I hope it‘s not too late for me to jump on this #10beforetheend challenge. The Litsy algorithm was barely showing me this tag today. Here are 10 books I am hoping to finish before 2025. Great idea @ChaoticMissAdventures 🤩

ChaoticMissAdventures Never too late! Well January 2025 would be I guess! Good luck 🍀 3d
BookmarkTavern The Dictionary of Sorrows is one of my favorites! 💖 3d
MatchlessMarie @Avanders @BookmarkTavern I barely heard about it like a month ago because one of my online friends received it as a gift and posted it. Now I keep hearing great things about it 🖤 3d

Starting this today for one of the November discussions on The Big Read. I need to be careful. I‘ve started a lot of books lately!

TNH explains the power of silence by slowing down the mind so that we can recognize the surrounding beauty. Many people search for happiness; however, they spend their days frantically running from one place to another. Silence is about cultivating quiet in our minds amid chaos. TNH offers techniques to remind us to be present in the moment with equanimity in a noisy environment or mind.

Radical Acceptance | Tara Brach

This is really an incredible book. Tara Brach is a great teacher, and I‘ve been listening to her guided meditations for a while. It was so nice to read more of her teaching, stories, and insights in this book. She has such a great way of teaching self compassion and acceptance! I would definitely recommend.

How to Walk | Thich Nhat Hanh

Transformative! As a regular walker, this book inspired me to think of it in a new way. While I will still walk often while listening to audiobooks, I will sprinkle in quiet, meditative walking too. This book did have a close encounter with my usually sweet Mollie and is a bit worse for the wear. Was she trying to tell me something about walking more often? #BokspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

Ruthiella Definitely Molly is encouraging you to put down the books and walk her more often! 😂 2mo

TheAromaofBooks When my dog was a puppy he chewed up a library book and I had to take it in and confess and pay for it, etc. Which wouldn't have been too bad except two years later puppy #2 did the same thing! 😂 2mo
Julsmarshall Oh no @TheAromaofBooks ! Puppies gonna puppy 🐶 2mo

Meditation in Action | Chogyam Trungpa

Pickpick

One might think I‘m a Buddhist by how often I read/listen to Buddhist texts and related topics. I‘m not. But I find a lot about Buddhism lines up with my personal philosophies. Or, at least, how I imagine my personal philosophies.

Meditation in Action is very accessible. I was able to follow along while working, and while not everything is new to me here, Trungpa is able to frame it in a way that makes it seem new. Def recommend for beginners.
