Wow, just wow! This was such a great read. Had me hooked inside the first chapter. The revelations came quickly. #Dystopian #SciFi #Thriller 5 ⭐️

My birthday‘s later this month (the big 4-0), but my sister surprised me with this early. She was watching the show, then picked up the books (because cliffhangers) and said I should read them too. I started the first few pages and I‘m confused, but intrigued…
My favorite book read in June was Wool! Definitely need to continue the series in 2024.

Audiocrafting : Gangalee sweater with Vidalana Silhouette merino/tencel
#litsycrafters
Part of my effort to tackle my old 500+ books. This comes in at 575. I did part physical copy and part audio, this was just okay for me. I thought the pacing was off. The first 1-200 pages went way to fast, as soon as you are getting to know someone they are gone, this is not a book to read if you like character studies. I also didn't jive with the curt writing style. But I do appreciate the world building that went into the story.
"The children were playing while Holston climbed to his death; he could hear them squealing as only happy children do."
I am going to finish this today but I have mixed feelings about it.
Loved it! Can‘t wait to read the next one! & def want to check out the adaptation
I'm not sure if I want to listen to this or read it in text, but just starting anyway.
On my hook : have started making a Gangalee sweater with this beautiful Vidalana Silhouette yarn I got cheap when Knitcrate closed down. I've finished the neckline and short rows, and am just starting to get into the mosaic colourwork. #litsycrafters
I had a good reading month in June. My favorite was Wool, with Horse as a very close second.
Amazing how much reading I get done when I don‘t have to work!

Super late #JoysOfJune Readathon Wrap-Up!
My goal was to read 3 books. I finished Wool and started The Bird King. I know it still counts. 😅
Thank you for continuing to host and encourage us @Andrew65 !
I finished Wool yesterday and loved it. I wasn‘t surprised to find out it was originally released as a serial because it‘s a very fast moving story. I also wasn‘t surprised to learn that the author used to be a yacht captain as the silo society mimics the departments on a yacht. Read if you like sci fi, dystopian, or girl power.

🌞 Reading on the back porch 💙📘
#serieslove2023 I wanted to read this trilogy since I‘m watching the Silo series on TV. The book and show are sooo different that I have to treat them as two separate entities. So different that I now have so many spoilers about the show! I love the show but wow was this first book amazing. It has all my favorite elements: a dystopian post apocalyptic society, a strong FMC, and an exciting plot! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars!
Wow this was dark. This was a really interesting take on a post apocalyptic world. If all that remains of humanity is in one giant fallout shelter, how do you keep going? What rules are in place? What happens when something goes wrong?
Interesting, thought provoking, and Oh So Dark & Depressing. I need something light after this.
I really liked this book! Sort of set in some kind of post apocalyptic world, where the remaining humans live in a large silo. Most of which is underground... This mystery was engaging, entertaining, and thought provoking.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in sci-fi mystery-thrillers.
📚📖Happy Reading!📖📚
@Roary47 Thank you so much! I love everything that you sent! I am super excited about this series! Looking forward to getting lost in it this summer! Also, this coloring book is everything 😍 I somehow was not aware of s'mores goldfish so thank you for broadening my snack horizons!
@DinoMom @ShelleyBooksie Thank you for organizing!

This was okay but it's too wordy and there are a lot of similar books out there. This did not need to be 500 pages. And there are 2 other books in the series! Yeah. I'm all set. My IRL book club picked this for September.

I enjoyed it very much. The author made his world come to life with very descriptive phrases and word choices. Characters were well developed. I admit I didn't understand what the "architect" of Silo's goal was. I got the gist of it, but if someone can explain what the goal was, I would love to hear it! Even without fully grasping the reason for the silos, the story was fully understandable and enjoyable!
Post-apocalyptic, where society now lives in a stratified underground silo with only cameras sending in a picture of the ruined outside world on the top level. Society is tightly controlled, but as new facts are learned by the sheriff tension mounts.
This lightly scifi book is slower paced but I think that helps you feel the tension & the claustrophobia the silo dwellers must feel.
It gets ⭐⭐⭐, I enjoyed it but I was not totally entralled.
Wool was like a grown-up The City of Ember. Though it slogged at times, the twists complicating the good/bad sides made Wool an enjoyable read.
The idea of humanity's last moments being our ugliest broke my heart. There's no room for war on a staircase, only death. To me that powerful idea was kind of misplaced by the hopeful ending. I felt like Wool could have spoken louder volumes for me if it had taken a chance & showed how some terrible situations can end terribly, no matter how noble intentions were.
I loved Wool, it was written beautifully and its story will continue to stay w/ me.

Out of 6 audio books 2019 I liked these four the most. #4of2019 #bestof2019 #audiobook
Oh night shift. While everyone sleeps, I get to stay up in a quiet house. I‘m finishing an online training about Supervision but once that‘s done, it‘s back to audio coloring!
Amazing world creation. This type of fiction is not normally my cup of tea - but I couldn't put it down. Picking up the other two in the trilogy as soon as I can. 5 out of 5 ⭐
Wool by Hugh Howey
I absolutely loved this book. It's a sci-fi book, so it's not one I typically would have picked up, and it was a struggle for me at first, despite being absolutely beautifully written, but it pulls you in very quickly and then I just couldn't put it down.
Now I finished the #24B4Monday #readthon with 4 hours and 7 minutes and I'm happy that I also participated this month. It wasn't my worst resulat although I visited yesterday and today my friends and had less time to read but many time to eat wonderful cakes 😂😉. I begun a new #audiobook (tagged) and I'm loving it.
Thx to @TheReadingMermaid and @Andrew65
Good Morning! My #audiobook for the #24B4Monday #scifi #dystopie
Day 5 - ‘So Far Away‘
Physical distance is not always the only thing that can stand in the way of reaching an end goal 👩🏼🔧👊🏼
#AnglophileApril #SoFarAway
This book had me until the very end. I've said it before - I like resolution. This one left me with too many questions and some that were barely answered. 509 pages to wrap it all up and finish it and you putzed out in the last 20. 🌟🌟🌟.5
Well that took a turn. How am I supposed to stop reading and go to bed after that nice plot twist. Eh. It's going to be a short day tomorrow and birthday festivities for the soon to be big 4 year old any way.
"Mommy! Mommy! I made you this! It has your name on it!"
"In such pretty writing. Thanks buddy."
"Put it in your book. It'll hold your place."
He'll be 4 tomorrow. ???
