge trend in the last few years. I think these authors even have another story like that.

I got half way through and put it down lol
Got boring to me.
Love this duo always and all of their books. This was another one that I could not put down. I actually did not guess the twist until I was right at the end which I loved and I thought this was so well written with how everything just came together and worked. I really thought the ending could not have been better than what it was. Loved this book!
Fun read. Enough twists, turns and red herrings that even if you think you know the ending you can‘t really be sure.
Marissa and Matthew bishop appear to have the perfect life, until Marissa has an affair. Together, they go to recently unlicensed therapist, Avery. This thriller was so entertaining I was captivated through every twist and turn

Started this and finished it in one day! Such a fun read for a long 6 1/2 drive from AR to LA. I loved the characters and the subtle twist!

Another enjoyable, twisty thriller from this writing duo. The whole way through I had the undercurrent thoughts that there was more to the story than what I was picking up. I liked all of the characters having their own secrets and how their secrets were slowly revealed to us, with some unexpected twists along the way that kept me interested in reading more. It‘s an enjoyable multi layered thriller.

I'm creating a new genre: Therapist Thrillers. If you donโt read a lot of thrillers, this will be a great book that will entertain you. You might even give it five stars. But, if you are like me and read a ton of thrillers, I would call it a little predictable and lackluster. I still plowed through it and enjoyed the journey.
Not bad for a therapist thriller.
I don‘t read a lot of this genre, mainly because they tend to annoy me, but this one came for postal book club. I ended up listening instead, but I enjoyed this book. It‘s filled with the kind of characters I expected (rich, self-absorbed, hard to believe, and totally unlikable), but it‘s twisty and definitely kept me guessing. Just when I thought it was done throwing me curveballs, it threw a few more just for the hell of it. ๐

I don't have a whole lot to say about this one, other than it was a pretty good read, and kept me guessing.
Starting this one! Who‘s read it?
I‘m loving these authors!! All 3 of these are great!

I have a few quibbles about this but they're minor and I was interested in the characters and plot from start to finish. Overall I enjoyed this story about a "rogue therapist" and a charmed couple whose marriage she is trying to save. It seemed like there were a lot of of excess characters, and even excess plot lines, but everything was tied up relatively neatly at the end.
The tagged is my favorite book by these authors!!

4th book read during #JubilantJuly Readathon @Andrew65 I liked this thriller? It has more elements of suspense and mystery. Hard to believe that a therapist with her licensed revoked can continue working as a โconsultantโ using her unique therapeutic model. But I still liked how the story was developed. All characters are unlikely but Avery has an interesting personality. Go blind to this story. Need to read more from these authors 3.8/4โบ๏ธ
This spectacular duo does it again with another captivating thriller! They have a way of exceeding my expectation each time in the end with a plot twist I never expect. I not only recommend this book but all four they have written together!
I always like this writing duo‘s thrillers! So a couple comes to an unlicensed therapist with unorthodox (but effective) methods to try to save their marriage. But as you might imagine, nothing is as it seems! I totally fell for everything the authors want you to fall for, and I loved it. A fast and satisfying read that I finished poolside with my family. ๐
Decided I wanted to go to B&N and do the BOGO 50% offโฆ starting the Golden Couple now after picking it up at the sale. ๐ #jubilantjuly
I was very underwhelmed by this one. It had a lot of potential to be a really good story but there was no time I was really interested/concerned about the couple. I loved Avery‘s story and her practice methods but we didn‘t really get to see most of them play out because everything came out pretty quickly and easily. None of the twist or events were really attention grabbing the end and even that worked itself out pretty quickly.
Really quality domestic thriller. Pekkanen/Hendricks take on โpsychoโ therapists once again, this time couples therapy.
Matthew &Marissa‘s marriage is upended after an infidelity. They see a therapist -well, she was recently stripped of her license-who uses unconventional methods. She suspects there is more than 1 secret in her clients‘ marriage,& she has some of her own.I wondered how it was going to make sense, by Part 3 my jaw was dropped.

1/2 way through and I‘m enjoying this more than the other 2 I‘ve read by them. I have no idea what‘s going to happen ๐
Book #38 of 2022, fast paced thriller. Never knew what was going to happen next. One of my top five reads so far this year!
๐ The Golden Couple, The House in the Cerulean Sea are the only two that come to mind

Whoa. What a story. There were twists and turns I never expected and I never saw ANY of this coming. A definite must read!
Definitely a slow burn but it had enough unanswered questions to keep me interested. The suspense didn‘t come until the final few chapters. Not my fave from these authors but still enjoyable.
Finishing this book gave me a bingo! #bookspinbingo
I liked this one. The biggest plot twist was predictable, but the other smaller ones were a big surprise. I couldn't stop reading. I would love to read a novella from just Avery's perspective. She seems... invested... like obsessively invested.

Mini Review: I enjoyed this one. Although it did flash through my mind briefly...I didn't really think the big reveal would actually be that. It creeps me out when I start wondering: "Can you ever really know someone?"

An enjoyable enough listen, but not very memorable, original, or surprising. ๐ง
Another book this week that kept me up reading! I was skeptical about how gripping a story could be about a couple and their unconventional therapist, but I did not expect the number of twists and turns and where it all led. This was my first book by these authors although I own a few, and I‘m so excited to read more. It had my heart racing, and I loved the audiobook narrator as she had the perfect tone that had me leaning in for more.
This is one of the best thrillers I‘ve read this year. If you like psychological mysteries that will keep you guessing, this book is perfect for you. 5-stars
From the Publisher:
If Avery Chambers can‘t fix you in 10 sessions, she won‘t take you on as a client. Her successes are phenomenalโshe helps people overcome everything from domineering parents to assaultโand almost absorb the emptiness she sometimes feels since her husband‘s death.
A lot happened while I read this (my oldest graduated from college!), so it took me a while to read. And because of that, I kept forgetting who some minor characters were. Overall I liked it, but I‘ll probably read it again in a few years with no memory of having already read it.
Ehh... that is how I feel about this book. Don't live it, don't hate it just ehh.
#atticus2016 #SirWatson these two look like the golden couple but this picture was taken about a minute before that big red ball was dropped on the cat and the fight began.
Well snap, here I thought I had it all figured out but I was quite wrong. This was such a great novel, twisting and turning. Run, don‘t walk to pick this one up (or download it). Excuse me while I go deal with the book hangover I now have. Book #29 in 2022
I really enjoyed this one, the twists and turns had me guessing all the way to the end! So happy to have read it!
