I like how even minor characters are given their chance to shine in these crime novels. The dialogue always provides character development and it‘s fun to see Strike grapple with his own morals and ethics. Book 3 will be on the horizon for me.

This was very different than the first, but that as interesting. The author has a way of making a whole host of characters individual and enjoyable each in their own way.
I've read this book a while ago. It took me ages, because of the care of my then newborn daughter, and that's why I didn't really enjoy the book as much. The book was rather gruesome here and there. To be honest I don't even know many of the characters anymore or who the murderer is. Oh well...
576 pages.
This was my #bookspin for January. @TheAromaofBooks
I am having so much fun with these books. Thrilled I got the entire collection for Christmas.
Ended the year on a reading high- The Silkworm was def 5 stars 🌟 and 'Madhouse at the End of the Earth' is my book of the year ✨️ Happy New Year everyone 💛
Merry Christmas everyone ❤️ my husband gave me this wee reading light and it'd awesome 🥰 Did anyone get good books or bookish gifts? Big Christmas hugs to you all ❤️
I'm only 55 pages in, but I'm loving it.... think it's shaping up to be better than the first one ....I'm dying to watch the new TV series... but I can't bring myself to do it until I've the read book!
I simply enjoyed the continued character development in Cormoran and Robin, the wide world in the microcosm of London‘s elite artists being surprisingly horrifying - I frankly wondered frequently at the author and her portrayals (and their accuracy). Was Art imitating life? Did anyone in the rarified “literary” world recognize themselves? I enjoyed the foibles as much as the mystery! On to the next!
652 pages later I‘m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Excited to see what‘s happening to Strike and Robin. I found this book comfortably entertaining despite the grizzly murder and the macabre Bombyx Mori.

About halfway through The Silkworm and I‘m just so glad that 𝐵𝑜𝑚𝑏𝑦𝑥𝑀𝑜𝑟𝑖 doesn‘t actually exist, it‘s bad enough I have to read it vicariously through Cormoran 😂 I‘m really enjoying this one SO much better then the first Strike novel. Also I think I officially have a literary crush on Cormoran
Taking a ᵗⁱⁿʸ break from fantasy and diving into the second Cormoran Strike book. Definitely in the mood for a good detective novel rn 🔍
I do like the personal stories of Cormoran and his assistant Robin. There were parts of the mystery that didn‘t hold my attention as much, though. I did have a bit of a hard time remembering who some of the characters (suspects) were. Overall, I‘m rating this one ok, but I do think I‘ll continue the series – for now, anyway
I didn't enjoy JKR's first foray into crime fiction that much - Strike and Robin struck me as rather artificial creations and the writing as trying a bit too hard. Anyway, this one was much better, though I didn't much care who had done the grisly deed.
Week 1 total = 4828 points for #TeamSlaughter 🔪

I‘ve really enjoyed every book so far in this series about a PI in London and his intrepid sidekick/secretary. Also, Matthew is the WORST.

1. 2 hats even though I don't wear them much.
2. Driven through plenty
3. The Silkworm and yes, I am enjoying it.

Currently reading and enjoying.
The second of Robert Galbraith‘s Cormoran Strike series is a bit slow in the middle but overall I give it a pick because of the surprise ending.
3.5⭐ Initially I thought I might enjoy this even more than the first in the series, but something about the resolution just didn't work for me.
What I did love was Robin and Cormoran spending more time together and the possibility of Robin becoming more of a partner and investigator.
I've already ordered the next two books in the series and can't wait to read more!
I didn‘t love this one as much as the first book. I thought it was a bit slow moving but I‘m definitely still interested in seeing how the last book turns out!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great book and with awesome engaging characters. Highly recommend!
Another fast paced mystery. I like the main characters, but the writers & publishers in this book are all pretty aweful. Book 3 is on my shelf so I might just jump straight in.
I enjoyed this book more than the first. The mystery was intense and this time I didn‘t guess the right person.
I‘m not sure what else to say because while this book wasn‘t amazing for me it also wasn‘t terrible either. It was just a good mystery read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
It took me a long time to pick up the 2nd Cormoran Strike book because I didn‘t love the first one. I‘m so glad #bookspin “forced” me to, because I loved this one!
🤣
I think J.K. Rowling hit her groove writing as Galbraith with Silkworm, which uses the novel within a novel trope to great effect. I do hope Robin gets more chances to shine in the next books in the series.

One great thing about having a middle schooler now? She gets free rein to make breakfast in the kitchen. She was the only one hungry for pancakes, but she did such a good job that we all had some!
And she found my 🐄 creamer container. 😊

I‘m reading the tagged book, she just started Internment.
It‘s raining, again. Good thing I don‘t have to be anywhere today. Cozy reading with my #bookspin book!
My #bookspin No. 12 is the tagged book and #doublespin No. 1 is Sister Citizen! I will definitely aim to read both of these, since my #doublespin book was already one I had considered reading during Black History Month.
Silkworm was one of my purchases when a local used bookstore went out of business and I had to use all my credits. Purchased: April 2018
Sister Citizen: Amazon purchase June 2017.
Sunday was an impromptu day of reorganizing my bookshelf. My book collection grew over the holidays, so it was time to organize! I zero vision going in, I just put where it felt right...I must say, small victory, but I am damn proud!

I didn‘t like The Silkworm as much as The Cuckoo‘s Calling, but it‘s still a solid read. After finally joining Goodreads, I learned that this was written by JK Rowling under a pseudonym. 🤦🏻♀️ I really should learn more about books before I willy-nilly pick one off a shelf. I‘m excited to read the next book I‘m the series. 📚
I binged The Cuckoo‘s Calling in a day, so I was excited to start the second book. It was a slow start, but I got so entranced during my walk today. Now I have two tired pups and a book I can‘t stop listening to. Sorry kids, you didn‘t need to talk to me tonight anyways... right?
This series feels very modern old timey. Fun to read.
Reading and GG. Goes hand and hand.
I think this might be my new hate read. I‘m perplexed as to why these do so well - even with the famous name behind them.
Current crime fiction read!
I'm really enjoying this series and the characters of both Cormoran Strike and Robin! I also may just have immediately checked out the next book in the series after being absorbed by The Silkworm today 😉
I didn't really enjoy The Cuckoo's Calling all that much, so I was a bit iffy on reading this one. Good thing I really enjoyed it. I'm excited to read the rest of the series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Strike and Robin have officially hooked me! This story is far more intriguing than The Cuckoo‘s Calling. Better writing, too. The gruesome crime details surprised me, but the idea behind it is so damned clever. The novel within the novel is brilliant in its bizarreness. I thought I had the killer pegged early on, but was wrong. A super sleuth I am not. I don‘t usually go for series, but ... on to the next one.
Finally on my two week summer vacation, so I‘m finally getting caught up on some reading! The more I dive into this one, the more I fall in love with it!
