I ♥️ it all Michelle!! The skull squishy is going to my office to relieve stress.😌I'm all out of candy corn so I'll be digging into this bag & the suckers soon!! I love the skull lollipops!! The orange spice tea sounds amazing! And the books!! I am quickly adding to my King collection! So excited to finally have The Relic, I'm so intrigued by the Straub, this was the next Ruth Ware I wanted, & I'm starting the tagged today!!🤗#AllHallowsReadSwap

lele1432 @MaleficentBookDragon thank you so much for hosting AND being my match!! Everything was so thoughtful and perfect!! 🤗🤗 1mo
MaleficentBookDragon Yay! I am so happy you got the package and like everything. I LOVE Relic and Rosemary's Baby. I reread these every once in a while. 1mo
lele1432 @MaleficentBookDragon so glad to hear you enjoyed those! I have been wanting The Relic for forever. Evil lurking in a Natural History Museum gives me an Indiana Jones feel and it's right up my alley lol. I've thought I'd be too scared to read Rosemary's Baby for years now, but several bookish friends have reviewed it's a great piece of literary horror and now I'm super excited to own it!! Will make a great Halloween read. Thanks again! 1mo

Couldn‘t resist picking up this beer 😂! Roadsmary‘s Baby Scary Good Pumpkin Ale, by Two Roads Brewing Co. Will try it tonight, along with reading a ghost story or two.

Fun fact: in this book, Rosemary‘s baby is conceived on the very same exact date I was born 😱 !

I still haven‘t seen the movie 😳. Think I will plan to this weekend, or at least before Halloween!

This is one of my favorite films of all time, not just of the horror variety; the beautiful cinematography, the stellar acting, along with the perfect casting, the slow buildup of absolute terror in Rosemary as she realizes the truth of her situation...I adore this classic horror thriller.

So “Rosemary‘s Baby” is a horror book/movie...
My mom‘s name was Rosemary...
That makes ME “Rosemary‘s baby.”

I am absolutely certain I‘ve caused my mom to make the same expression as Mia Farrow‘s above when I was growing up.

Does that count for a point? A half? A quarter? @Clwojick ? @TheReadingMermaid ? (it never hurts to ask)

A bit dated but overall pretty good. I love stories about creepy people holding onto someone like wicker man or harvest home, Midsommar, and this one doesn‘t disappoint. I enjoyed the first half of this book when Rosemary & husband Guy move into the Bramford( gothic) building in NY , & the writing about their relationships with the neighbors & the creepiness that unfolds. But I wasn‘t as engaged in the second half of the story , maybe I‘m not that interested in the direction the story takes ( 🤐) .
Still a good read.

The Polanski film scared me shitless many decades ago and the book surpasses the film. Rosemary and Guy are a totally believable couple-in-love at the beginning and almost the scariest thing about the book is Rosemary's gradual realisation that Guy has sold his soul and is in on the plot. The ending, too, has layers of subtle horror that Polanski, at least in my memory of the film, doesn't come close to laying bare. Superb.

Possibly the best horror book I‘ve read?? I loved the slow build, the beginnings of so many things that are horror cliches now, and how real and believable Rosemary was. I was pleasantly surprised by how unsexist it was, and unfortunately not surprised by the occasional racist language (the 60s). As with all horror, the slow build was better than the melodramatic end, but this kept my interest better than others

I‘ve been in a reading slump lately with school starting. It seems like my free time has been scarce, making it even harder for me to devote time to myself. A Litsy friend recommended this book and I finally had got a chance to read it. (Thank you) And I have to say it was a page turner. Levin‘s writing is definitely for a more advanced reader, who understands the difference between truth and make-believe.
