I have never read a Chuck Tingle before even though all his books sound so interesting (I am not a big fan of any body horror) but I was seduced by this gorgeous special edition and the intriguing premise of the book, that I cracked for my September #aardvarkbookclub pick.
I also checked out some reviews and trigger warnings. I know what scene to skip over and was advised that this one is lighter on the body horror than his others. 🤞

Okay. I watched The Thursday Murder Club on Netflix. I “may” have squealed a little when David Tennant first came on screen.
I scared the napping dog next to me. (So judge-y)
The movie was pure delight. The cast was magic. I even loved Joyce (who I disliked in the book). I only disagreed with one of the changes they made from the book; and not enough to really care. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I try to be this person when traveling because I hate the stress of everyone jamming the exits on planes, trains, and ships. I wait until the end unless a short transfer forces me to be one of the crazies.

Grabbed this at the library today. Cute and quick. How did I not know about this from the author of Sarah‘s Scribbles?!?!

This was a fast summer slasher pool read. Not great, but not the worst. The beginning dragged & the end was a bit disappointing, but I really enjoyed the action packed middle.
A solid middle of the road good time that I‘ll probably forget about in a couple days. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this #bookspin pick.
The mysteries were engaging and even when I thought I had everything figured out, I didn‘t, but it all still made sense. The characters were engaging. And it was funny.
The only reason this is not a 5 ⭐️ was because of Joyce. To me she is the weakest character and her chapters were a slog to get through. And unfortunately her chapters were the longest (or at least they seemed that way to me).

How did I not know David Tennant was also in the movie?!?!?!? Could the cast get any better? (Well yes, they could‘ve also given me Michael Sheen 😹)
I am even more excited to see it now.
I‘m only about 60 pages into the book but I have some time. I didn‘t realize the movie was coming out at the end of the month, not next week.

I don‘t think I‘m the demographic for them anymore.
Too bad. I really just hope I can use up my remaining six credits before my November renewal date.
It‘s a shame because I really used to look forward to seeing their selections each month and I always bought the yearly membership.

I‘m VERY late to the party for this #LSFBC #LitsySciFiBookclub and May #bookspin pick.
It took me three tries and several weeks to get past page 100. I almost dnf‘d this one. I‘m so glad I didn‘t. Once it clicked for me I really enjoyed it.

I think I‘m just annoyed that I‘m going to have to spend full price for the Sager and Ware books because the library holds are going to take months to come in. 😣

I look forward to every S.A. Barnes book. It‘s how I discovered sci-fi space horror and I‘m all in.
They are just so much fun. I should have tried them sooner as I‘m a big space monster movie fan.
This was a lot of fun; quite the ride. Perfect? No. But FUN. If anyone has any recs on books like this, please let me know below.

Well…I discovered #pango.
It‘s going to be dangerous because there are a ton of vintage 1970s #agathachristie covers on there, which the #christiescapers group knows I 😍. I have 3 coming.
Bright side is I‘ve starting selling books there too.
