8-31-23: My new local library. Well, not new, I‘m returning to it after 11 years of being away. Unlike Orange County Library System in Florida, they don‘t deliver to your door in the pretty blue bags I‘ve become accustomed to. I‘ll miss that but now I get to walk to my library whenever I want so it‘s still a win. 📚📖💖
6-25-23: Today was my last time visiting the Orlando main library. I had to drop off but I also stopped at the library bookstore to buy a few for the road. My husband couldn‘t understand why I needed to buy books for the road. He said I could have kept a few out of the boxes I packed earlier this month. I tried to explain it but he‘s not a reader so…🤷🏻♀️📖📚💖
there‘s librarians on here.Hi 🤗! I‘m looking for a library job.I‘m working on my degree currently.I‘m in the running for an aide job at a few local libraries. That would be fantastic, however I do feel like I might have too much experience to get that job.🤷♀️I have loads of bookstore experience.I use to have a bunch of relevant library job website resources saved up.don‘t anymore.post them here or if you‘d like I‘ll give my email. Thanks 😊!
Why ban books when you can defund the libraries of the entire state.
I‘ve known for a long time that I cannot afford my reading habit. I decided to try to track how much I save at the library every month in 2023. So far almost $100. Sheesh!

Travel & Leisure has an article on beautiful librairies 😍

I won a summer reading prize from my local library!
Okay all,
I need you to go watch this video, like NOW!.
It's AWESOME!

Also check out the website mentioned. It looks as it was created by the library system in the upper half of Illinois.
From tomorrow Libraries can reopen in Wales. This will be the first time in over a year. However, none of the Libraries open on a Saturday near us so we will have to wait until Monday.
I‘d love one of these - and the colour is perfect.... but sadly I don‘t have the space... 😢 I need a library all to myself !
YES! our province has allowed libraries to reopen (limited capacity). I get to go visit my friends, the books, again very soon. Good day❤️📚
1. Oh yes! Especially all the wonderful kids resources but also study/meeting rooms, and the printers when my home one is being persnickity.
2. Yup! I work at the library part time, so they are my friends and colleagues, but I've always used them for recommendations, help finding titles, interlibrary requests, tech help, and often just for a smile and a hug when needed (I miss hugs).

Thanks @wanderinglynn for the tag!
1. Pre pandemic I was just beginning to use our local library for the first time (we moved 4/5 years ago) and use it for movie rentals and internet because we had horrible internet in our location.
2. When my kids were small we went weekly the librarians helped with book recommendations.
Anyone else want to share their library relationships?
I‘m very jealous of amazing things libraries offer in other areas.
FACTS! 📚
This is the scene you walk up to at my library. How sad, how depressing and one day, oh hopefully soon, we can enter our libraries again.
For all the librarians out there struggling with keeping your doors open, here‘s something that reminded me why we do the work. I received this note in the mail yesterday at work and it was like a wave crashing over me. I sat at my desk, in my silent library, and cried. This weekend, I‘m baking cookies for all my staff doing curbside pickup.
Boy did we miss libraries! We masked up and made a quick trip!
My temporary library while staying at my parents place during the pandemic (my volunteer and paid work closed up by March 17 so I decided to come and stay at my parents house; I‘m staying until I can get back to my paid work or I may just find work where I‘m staying while I wait; I work as a dishwasher/busser at a very small restaurant; has about 17 tables).
Thank the lord!!
Spent so much on ebooks and new releases that I normally get from the library 🤔
"This week the Internet Archive, in San Francisco, announced—and, in the blink of an eye, opened—the National Emergency Library, a digital collection of 1.4 million books. Until June 30th, anyone, anywhere in the world, can check books out of this library—for free."

Yay for libraries! 🎉👏🏻🥳

Beautiful... I wonder where this library or bookstore is 🤗😍🥰
All these for $8 at the #librarybooksale.
Now I have to wait until November for the next one.😢
@avanders those two turned books might just be headed to NM in the (hopefully) near future.
My main #booksource is my local library! I grew up in libraries and believing in libraries as my aunt (who raised me and is basically my mom) is a librarian and is currently the library director at a library in Minnesota! Library Love is something I‘m trying to instill in my own child and, as you can see, I think I‘m succeeding! #30junebooks @howjessreads
