This might be sacrilegious but this is 18 hours long. Isn‘t there something that could have been left out? I‘ve spent days listening - on commutes, cleaning Airbnb‘s, etc. - and I‘m only 6 hours in.

Great Idea by @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks ?
Post a favorite book with the letter "A", and tag some friends!
Thank you for the tag @DarkMina ?
The tagged book was one of the best memoirs I've ever listened to.
Just returned a book to the Library, and saw this on the “Free Books” cart! Couldn‘t resist! 🙂
“My music would always be my identity.”
So much humility, humanity and heart. From his humble beginnings, Springsteen never forgot what it took to achieve fame. He shares his faults and achievements and lays bare the long road to his ultimate success. It‘s easy to find this message in every story , note, melody and song.
This was a re-read for me but I found it much more engaging 2nd time around🎧🙌🏻♥️🎵 #NonFictionNovember
Listening to Bruce share the inspiration behind his songs and then hearing the songs is really adding to my audio experience. I never appreciated this song before, but now I can‘t stop playing it♥️🎸🎧
While I‘m listening to the audio I‘ve been taking breaks to listen to the songs Bruce references. This is one of my favorite Springsteen songs. 🎶♥️🙌🏻 https://youtu.be/w3quyLpUuhk
Mushy bananas 🍌??!?!!

This is a re-listen for me and I have to admit, it‘s MUCH more enjoyable on the second round. When I first listened, I was an audio newbie and didn‘t know about setting my listening speed….BIG difference now!

Here are some of the best audio books I've listened to.
Hope you are having a great Sunday.
3-9 May 2021 (audiobook)
A long, but mostly enjoyable, memoir from someone who is obviously a great musician. I would query whether he is quite as great or as groundbreaking as he proclaims, but am willing to accept many would agree with him. What hit me was his description of his battles with depression in his 60s - a time when it seems to hit many men. Mental health issues are truly frightening and can affect anyone.
1. I listen to almost anything. I love iheart radio. My favorite stations are KUSC, KKJZ, KUTX, & KEXP. The Beatles are my favorite, but I love playing music mentioned in the books I'm reading.
2. I'm realizing that my vacations haven't been that great. Road trips have always been fun, but I don't have a favorite.
3. Being 8 was pretty great.
4. Hearing laughter, but it has to be genuine.
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs thanks @DarkMina
This one is an autobiography about his life growing up, the difficult relationship with his father, his early years musically, his self doubts and ongoing battle with depression, marriage, being a parent, his creativity, his fame and endurance.
It's beautifully written, it's funny, it's sad, it's informative and also filled with wisdom.
Long live The Boss! ❤
Got a favourite song of his?
(Now to get back to Slaughterhouse 🔖)
“ Writing about yourself is a funny business... But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I‘ve tried to do this.”- #brucespringsteen #borntorun
Everlee Anne & Sabrina the rescue are very curious about Bruce Springsteen‘s memoir. They just want to know if Bruce has a dog.
Spending some of my July 4th holiday reading Bruce Springsteen‘s autobiography. It‘s due back to the library soon! I recently heard an NPR “American Anthem” story about Born in the USA that was so interesting I added this to my TBR. #USA #LetsTravelJuly
Given his songs, I shouldn‘t be surprised that Bruce Springsteen, one of the biggest rock stars in the world, comes across as a normal, thoughtful, down to earth, relatable guy in this book. I would love to sit out on the patio with him, shooting the breeze, watching the sunset. I‘m glad he‘s retained humility in the face of his tremendous success.
I finished this book tonight. I have been a Springsteen fan as long as I can remember, but I have a whole new appreciation for him now. He seems very well read by his references and jokes made. I feel like he was refreshingly candid (particularly about his mental health struggles) while simultaneously being respectful and discreet to those in his past. This is not a tell all by any means. If you love his work, you‘ll probably love this book.
It‘s been about impossible to put this book down since I started it. Anyone who has had a tumultuous relationship with a parent to find out later that mental illness was a contributing factor will find kinship with Mr Springsteen. The first couple of sentences of this paragraph resonate greatly with me.
I listened to the audiobook, read by the author.Blown away by his challenges and his honesty.I‘ve loved his music for years, definitely part of the soundtrack of my life .What a great tip to get this on audio.Looking at you @Samplergal 👀
The Boss came to Nationals Park a couple years ago, and my boss couldn‘t use his ticket. The seat location was scary! I stayed there for a while, but at some point (to paraphrase a previous prompt) I went down for a pee and I never went back. The rest of the concert I danced on the concourse and talked to a woman I‘d met earlier.
They didn‘t end with #Borntorun but with Jungleland. Clarence‘s nephew played saxophone. I cried.

Springsteen reveals himself so much here, finally pulling back the curtain on the life that informed so much of his writing
#MarchIntoThe70s #Day21 #HungryHeart I had planned a different book for this prompt(it‘s my birthday!)but migraines don‘t care about that & I‘m struggling to see so obvious it is. Springsteen was my baby teen crush, I had so many pictures cut from magazines all over my bedroom wall. He‘s a master songwriter, guitarist but I really adore the amount of emotion he pours into each song. You can hear his heart breaking in every verse🎵 #theboss♥️
Something Inspirational. #nonfiction2019. A really great book read by Bruce himself. ❤️
This is a memoir that is so much more than a memoir. If you are a fan or not, you will find something to love about this book. Bruce himself reads this book and was nominated for a Grammy for the book. It‘s a love story about music and Bruce‘s passion about connecting with people. Bruce wrote this from his heart and soul. I adored this book. 5🌟 #booked2019 #musician #spring. ( just tagging!)
#WinterWonderland Nothing could be better than listening to this sexy man narrate his memoir🥰 #audio #TenthAvenueFreezeOut
Although I will say this was a tad on the long side...I think it was over 30 hours of listening time 🎧
An absolute must-read for any fans of the Boss. I can assure you that these pages are full of the same poetry that characterizes his lyrics. A beautiful and personal look into the music industry and the magic of the E Street Band.
Any ideas on books featuring #bands #music and #history? I'd like to pick something up for my Bf. He just finished this Bruce Springsteen book and he loved it.
Bruce Springsteen. The Boss. One of the world's most iconic musicians whose career spanned four decades and also one of the coolest motherf*ckers!
My top-3 songs...
I'm on Fire, Streets of Philadelphia, Brilliant Disguise. ❤
Anyone read it? Thinking of starting this soon and reading it on breaks at work. 😌🔖

An unexpected basement flood slowed me down this morning, but I‘m back in the saddle alternating between Born to Run on audio and Sea of Tranquility on Libby. Makes Saturday errands and chores more fun! #24in48
Love an audiobook read by the author. Not a huge Springsteen fan, but always appreciate hearing how a master works.
This book is everything an autobiography should be. It's a record of a life but Springsteen manages to walk this amazing line where he's being totally open without being too revealing, informative without betraying confidences. He's vulnerable, insightful, and reflective where his story most needs it. The writing is stunning both at the sentence level and in terms of its epic scope. I love this book.
Treating myself by finally starting this today. Need some Bruce in my life right now. 🎸
One of my favorite memoirs ever...and I‘m not really a big fan of his music. I loved hearing his stories of growing up, starting bands, and becoming a rock star. His personal stories about his family and dealing with depression made this book amazing though. He‘s realistic about his talents and faults. #audiobook #nonfiction #pop18 #songlyrics
