This was a rather lovely little graphic novel set in a magical Benin-inspired fantasy world.

With Okupe being Nigerian, that's a wrap on the Formidable Reading Challenge! #urc2025 #URC @Faranae #frc #frc2025

I've put all the other prompts into a grid for the Ultimate Reading Challenge - and have only three to go there.

Faranae Oh wow! Congrats on the first official completion of the FRC2025! Looks like you read lots of good stuff for it. 4w

Help a Litten out! I'm wanting to get back into reading challenges this year but I'm having a hard time figuring out what Litsy is hosting these days. It looks like a few I used to do aren't active anymore. Are there any I should know about? (I'm planning to do #bookspin with @TheAromaofBooks and #agathachristieclubR3 with @Librarybelle, of course!)

Picture of my dog's dumb teeth for tax!

TheAromaofBooks I'm participating in - #Pantone2025 and #FourFoursin25 with @lauredhel
- #WickedWords with @AsYouWish
- #Roll100 and #GottaCatchEmAll with @PuddleJumper
- #FictionalTraveler and #ReadorDonate with @julieclair
and my own other challenges, #ISpyBingo and #BookChain

Have you checked @LitsyEvents ? That account does a great job reposting all kinds of shenanigans!!

Ruthiella You can follow @LitsyEvents for reposts of all the challenges, etc. Good luck! 😃 7mo
AmyG There is #authoramonth @soubhiville where one reads 1+ books from that specific author for the month. #TBRTarot is where a card is chosen and you pick a corresponding book. #readyourkindle is like Bookspin but just for ereaders. Last two are with @Cbee (edited) 7mo

Texreader And #litsyatoz that I‘m hosting. 7mo

MatchlessMarie When I have been away from Litsyland for a while I like to check out the @LitsyEvents page for most current things. But this is a great time of year to get back into them. It‘s hard to miss challenges since we are all abuzz with New Year wishful thinking 😂 7mo
TheAromaofBooks @Librarybelle - I will be so excited to tackle another long-term project!! I actually think I'm going to complete #192025 which is pretty thrilling! 7mo
Librarybelle That‘s so cool, @TheAromaofBooks ! I still have a bit to go but need to tally up my readings from the last half of 2024. I love the long term challenges! 7mo
julieclair @LeahBergen I think it‘s more of a “wishful thinking” list! 😂 7mo
LeahBergen @julieclair I think you‘re right. 😆 7mo

Repost for @Faranae

The #URC2025 is finally here! Read 52 books in 2025 using the prompts. Tag me if you read a book for it. I review all the books participants read each year!

52 makes for terrible bingo cards, so I don't make those, but there are more graphics and links to a Google sheet and StoryGraph challenge on my blog https://harpgriffinbooks.wordpress.com/2025/01/01/happy-new-year-2025/

Faranae Forgot to tag @LitsyEvents 7mo
Lauredhel I'm gonna be haunting that Storygraph for a book with a petrol station on the cover...
7mo
Faranae @Lauredhel Oh absolutely the same here. I can think of at least one creepypasta horror from last year's blog reviews, if I get truly desperate. 7mo

Lauredhel @Faranae I did some hefty searching last night and found 7mo
Faranae @Lauredhel I'll stick to the creepypasta for now, it has a hot ghost cowboy in the restroom who is never explained. 😂 7mo
Lauredhel @Faranae you drop “hot ghost cowboy“ and not the title? 7mo
Faranae @Lauredhel Warning that it's not good writing (it's creepypasta after all) but it's a lot more fun than quite a lot of other horror. It's sort of a store-brand Welcome to Nightvale. 7mo
Lauredhel @Faranae I love WTNV, thank you 7mo
Lauredhel @Faranae I'll keep that on my TBR, but I just accidentally read a book with a gas station right on the cover! It was pretty good, too - a graphic memoir by a guy who was kidnapped by his mother when he was a young teen. Content notes for some (not depicted) CSA, death of older family members, religious manipulation and trauma (Mormon), mental health, child neglect, but mostly with a fairly light touch

7mo
Faranae @Lauredhel Oh excellent find! Thank you! 7mo
