My husband bought these old books for me. I see a new obsession in the making. I just love them so much!

I‘m not sure I‘ve ever read a book set in #Switzerland but one of my best friends lives there. Here are some photos from a visit with her in Thun and Oberhofen. Every picture I took looked like a postcard. #LetsTravelAugust
I bought a box of craft books at auction this week and discovered, tucked in the bottom, a copy of Heidi "produced under wartime conditions". Best five dollars I've spent!
I loved this book. I must say it's a classic for a good solid reason. It's so sweet and so heart warming, you just keep reading it. Definitely a page turner and you'll finish it in a single sitting. Heidi and her grandfather's relationship is so cute. Must read, for children as well as adults. I didn't want this to end.😔
4.8/5🌟
Don't look at me like my mum did when I bought a children's book.
But this book means something for me. I spotted this version with this brilliantly colored cover on Amazon.
And just could not resist myself.
Too much Nostalgia can be bad for your pockets.
The book is about Heidi, a young orphan girl and her story of making new friends, falling in love with the countryside. And the turmoils that ensures when she is taken away from there. 💕
@KassKho I can‘t stop seeing them! This is an undated edition published in Wisconsin (that hot bed of publishing). #theheidiproject
The descriptions in this book really made me want to live in a mountain #cottage 👌

Another edition of #ThrowbackThursday . A gorgeous antique copy of the book Heidi. Paper is still fine and white, illustrations are still very Vivid with color including the cover illustration. This book is truly a treasure in my collection.
#OldCoolBooks | May 8: book spines
Part of my collection of old cool books - some older than others. 😀
The #higherground of the Alps provides healing in this classic. Heidi goes to live in the mountains with Alm-Uncle and quickly discovers the beauty of living in nature. When she is forced to live in Frankfurt she prays for a return to the mountains. Faith, family, and friendship all figure heavily in this book, which I adored as a child (leading to a years along obsession with Switzerland and goat‘s milk). #heroine #getmovin #litsyclassics
I am enjoying rereading some old classics, but most are so very different than my childhood memories. This was mostly as I remember, but somehow I forgot about Peter! A nice read as a Serial Reader.
My name is Heidi Morden and my #litsyhandle came to me when I was setting up my IG, what else is better then a book in your hands!!!!
I just reread Heidi. I was eating a piece of cheese- that‘s what made me think of this book. The fresh goats milk and toasted cheese and fresh bread they talk about always make me hungry. I used to read this with my mom when I was a kid. Love it. ❤️🧀🍞🥛
This is one of those classic children's books that I've meant to read for ages. It was very sweet, but a bit heavy on religion for my taste. I look forward to reading this to the kids I take care of.
Where I like to read. #headboard.
Such a heartwarming and endearing reread of this childhood classic of a bubbly and jovial girl. Vivid descriptions of the beautiful Swiss alps, I could almost smell the mountain air! #litsyclassics
A good book to kickstart the year, me think.
#newyearreads #newbeginnings
This was my new year brunch today, and my #firstbook for the year. I‘ve only read the abridged version of the book in my childhood 🙈 and have decided to start the year with this vivacious girl! Happy new year!
This lovely story was the first large book I tackled. As a young third grader, my mind was filled with love and appreciation for the unparalleled beauty of the Alps. I loved all the characters.. from Heidi's cheery self to her grandfather's gruff personality.
The Alps 😍
Got this today. Could not resist the pink cover :).

Can't read anymore, need suggestions.
I have been a reader for a very long time. Since last year, I've read more than 50 books. But from the past one month or so, I haven't been able to read, at all. I've gone through a horrible breakup and right after my ex told me he got with a girl, I haven't been able to read anything or well concentrate.
So I need your help, please suggest books that are super interesting and that which I cannot put down.
Part 2 of my Book Haul!!!!
@KassKho #theheidiproject is probably finished, but I saw this in an antique store and thought of you. I think it's from 1944
A quick, cute, yet powerful read. And besides, who doesn't want to take a quick trip to the Alps (even if it is a fictional one)?? 😉😄
The book I've owned the longest. My grandma gave it to me when I was 8 or 9. Her grandmother gave it to her for Christmas when she was a little older than that. I cherish this and have never read this copy for fear of damaging it. #riotgrams
I haven't bought any of these Puffun/Pantone books yet, but they're very tempting. Although I think The Wizard of Oz should have a rainbow spine, not just yellow. 😀🌈

Also, here's another Heidi for #theheidiproject, @KassKho
Over the weekend, my parents and I went to visit my brother. When looking online for things to do, I found that the local Friends of the Library has a freestanding bookstore. Mom and I went and I found this. I took it over to Mom to show her how pretty it was. She asked me if I had ever read Heidi and when I said "No," she put this in our basket and bought it for me. Thanks Mom! Looking forward to reading it and then displaying it on my shelf.
I found this at my library book sale yesterday and brought it home for #theheidiproject Hope it's not too late!
Also, the illustrations are done by Jessie Wilcox Smith who was a famous local artist. I had just attended a discussion of her life at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
I'd never read this, so why not. It was a lovely story with these sweet and quaint illustrations.
@KassKho Here is my copy of Heidi for #TheHeidiProject. Its copyright date is 1901 from A. L. Burt Publishing Company. H. A. Melcon was the translator. It has full color illustrations by Anne Merriman Peck every few chapters. My friend who owns and runs a coffee shop and used bookstore sold it to me.
I couldn't figure out how to put photos in the comments so here's the title page of my edition. # @KassKho
Reading my own copy of Heidi so I can write my report for #theheidiproject ! I'm still looking for a few more covers of the book so let your friends know to show off their books :)
Here are my Heidis for #theheidiproject. The one with the blue cover was published in 1921 and has lovely illustrations by Maginel Wright Enright. The other two are approximately from the 1960s, although the one on the bottom right is copyright 1945.
Here's my 1957 Children's Classic edition. I think all the books in this collection had the same cover, so I guess that doesn't help. #theheidiproject @KassKho
#theheidiproject This is my German edition. 😍
@KassKho
This was my mother's copy, published in 1939. The cover isn't particularly exciting (the depression, after all) but the illustrations are lovely. #theHeidiproject @KassKho
For @KassKho #theheidiproject
Unfortunately the dust jackets on these are long gone, so I don't have the original cover image for you. But I thought I'd post anyway - my mum's 1956 set of Heidi and two sequels by a different author. They include some gorgeous original illustrations and a few that have been "added" over the years (not sure what the ballerina has to do with Heidi, lol).
For @KassKho 's #TheHeidiProject (Here you go!)
Calling all Littens! I have an assignment for my Children's Lit class that requires your assistance! I'm looking for pictures of any and all covers you have of Heidi. I need to compare the different covers throughout the years since it's been published! If you can tag me and #theheidiproject to any images of the book you have I would appreciate it! Spread the good word! Help me find Heidi! 👀👀
