I‘ve heard nothing but great reviews from her other books, but I definitely shouldn‘t have started with this one. It‘s obvious this was meant for BookTok audience, using ACOTAR references to describe characters, forced TikTok language and trend references. Every time I felt the relationship was building and gaining interest another problem was thrown in that, maybe because of the time jumps, it felt unresolved and rushed

Think I‘ve entered my cozy mystery era right in time for fall. Both books were fun and easy to relax and immerse yourself into. Shady Hollow had a slower pace and less threat to the main character, so a little more cozier vibe. Definitely going to finish both series

None of the characters really had a distinctive voice It sounds like Agnes is narrating most of the time, and I had go back a few pages when I realize it‘s Stephanie or Mai.I don‘t even remember what they look like until Victor showed up and they had to point out that he was “Black and from New York.”

Is sitting in your car outside your apartment for 40minutes the audiobook equivalent to “I couldn‘t put it down”?

Got back into reading this year. This is the most I‘ve read in 3yrs. Set a goal for 2 books a month and been to keep it up pretty well thanks to audiobooks and being able to get to Kindle Cloud on work computers. Got a long travel day,flying cross country, so hopefully I can knock out the last two 🤞🏾

I was very underwhelmed by this one. It had a lot of potential to be a really good story but there was no time I was really interested/concerned about the couple. I loved Avery‘s story and her practice methods but we didn‘t really get to see most of them play out because everything came out pretty quickly and easily. None of the twist or events were really attention grabbing the end and even that worked itself out pretty quickly.
