I never get tired of this classic, but the reread was more fun this time around, as part of #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead. Reading this makes me want to visit Prince Edward Island again.

For the Anne fans out there. Eight books, 99 cents!
This was on my tbr, I bought it years ago because the cover is pretty. To be honest,I found Anne irritating as a child, she is a Pollyanna with an attitude, and it can be difficult to read while rolling your eyes. Made me feel old to understand better Marilla! But as the book progressed I found that, like Marilla, I had grown fond of her. Overall, it is an easy feel good read and if I find a nice edition of the second one might follow the series
I can‘t believe I‘ve never read this book before…
“and the unfortunate Matthew was left to do that which was harder for him than bearding a lion in its den-walk up to a girl-a strange girl-an orphan girl-and demand of her why she wasn‘t a boy.” 🦁👧👦🤣
I‘ve joined #whatthedickens_bookclub via Facebook for their June read of the tagged book. Reading outside is peaceful for me and allows the foster (soon to be ours) dog time to run. As you can see, he likes to be close to me. 🐾
Today‘s book mail ~ I must admit I neglected to consider how small the print would be on Anne & Emma. Lesson learned…I hope. 🔎
Perfectly charming. I listened to the Sandra Oh/Catherine O‘Hara version and it was fantastic.
“That is one good thing about this world...there are always sure to be more springs.” I love Anne of Green Gables! #FridayNightShare #Naturalitsy #Litsolace #SpringEquinox
***Edited to add: Ooops! I missed the Non-fiction requirement. I'll keep this post, but I'll write a new one about non-fiction. 🙂
1. I last moved in September 2020. I'm hoping this is it for a while!
2. I'm going to recommend an old favorite where the character moves to a new place: Anne of Green Gables. 😍

5✨ I was trying to finish this before the month was over, but I was enjoying it slowly. This was a fun read of an orphaned girl who by chance warms the hearts of her adopters who wanted a boy to help them as they aged. Anne has a wonderful imagination, and talks very well for a young lady. You see a lot of her growth in this book. I‘m just upset I didn‘t read this sooner.
Going into the weekend I‘m feeling a bit more confident that I can completely catch up with my original goals. Yay! #JoyousJanuary @Andrew65
Poor Anne she has already been to so many homes. 😢
“Pretty? Oh, pretty doesn‘t seem like the right word to use. Nor beautiful, either. They don‘t go far enough. Oh, it was wonderful— wonderful. It‘s the first thing I ever saw that couldn‘t be improved upon by imagination.”
I‘m really enjoying Anne‘s wonder. 🥰
A classic. My mother bought me a boxed set of the series, and I've been thinking about reading them all for a while. This brought back some lovely childhood memories for me. #startedin2023finishedin2024 #whatiread #booktwelveof2023 #bookoneof2024

Leave it to you, Christie, to notice my chagrin at having never read this book and to alleviate it! What an incredibly thoughtful gift. And the Canadian Antiques Roadshow! #yahoo! Please tell me you're in it, too! I can't wait to read and watch! I also have a LONG response to pen soon! To say I'm grateful to have found you through #LL is the understatement of the year. Thank you, and happiest of holidays, dear friend. 💙❄️💙
I know that this is probably hard to believe, but I have never read the Anne of Green Gables Series. I‘m interested in finally reading this next year. Since I have never read the series I‘m not sure if I should start here or if there is a better starting spot you guys would suggest. Either way, who would be interested in reading this with me? I‘m also open to suggestions on if we should read a book a month, chapter a day, or another way.
This is my first time reading this classic story. The new Audible Original production is free to members! I was immediately struck by this wonderful story. I understand why so many readers express significant love for Anne and the gorgeous setting of Prince Edward Island. I truly adored Anne and her wild adventures. Audible‘s production is amazing!

Not exactly a book review, but we are getting a new puppy and wondered whether anyone here could propose a literary male name of a lovely character. Our current dog is Gilbert, after Gilbert Blythe, who I have loved completely since I was 8. My current list is Pip, Huckleberry, Jem, Wilbur, Westley or Samwise. Any other suggestions?
I would dye my hair scarlet to see if I could acquire this personality.
Here is my little #smilesonlitsy for you @dabbe I am so grateful you came into my life.
Congrats on your milestone.
Starting next…one of those books everyone has read but me. I‘ve heard great things about this audiobook from Modern Mrs Darcy! 🎧

I loved this book so much! Anne is an adorable character, and I love how she softened up the old grouchy people.
1. Scotland 🏴 misty forests, mountains, & coastlines
2. Haunting of Hill House 👻
3. For the transcendent descriptions of nature🌅

1. I mostly read more contemporary books, but I enjoy classics too.
2. Can you believe I‘ve never read the tagged book?!?

Thanks for the tags, ladies!
Yet again, it's been way too long since I've posted on here. I am apparently the absolute worst with that haha. These just came this week. Been wanting to read these forever. Yay! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend:)!!📚
I am not a huge fan of many classics but I was surprised how quickly I fell in love with this story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have no idea how many times I have read Anne of Green Gables, but now I‘m listening to the audiobook.
Just got the Anne of Green Gables box set! I read the first book a couple of years ago and it is very dear to me.
‘Dear old world', she murmured, 'you are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you.‘
Darling Anne of Green Gables to round out the year for a December book club pick.
I was SUPPOSED to read the AOGG series for the #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead but didn‘t quite make it. But after finishing the Emily series and Chronicles of Avonlea, I decided I was going to read the series anyway, and committed to reading a chapter or 2 a day. Lo and behold, I got sucked in and finished book 1 already! There is something so comforting about this series and it really does give you the warm fuzzies. I‘m excited because I haven‘t ⬇️

Thanks for the tag! @DarkMina
1: Colleen Hoover, Emma Scott & J. Lynn
2.Okay, so since I'm Hindu I almost always find new & unique names while I'm reading novels because most of the novels I've read are written by American or British authors but here are few that I liked: Emma, Zora, Maeve, Daniel, Asher, Theodore & Reece
3.Tagged.
Wanna play? @Ast_Arslan @WJCintron @MadelineMcCrae @AFrostCauseReads @wanderinglynn
Just finished my my first read through of the Anne of Green Gables series. It was delightful!
Loved this book as a kid.
And first lilacs!!
I‘m trying to choose an edition of Anne of Green Gables. It thought having a lovely edition would give me the courage to read this book for the first time since I was a kid. Any suggestions?

Suuuuch a lovely book! ?
I eatched the Netflix series before reading the book, and I knew that some passages might not be in it, but it's still a really nice, kind of "innocent" read.
The only thing I "regret" is that the story moves REALLY fast at the end, but I prefer this ending to the Netflix ending ☺️
This is the first book… out of 9!! ? Idk if I'll read the whole series hahaha
