Leah Stevens and her friend Emmy leave Boston to start fresh in Pennsylvania. Trouble soon follows when Emmy disappears and Leah can‘t seem to provide evidence that Emmy ever existed at all. Soon Leah starts to wonder how well she really knew her friend. I always enjoy a character-driven thriller and this one fit the bill!

Miranda is an auto-buy author for me…I‘ve enjoyed the books of hers that I‘ve read, including this one!

Quiet afternoon means another finished book.
The idea of someone stealing your personal identity is already creepy; this suspense thriller takes it to a whole new level. It makes your skin crawl realizing just how easy it could be for someone to BE you. Yikes. Really well planned plot that just keeps moving. 👏🏼
I started reading this book today and I am already half way done. Can‘t put it down. I have some theories but it‘s been so hard to figure out. Definitely not like most suspenseful books I read, usually can figure it out.
If the few people that follow my reading list haven‘t realized, I love psychological thrillers! With that being said, Megan Miranda is a great author in that genre. Very good read, with a twist that I did not see coming.
"I pulled his sketch of the lake from my desk drawer; a boy crouched down by the lake...." #mystery #readKY #Winterread #meganmiranda

#TBRtemptation post 4! Threatened with a lawsuit, journalist Leah needs to flee Boston. She runs into old friend Emmy who is also looking for a fresh start. They move to a rural Pennsylvania town. There, an Emmy lookalike attacks Leah and Emmy disappears days later. Local cop Kyle is put on the case, but when nothing of Emmy‘s is around—pics, family, digital activity—the police think Emmy doesn‘t exist. Now what?! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
This has been on my TBR for a long time. I love this author.
Leah's life has turned upside down when an old friend reappears in her life with a plan to move to a small town in PA. When crazy things start happening, Leah starts questioning what she knows about this friend.

I doubted Meghan Miranda when I started this book, I thought this book would have an unreliable narrator and so I didn't like this book at first and while there are elements of that, there is something deeper to this story.
This was a well done, slow burn mystery where the author puts prices of the story together slowly .. leaving crumbs in each chapter for the reader to peice together. It was well done.
So I've been reading this mystery novel this week. I've also started There There but haven't been in the right mindset to really dove into it.
Hopefully this Meghan Miranda book will put me back in a good mood.as far as mysteries go. Eight Perfect Murders was a let down.
Not at lot beats starting winter break with a solid mystery read. Miranda never fails to disappoint. The Perfect Stranger is just the right balance of plotting, intriguing, and undemanding storytelling. Great weekend escapism.
When Leah Stevens‘ career implodes, a chance meeting with her old friend Emmy Grey offers her the perfect opportunity to start over. Emmy, just out of a bad relationship, convinces Leah to come live with her in rural Pennsylvania, where no one knows Leah‘s past. Or Emmy‘s...

Yeah, this book was a disappointment. 😏 It‘s hard to pinpoint exactly why I wasn‘t impressed. 🤷🏻♀️ I didn‘t really care much for the MC; I didn‘t find her that likable and came across as naive as the story progressed. There seemed to be a lot of threads to the plot that I had a hard time keeping straight in my head. The ending even fell flat for me. Oh well, at least I checked it off for the #MountTBR challenge.
Second book I‘ve read by her. Similar themes. Unreliable narrator. Keeps you guessing to the very end.
With a high number of three-ish star ratings for this book...I was expecting to like this more than everyone else...and I actually liked it less than...just goes to show you never can tell how you feel about a book based off reviews alone. When it comes to mysteries, it all comes down to what your mind lets you believe.

Not gonna lie, this one was kinda disappointing. A relatively unremarkable and quite forgettable mystery, where disgraced journalist Leah Stevens moves to Pennsylvania, to start a new life as a teacher at the local high school and soon becomes involved in the disappearance of her roommate Emily. ⭐️⭐️ #netgalley #goodreads #seasonalreadingchallenge
Another good book from Megan Miranda. Not as good as All the Missing Girls but it was an entertaining read with afew twists along the way.
Today's B&N haul using Gift card from co-workers. We're exhausted from all that shopping.
#BookFitnessChallenge ✔. I didn't do the best job tracking first round. I'm excited to have a team to help me be more accountable. Bought habit tracker stickers (see above); I'm hoping to read an hour a day(counting audio), work out at least 20, meditate daily, and hit my 10,000 steps. Most of my goals can be met simultaneously. @wanderinglynn
I recently borrowed this book from my local library and as soon as I started reading it, I couldn't stop. This is a wonderful book with many twists and turns. It's about a girl who moves far away from her home town to escape her past. This book is amazing, and I highly recommend it.
This book had all the ingredients to be on one of my hit lists, but I just found it really annoying. Not bad but I really loved her other back, and this was nothing compared to it
My husband and I are moving out of state and have a long road trip ahead of us tonight. We love listening to books during our road trips and I really enjoy reading along while we listen ☺️ I‘m a big fan of Megan Miranda and I found this gem at a used bookstore for $5! I‘m excited to get into it. But I‘ve heard mixed reviews 😬 have any of you Littens read it? If so, what did you think?!
Spring break has been wonderful, but I haven‘t done any of the reading I‘d hoped to wrap up before the end of the month. I intend to take advantage of another quiet afternoon/evening to make progress on this book I bought months ago.
Leah will not be fooled by the mercurial Emmy, if that is even her name...Leah always gets to the truth

The Perfect Stranger (With a Crayon)! This was a pick for me. Sunday night, reading in bed. I'm sick 😷 with something bronchial...
2-3-19: My 10th finished book of 2019! She got me again! #theperfectstranger #meganmiranda 👍🏼📖#️⃣1️⃣0️⃣
Two books with #stranger in the title...the one on the right I read and enjoyed, the one on the left I want to read! #anewchapter
I snuck one more in for 2018. Finished this at work since it has been quiet all day. A good thriller that had me working on the puzzle the whole time. Trying to understand who is real and what the truth is. I liked the way it tied itself up at the end.
Sunday morning! My head is feeling better and I have started The Perfect Stranger. The atmosphere is already set up nicely to creep me out. I hate having big windows with no curtains. At night anyone can see in, but you can‘t really see out! Happy Sunday reading!! 🖤🖤🖤
This quote resonated with me...I‘ve definitely felt these same things and I felt I was able to connect with this character on an emotional level!
This book was one of the best books I‘ve read in a loooong time and I highly recommend it!

Clearly I‘m on a roll when it comes to reading this month! Finished #JurorNumber3 today and decided to continue on my whodunnit high! Who doesn‘t love a good mystery?

Good read, but found I did not enjoy this as much as All the Missing Girls. Makes you think twice about who to trust!
@JoScho this is a wonderful birthday box 💕 I love it all so much and I can‘t thank you enough for your kindness. I am super excited about both books!!! The patch, pin and bookmarks are perfect. I love the little fox in socks keychain and the fox socks are so cute and VERY cozy. I have already had a few of the Milky Way and sour gummies! The card is so adorable. Thank you so much sweet friend! Jody you helped make this day special ☺️
I'm loving Megan Miranda. Every time you think you know what's happening in her books she pulls the rug right out from under you. Always a surprise!
Thank you @Wonderwoman89 a few items were broken in the box. Here is a pic of a couple of the items-I love them all & cant wait to dig into the books! #witchpleaseswap I hope my package got to you too. What a great halloween!
@monalyisha
I tend to pick books similar to my surroundings completely by accident while on trips. Not realizing the significance of the woods throughout this story and how my host lives isolated in the middle of a heavily wooded 10 acre property. Great book but I had it all wrong- had the mystery gal pegged incorrectly. Not ashamed to admit I was wrong. #book100
After waiting a month for this ebook I finally get to read it !! 🤗📚📖🤓
