This book is bonkers. It's definitely dark satire. Similar concept to American Psycho but with the brand name drops and the non stop killing but it's not quite as well done. It's kept me engaged though and I've been laughing at some of the hilarity of it all... It's actually exactly the kind of guilty pleasure reads I was looking for so I'm pretty satisfied 😂

This book doesn‘t have great reviews on Goodreads but I really enjoyed it. I mean yea it was bonkers and a female version of American Pyscho but I was down for it.

I actually enjoyed this book! It wasn‘t amazing but it was a quick fun read. I‘ve heard other people call it “campy” and that‘s exactly how I would describe it, like an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it deals with some serious content but in a light way. Anya borders on Joe Goldberg obsession and I hear this book is going to made into a show also.

Hilariously good is this American Psycho meets Devil Wears Prada! And that‘s really all I can say....

I‘m trying to do more library ebooks to try to save some money, but now I have anxiety about timing my reading of other books to when my library holds come in! Is this a problem for anyone else?!

I thoroughly enjoyed this very fashionable thriller.

This story was definitely over the top, but I enjoyed the interesting mash up of genres. It is like The Devil Wears Prada meets Gone Girl.

Very surprised by this book! I thought it was going to be kind of cheesy but it had way more depth than I thought. Anya was one of the creepiest main characters I‘ve read in a long time. This was a super easy, fun little read but not for the faint of heart. “Everyone fucks you over eventually. Everyone. Don‘t believe me? Look around at your friends. Think of everything they‘ve done that pissed you off. What kind of friends are they? Shitty ones.”

Everyone tells me this is a quick read so here goes nothing!

A dark twist on the fashion industry, this book was a quick read that was amusing at times.

Just finished this BUT I had to Google Le Labo Santal 33 when she talked about this fragrance. I had never heard of this but now I need to find it just to get a wiff😂😂

Vacay has started!!

I shouldn‘t be surprised that the serial killer telling the story is crazy. For whatever reason this one‘s mental illness is disturbing and made for an uncomfortable read. There were some funny moments, but mostly it fell flat for me. I pretty much figured what would happen about halfway through and from then just made slow to go. Right at the end it picked up, but by then it was too late for me. Guess they can‘t all be winners.

I‘m really struggling getting through this book (not exactly enjoying the ramblings of a severely mentally ill person)...however, this line made me lol.

Ever get so angry you could stab someone with a glass shard and repeatedly bash her head in? Me neither. Working for a fashion magazine is driving Anya St. Clair to murder. Fat shaming and racism are only two battles she fights along with snobby, backstabbing gossipers. This dark satire throws its shots at the fashion industry but falls flat with empathy for our main character. However, it's still a solid read.

This was very much Dexter meets The Devil Wears Prada. It‘s a gory story set in the world of high fashion magazines . I found myself rooting for different characters at different points in the book and liked it overall, though some parts were a bit predictable.

This book...! I couldn‘t put it down!! What a debut! I I don‘t want to say too much, but I definitely recommend to all!!

Finally finished this. It was a little bit tedious, a little bit weird, and a little bit brilliant.

I thought FashionVictim would be a quick read... it is taking me forever to get through, but I keep coming back to it, so I will probably finish it. However, I am devouring The Girl Who Smiled Beads and needing to know more about Rwanda.

Another three book month. $10 for a new release book is really hard to resist...

Is this going to win a Pulitzer? Nope. Is it a darkly hilarious book that will keep you reading until the end? Yep.

It‘s the snarkiness and wit of Jo Piazza combined with the clever bite of Caroline Kepnes along with the bitchy, behind-the-scenes setting of The Devil Wears Prada. 👠💄⚰️

A review called this “The Devil wears Prada meets Dexter”. A more accurate description would be American Psycho set in the fashion world. Without the nihilism. And, like American Psycho, it gets tedious after a while.

OMG!!!! This book was so good. Anya works in fashion. I don't want to give to much away but let's just say when Anya wants to deal with a coworker, she takes care of the situation in her own special way. She was crazy! This book was a page turner and I wanted to know what Anya was going to do next. Can't wait to see what this author writes next. #botm

This book is straight up crazy cakes-in the best way. I loved it. The start was a bit slow for me but once I got into it I found it completely addictive-think watching a train wreck. Anya works for a fashion magazine and has some issues with some coworkers that she deals with in her own special was. Dark and over the top funny. The characters aren‘t like able but that didn‘t matter to me at all. I needed know where this was headed. #netgalley

O-M-G... I loved this book. Part of it is definitely the fact that I briefly worked in a fashion related job and am so familiar with these types of people. The other part was all the similarities and parallels to American Psycho. Not only that, but a female serial killer? Yes, please. Especially one who is just crazy and not a victim really herself. This was biting, funny, disturbing, and beyond addictive. #botm

I am so glad I made this my #BOTM choice this month. This book is so dark and hilarious. I loved the writing style, the fashion world, and the characters. I could not put this book down.
How far would you go to win a friend or someone‘s affection? Anya is working in the fashion world and wants Sarah to be her BFF, but first she must kill whoever gets in her way.

I don't think this book is to be taken as seriously as a book like American Psycho, there is a similar vibe but not as yucky. I would compare it to the new show Insatiable on Netflix. Quick read!
