Megabooks @JamieArc I am left handed and have few pens that don‘t leave marks when I rub. I think I have a blue one that will work. I‘m fine with different handwritings (and whatever color) or different colors. @thebluestocking @LMJenkins 3y

I tried to keep these relatively short. I have a few doorstoppers in my backlog (The Lincoln Highway, The Hearts Invisible Furies, The Fountains of Silence) if anyone would prefer those!

CocoReads I like being at home too, but I work in a hospital so I‘m there 8-10 hours a day, most days. And then I‘m tired so I don‘t always get a lot of reading done when I do get home. Btw, I just requested to join the TBR crew. 4y

AkashaVampie @CocoReads Oh... I totally get it now. Im always tired due to the fact is that Im a stay at home wife and mother. got 2 boys, 14 yr old and 3 yr old. They drive me nuts but i love them. Oh great. I will go accept now. Just to let u know, the site can be tricky to navigate when u start. Also when someone joins, I make them their own topic. Depending what u put for a name, it will be called ______'s TBR. That is urs to do whatever u want to do with. 4y

I don‘t know how she does it. I have 2 girls, twins, but they‘re adults now so they don‘t require the same energy that they once did. 4y

AkashaVampie @CocoReads wow! yeah they are a handful. The 14 yr old is moody becuz hes 14. And the 3 yr old is nothing like his brother.... he likes to get into everything and doesnt like to hear the word no. Its great (i say that with a smile on my face! haha) 4y

#4Horsemen - We do a horseman every 3 months (Death, Famine, War, Pestilence), which takes up for the whole year.

#7DeadlySins - We do a sin every month & a half (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride), which again takes up the whole year.

#DecadesOfThePast - This tag could go for a couple of things. We could read books from their decade. We can watch movies from their decade. We could even work music into it somehow. I was thinking doing a decade every 3 months like this....

AkashaVampie @ravenlee PLC is called Paranormal Love Crew. It is a paranormal romance book club. We read a certain paranormal creature a month (we are doing dragons this month). We used to have a vote on what to read but now the Admins are picking books and u can read any or all of them. We each find 4 books (it can be more/less, but 4 works well) on our shelves that are under 400 pages & post them (in one picture) on here, tagging the others in the group & then we comment on each other's posts as to which book we'd prefer. If you don't fancy any of them, don't feel guilty saying so - I'm sure we've all got plenty to choose from! 🤣🤣🤣 5y

I tend to post a selection of choices to choose from but keep my final decision to myself, however you can keep the book a surprise if you want - it's entirely up to you. This time I‘m thinking SHORT.

So join me if you want to do SHORT middle grade (under 250 pages). MG books keep getting longer and longer, while teachers and librarians keep wanting shorter. So let‘s explore. Group B if your interest.

How about a group for short stories and novellas. There are some great ones. Depending on where you look these are between 120 and 180 pages. Group S

Are there any Omaha area Littens who would want to start an IRL book club? My book club just decided on the books for next year... and 7 are by white men, which has me a little disappointed. The only selection by someone who isn‘t white is Becoming, which I already read & loved. I was just hoping for some more diverse & challenging reads to discuss in the next year.

Amandajoy @Megabooks I‘ll read them sometimes, but I‘m definitely reading more diversely lately. And 3 of the books are set in the WWII time period 😕. I just need to find some more like minded readers around here, I know there‘s got to be some! 5y

Megabooks Yeah. I never used to think about it. Then I tried reading just women for a month, and I think my reading speed at that point was 20 books/month. It was just really eye opening as to what I‘d been missing. I still do end up reading men, especially in the investigative nonfiction I like, but I try to support the women who are finally being let in by buying theirs instead of just waiting at the library. And I am not a fan of WWII books! Good luck 🍀 5y

Megabooks My friend tried to start a book club in my hometown before I moved back, and all the women wanted to read fantasy, but like me, that‘s not her genre. So I don‘t think they stuck together long. 5y
