#WithAPun Always tempted when I see this title, but so far I haven‘t bought it. #TemptingTitles @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
This cocktail is not in the tagged book, and isn't inspired by the pictured book, which just happens to be what I'm reading while drinking, so there's no real bookish justification for this post ??♂️
Anyway, it's inspired from the Karen's Diner menu, where Mrs B thinks she would fit right in as a member of staff: Vodka, Triple Sec, Lime Juice, Apple Juice, known as an "Are You Taking the Piss". Sweet, sharp and fruity, just like Mrs B! ??
One of my vacation purchases, this is a fun little book, filled with synopses of classic novels, short stories, and plays, paired with (mostly) alcoholic drinks. The drink names are punny and there are several that I found tempting. My only complaints are the frequently sexist language and the fact that many of the summaries contain spoilers. Maybe borrow before buying to see if any of the recipes appeal to you.
Fancying a can of dandelion and burdock on my walk home from the shops, I realised that there are no cocktails featuring this iconic Northern tonic. Naturally, this called for a taste test to determine what base liquor might best match the distinctive flavour of D&B. I'm only ruling out gin on this first round, but don't have the stamina to take my research further in this session.
Universal cocktail snack: Pickled Onion Monster Munch. 🍸🍸🍸🍸🤪
My little stack of goodness from a #littlefreelibrary yesterday. #bookhaul
A fun take on cocktails with a literary twist. The names cracked me up and we‘ve already tried a few of the drink recipes. #readathon
More housewarming gifts from my IRL friend, coworker, and occasional Litten @Cconnolly 🥰
Carolyn obviously gets me: a literary drink book, Amanda Gorman‘s fantastic inaugural poem, and Austen novel coasters!
Today I made a “Bloody Carrie” had to improvise because I accidentally broke my Collins glass this morning 😂
So I finished my first book of the year! So this not only goes down on record for #20in4 but also on my #LitsyAtoZ
#Readathon #ReadingChallenge @Andrew65 @BookishMarginalia
This will go down as my T for title loved this book, got a little bored personally partway through but that's just me. 4/5🌟
Another rigged drink with a cute name and a very interesting book I think I'm going to pick up after this 🤓📚
Update I'm almost done with my book but I'm hitting the hay early, just wanted to give y'all an update #20in4 #Readathon @Andrew65
So I kinda rigged it up but I made the most delicious Bridget Jones Daiquiri blended up 🍸😊
I know it's not much especially for Day 2 but I've been busy so I'm at least going to give an update on what I have accomplished and what I'm currently reading 😅 #20in4 #Readathon @Andrew65
“Frangelico and Zooey”
Never thought I would try decaf, but here we are 😂
2 oz chilled decaf espresso
1 oz hazelnut liqueur
2 oz light cream over ice
Made “A Midsummer Night‘s Beam” today since I finished A Midsummer Night‘s Dream the other day 😜
My sister got me this fun book of literary-themed cocktails for Christmas and I just had to try it out. This one is mint, club soda, bourbon, and lime juice, inspired by Shakespeare! The names of the cocktails are the best part. They are so clever! This would be such a fun book for a book club. I‘d love to make a new drink for each get together to try with a group.
Since “Orwellian” has resurfaced as a buzzword, here‘s a Brave New Swirled I made tonight with my new magic bullet
Continuing to work my way through this book. I made a Rye and Prejudice for an after dinner drink
I enjoyed the puns AND found it had some great variations to the classic recipes.
A Waco Goodwill find I was able to remove from my Amazon wishlist.
My next Tequila Mockingbird drink. Adultery is delicious 😂 Ice melted super fast. Here‘s my attempt at an Ethan Pom.
Seems like a good time to finish going through this book. Plenty of creepy ones in here. 😂🍸+1 pt #scarathlon2020 #teamslaughter
Cute little drink recipe book based on literary classics like: the pitcher of Dorian grey goose, the last of the mojitos, love in the time of khalua, lord of the mai-tais, adventures of sherbert Holmes.
thirsty anyone?! 🍹🥃🧉🍸🥂 #cocktails #staythirsty #its5oclocksomewhere #quarantini #tequilamockingbird
Happy "hour' may go on a while! First up, the Lime of the Ancient Mariner... happy New Year ??
You could be forgiven for thinking that today‘s #AyUpAugust prompt was “really bad puns” when the choice of book is #Tequila Mockingbird...
@squirrelbrain @Cinfhen
@arlenefinnigan used the book I was going to do, so have some #litsyhumour instead! #tequila #ayupaugust @Cinfhen @squirrelbrain
#AyUpAugust Day 17: Didn‘t realize there were so many #Tequila books! Some of them really look interesting, too. Have you read any of these?
@MeesesPieces the Tequila Mockingbird mini kit (which I ♥♥♥) has taken its rightful place on my bar. Thanks again!

@JamieLou
A fun book my sister gave me a while back. One of these days I‘ll have to try making some of them! I might have to try the “A Confederacy of Ounces”.
#litup
My favorite bookstore, E. Shaver Booksellers, started a new book club, Tequila Mockingbird, where we discuss classic works of literature and enjoy the 🍸 named after said work. It's my new fave.
#24in48 #hour36challenge #foodrelatedbooks
I‘m not a huge cook, but if we can include #drinkrelatedbooks this is by far my favourite!
We spent New Year‘s eve a couple of years ago making as many drinks from this book as we could handle 🍹🎆🎉

This book sounds great - “65 excellent cocktail recipes for the lovers of wit and classic novels.” 😃😋🥃🍹

Well, it looks like I won't finish Unsheltered before midnight, so it'll be the first read of 2019. Going to take my sparkling water and head to bed, where I'll drift off to my audiobook 🎧 Hope you all have a very happy new year!! 🎉📖 #booksandbubbles #readinthenewyear
Sharing a recent selfie for this week‘s #friyayintro!
Some facts about my selfie:
1) Taken in my bathroom.
2) Taken while drunk as a skunk (off of two glasses of red wine).
#basic 😅
Also:
3) It was November 10th, my (late) grandmother‘s birthday. I‘m rocking red lipstick in her honor, as she never left the house without it.
4) I never seem to remember to put lotion on my hands in the Winter, so my knuckles are also a becoming shade of red. ❤️

Thrilled to learned about the finger lakes. Heard of them but never read of them. Will have a good time using the cocktail book and might use candy in coffee to make the season. (Not much autumn weather here in South Florida)Thanks for being so thoughtful.
Bear with me...if you love literature and enjoy a drink or two, this may be the book for you! Cocktails based on literary gems, including “The Last of the Mojitos” and “Love in the Time Of Kahlua.” The title of this book jumped into my mind this morning for #FlyOnTheWingsOfLove ...go figure! #SeptemberDanes
One of my coworkers got me this book as a belated birthday present (my birthday is in the summer when I'm not working). It also came with tequila and a mixer. 🍹🍸
Was feeling level headed this morning when I made my brunch drink 🙃
The conception is somewhat better than the execution. The cocktail recipes are fine, but the accompanying text about the literary works is slight and rather vapid. That said, I will be drinking my way through it over time, and it does look nice as a novelty item, I just wish Federle had taken his idea a little more seriously. 3/5🌟
In. A. Mood. Work has kept me away from my books to much this week. I want hard liquor and novels!!!
This week‘s #freakyfridaychallenge is in celebration of the freakin‘ weekend!
Participants will receive one entry into the drawing for a book of your choice from my own personal Top 25 list. If you decide to play mixologist & design your own custom cocktail, you‘ll get a bonus entry! (Non-alcoholic beverages welcome.)
Open only to matched Littens currently taking part in the #freakyfriday event.
(This drink is called “Drankenstein.” 🧟♂️😂)
We are supposed to get hit with ANOTHER snowstorm (happy Spring, y‘all 😤) and I am determined to ride this one out in style. And now I‘m wondering-what literary-themed cocktail should I begin with? Love in the Time of Kahlua? Lord of the Mai-Tais? A Cocktail of Two Cities?? The possibilities are endless...
