I‘m getting the sense that this is an unpopular opinion, but this book was about 40 chapters too long. It felt never ending. I‘m listing it as a pick, but I‘d say it‘s more in between a pick and a so-so. The length took away from some of the emotion I could have felt with some of the sadder moments, because I was honestly just waiting for it to end after a while.
This whole series has been so good. I've enjoyed each book and this one was a great way for it to end. A very long book. A very long series. Filled with lots of action. Love. Sadness. Joy. Battles. Breath holding. Aww inspiring. Magic. Heartfelt friendships. It's had it all and more.
If you enjoy books about Faes, Witches, Kings and Queens, everyday people in their midst, then you will love this series and this book.
I cried and cried and cried during this book. What an emotional wrap up to an incredible series!!!
Enjoying a coffee and a few chapters. This series is amazing, this book has already made me cry twice and I still have a good way to go. Sarah J Maas is a brilliant writer and I have loved all of her books but I have a feeling this one might emotionally destroy me....I can't wait haha

It figures that the one time I go out without my ereader, I get the chance to stop at a cafe touting their fabulous cold brews and I‘ve gotta drink mine staring at my groceries instead of some quality reading material.
The cold brew was SO STRONG. I mean, HOLY CRAP. It‘s anybody‘s guess if I‘ll sleep tonight.
I WILL finish KINGDOM OF ASH, whenever I drop off. Just fifteen chapters to go! Everything‘s all dramatic and emotional and epic.
Outdoor reading with patio lights & beer. This S‘more Star Beast stout tasted eerily similar to the Tiger Malt I drank the other day. It was possibly the sweetest beer I‘ve ever had, which made it decidedly not to my tastes, and at 10.5% it was considerably stronger than most of what I drink. Not a win, alas.
Reread‘s still good, but I MIGHT pause soon to read something shorter. We shall see how I feel after the extremely strong beer wears off.
It‘s hot today, so Daisy decided she‘d rather sleep than perform her reading buddy duties while I finally started my KINGDOM OF ASH reread. I should be able to finish it by the end of the month, but I‘ve got a big, distracting project on the go and the book‘s pushing 1000 pages, so maybe it‘ll carry through into August. We‘ll see. I remember it being tough to put down at the denouement.
Phew ... I've finished the 'Throne of Glass' series! It's definitely not ACOTAR, for me, but I do get why people love it so much. I found the sheer amount of battle scenes a bit too much, too intense .... I kept having to set it down to take a break. I like the softer character moments in between the pain and brutality ... Maybe that's why I like ACOTAR more ...that and Rhysand is Henry Cavill in my head 😘
Morning, I hope everyone is having a lovely summer (it hasn't stopped raining in NI). However, I'm reading lots of good books and getting lots of snuggles from my kids and kittens. I hope you are too... wherever you are 💕
How do you end a 5,600 page saga? With battles, love, epic goodbyes, & so much more. I‘ve loved reading about these characters & I‘ll miss them. I loved the character growth & felt like they had wonderful arcs from beginning to end. One thing about the TOG series, is that I really didn‘t enjoy the 1st book until the end & it took me a little bit of the 2nd to really get into the series. It‘s totally worth it but don‘t give up on it too soon.
What an emotional roller coaster of a book! The action is simply nonstop. A satisfying end to a great series. This entire series is world building at its finest. Excellent characters, clever plot, and a great job of maintaining interest throughout the series. But now I‘m drained!
No pause between books of this series this time. I‘m ready and eager to jump right in.
What a journey! What a tiresome and exhausting war. How amazing it is to see it all righted at the end, despite the losses, the hardships. I love this series, for its plot, great characters, and above all, the courage it ignites on its readers to face all fears and fight for family and home. I did wish upon one aspect of its ending that did not occur, but did not eliminate the good of it, and it is still open to interpretation it occurring.
Today I‘m drinking mimosas and reading through KOA; I‘m reading so slowly bc some of these chapters are sooo brutal
Here we go; after spending a month doing the tandem read, we‘re at the end of the road for Throne of Glass. So far I think I‘m loving this more than ACOTAR, but I‘m not sure; I‘m a sucker for the characters in these books and I want them all to have a happy ending 🥲
Let's see what finer points I've forgotten as I finish my re-read of the series.
I have no words, just so many tears. 8 books, 2 months later; I don‘t know what to do with my book life. I care for these characters so much. I think I agree saying I prefer Aelin over Feyre. Aelin is so human, with her faults and need for dramatics. She would do anything to protect those she loves. And she loves a lot. #sjm
“Live Manon, live.” 😭 “Take it off.”🥺
I made it to the last book! I'm enjoying this series very much. Glad I changed my plans for the month. Let's see how this story finishes.
It's not the same size (ToD is the same way) & it is driving me nuts. My sister gifted me her paperbacks because she wanted all hardcover & let me tell you trying to complete the set for a reasonable price is near impossible so I opted for the international edition ( because then it semi matches) but may be regretting my choice 😩
“Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom…”

My emotions have been through the wringer but I have made it to the otherside.
Probably one of my favorite things about the holiday season...reading by the glow of the Christmas lights 😍🎄📖
At last we have arrived at the final book...I have a feeling it's gonna be a doozy. 🤔😬
The last book in this series, The Glass Throne, is a monster of a book. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I like war strategy. Those who find that tedious might struggle with the book. The characters have been with me all summer through eight books, and I was in tears at the close of this series. Well done, Maas.
A fantastic, satisfying conclusion and one of my favourite books in the series. Maas just leaves me in awe with her worlds and how much I love her characters.

I have already cried multiple times reading this book. Sarah J. Moss is an absolutely amazing author. This series is definitely one of my favorites that I've read. I just love each relationship in all of the groups.
This book made me cry so hard! I‘m so happy and giddy with how the series has come to a close but I‘m so sad it‘s over. I‘ve been with this series for just under a year now (I know) and I‘ve grown the love and relate to each and every character. They‘ve been through so much with me and I with them and I‘m sad to see it go.
Thank you so much Sarah for writing yet again another phenomenal series
I enjoyed this finale to a brilliant series. Sometimes it went on a bit and some of the themes were repetitious, perhaps because I‘ve read the ‘Court Of…‘ series (which I prefer, with some caveats). I wished Aelin would stop smirking! Quite how Dorian got hold of Damaris at one point distracted me. Oddly this wasn‘t my favourite of the series, but it was great to have everything come together. SJM‘s imagination + story arc over 7 books phenomenal.
Unpopular opinion
There were too many POVs and characters and there wasn't any kind of recap in the beginning. I hated the beginning for that reason, it was hard to get into this book.
This was plain boring and felt long because almost nothing happened. I think I have been spoiled by better fantasy and in this book battles were underwhelming.
Repetitive and wordy.

I mean...based on my screen name, it wasn't going to be anything else. Lol I want more books in this world, maybe based on the offspring of Aelin and Rowan as well as the children from the other paired couples in this series. A new crew.
Also based on the events of the end of Crescent City 2 (not saying more), I'm hoping for certain other things. Being as vague as possible.

1) I did have a few series' that hit me emotionally like that, not necessarily a specific book: The Eragon series had some moments for me, Auroras End, certain moments in the Throne of Glass series.
2) Fantasy (then Sci Fi, near tie)
3) Very hard to choose just one but: Kingdom of Ash
#wonderouswednesday @Eggs
I liked this series over all, this was a big book and does explain all the characters and does finish nicely, yet I found it wordy at times.
A day late for #wondrouswednesday
Thanks for the tag @Eggs
1 just started tagged book so 2⭐️
2. Wish you Were Here by Jodi Picoult 2022 favorite so far
3. I am grateful for everything and everyone in my life with everything going on in the world I feel so fortunate for my family and That I can hug my grandchildren
An absolutely phenomenal series, and such a well written ending. Though the start was a bit slow, this emotional rollercoaster was such an amazing ending to the Throne of Glass series. Manon is still my favourite. I loved the plot and how things ended, the final battle wasn't just a fight but a full on war. I loved this series and I'm so sad I've now finished all of SJM's current books, I absolutely cannot express my love for her writing.
Great job, Liz!

Holy cow! The conclusion of the series has left me with a book hangover! The emotional rollarcoaster that still has me in a chokehold even though it's over. This was both heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time with a well deserved ending. You can barely catch your breath as you root for your favorite characters and hope they will be spared. 5/5!!
Bk12 of February & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done! At almost 1,000 pages, the 7th & final TOG book is packed full of action, characters & magic. Bringing Aelin & all her allies into a last cataclysmic battle in Terrasen with a few favourites not surviving😢, it‘s a worthy end to the series. #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #ChunksterChallenge #LitsyAtoZ2022 #PennyPerPage #KickTheSlump #Pageathon #FinishingTheSeries
The grand finale! Excited to finish off the series and find out what our girl Aelin has in stock for us!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫This book is an emotional roller coaster, and at over 980 pages, it has a lot of opportunities for you to be to be stressed, sad, surprised, excited, etc.
Maas does an incredible job wrapping up so many story lines. There‘s *a lot* of fighting & feeling like all is lost, which gets a bit wearing. But overall it‘s a wonderful ending to a great series.

“Asterin smiled wider, kissed Manon‘s brow, and whispered again, “live.” “
Such a bittersweet thing to finish a series you love. The Throne of Glass series has easily become one of my favorites and I‘m sad it‘s come to an end after 2 months. I absolutely loved these books! This one especially had me crying tears of sadness and joy. HIGHLY recommend #throneofglass #sjm #tog
Book #28: Seven weeks later and I can‘t believe I‘m done with this series. It took me a while to get through this last one because I didn‘t feel as much of a sense of urgency to finish it. Not sure if it‘s because I didn‘t want it to end or it felt like this book was dragging things out a bit. I just have mixed emotions about this final book. Still not over the Thirteen.
