I had 3 5⭐️ reads in January! That is unheard of! A big thanks to #ALSpine for putting the books on my radar.
Overall, I think this one was my favorite because I‘ve been in a huge fantasy mood.
Love this bracket! Thanks for creating it @chasjjlee !
Whoo hoo! The very last adult BEST OF 2022 video is up! 🎉 I saved my favorite list for last - Fantasy & SciFi! And of course...I couldn't narrow it down to just five, so I had to do the top seven! 😆 I couldn't help it! 📚 💗 Please give it a watch, if you have the time! And let me know some of YOUR fave fantasy books that you read last year!

Every bit as delightful as you might expect. Fantasy doesn‘t have to be all blood and cuts, danger and adventure, mysterious rings and evil overlords. It can be about stepping away from the battlefield and choosing to do something different with your life, found family, friendship, delicious coffee and flaky pastries…with a side of danger, a protection racket, and the unknown of what might come next. Loved it.
I wanted something enjoyable and easy to read, and this book was perfect for that.
The narration by the author for the audio was extremely entertaining. He handled the voices for different characters well and kept the story moving at a delightful pace.
I highly recommend this one if you're wanting a feel good read, even if you aren't a fantasy fan.
Repost for @microbemom
A Fable book club /buddy read and the first book is Legends and Lattes. See her page and original post if you are interested in joining the group.
Chores with a side of coffee and a new book this afternoon. I‘ve only seen good things about this one and am excited to dive in.
Sharing for @MicrobeMom in case anyone is interested (see her page for sign up information) I will tag some other fantasy lovers too. But open to anyone interested-
For my February #12Challengein2023 I will be reading the tagged suggestion from @wanderinglynn Because no one I know wants to read this with me, I started a book club on Fable, Stacey the Scientist‘s TBR. If any is interested in reading along, see the Fable site. https://fable.co/club/stacey-the-scientists-tbrs-with-stacey-lettini-33812063356... Each month we will choose a different book. #buddyread #fable #bookclub
Absolutely delightful. A gentle, found family fantasy that leaves the same warm and fuzzy feeling of The House in the Cerulean Sea or The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. Loved it.
As Hemington paid, Viv handed him a roll on a piece of waxed paper and leveled a glare at him. "If you don't eat this, it's possible Tandri or I may have to kill you." The young man laughed, although the laugh became strangled when Viv didn't join in.
Finished this one the other day. I hate when you think you have 30 more pages left, but it turns out to be another story 🤦♀️. But luckily I got a story about the same characters.
This was just lovely. A high fantasy with low stakes. (It says something like that in the back).
I loved this book! And hope the author chooses to write more! I was already going to read this, but @DebinHawaii had it as an unofficial option for #ALSpine
Finally got a bingo on my #ISpyBingo board. It's been really useful in helping me decide what to read next. I've started Packing for Mars for suitcase. I think sports jersey and footprints (and time) may keep me from a blackout, but we'll see.
Thanks @TheAromaofBooks and @Clwojick for a fun little challenge.
Happy Sunday!
Started this book this morning at the nail salon. Picking it back up now while watching football. Go Bengals! (But like I really don‘t care 🤣)
Never heard of "cozy fantasy" until I joined a new book club and this was a pick. Really enjoyed this and it was cozy and fun. A battle weary orc Viv, who was a nomad, decides she wants to retire, put down some roots, and open a coffee shop where most people haven't heard of coffee before. A cast of characters shows up (I loved Thimble) as she works to open her new business while hiding a secret someone is out to find. This was just a nice story
I‘m impressed with the professional quality of the author‘s reading voice. I found the beginning a bit slow but the story perked up and I was glad I kept listening. Lots of coffee ☕️ and treats and a sweet slow burn romance . I did end up liking it @Smrloomis
Cozy sapphic fantasy that reads like the lowest stakes D&D game ever and I adored it.
Viv retires from life as an adventurer and builds up a thriving coffee shop with new friends Tandri as the manager and Thimble as the baker. When a former adventuring partner finds out Viv has a mysterious relic, her safe new life becomes a bit more tenuous.
Finished 5/1/2022
Another #blameitonLitsy audiobook became available today on Libby. So I dropped everything and started listening ☕️ 💚🐉
I needed this in my life! Such a sweet, fun tale of “cozy fantasy” that I didn‘t even realize was a thing. Or maybe it‘s a new thing? I don‘t care. I‘m here for it. Oh and the Libby audio included the short story “Pages to Fill” which was a bit of a prequel and the whole thing is narrated really well by the author.
My #12Challenge pick for January, thanks to @julesg, was this AMAZING cozycore, queer, fantasy novel about found family and starting over. It's about an orc who retires from adventuring and opens a coffee house. Five stars all day long!
And, of course, I had to picture it with one of my favorite pieces of art in our home. 🥰
Wow! I would like to introduce my new comfort read, Legends and Lattes! I‘ve been kind of down, but this tale has turned me around! A simple story filled to the brim with kindness and love, so sweetly substantial. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5/5
Viv, an Orc fighter, is leaving adventuring behind to open a coffee shop.
This is what happens if you take an incredible description of fantasy food or shops and turn it into an entire novel. It was such a relaxing read and exactly what I needed.
@Soubhiville @monalyisha #auldlangspine
What a delightful read! I loved this “low stakes” fantasy tale. It was the perfect, cozy book to dip into a night right before bed. Hoping that we get more books set in this sweet little world.
This was exactly what I needed, and I read it in an evening. Warning: may make you crave cinnamon rolls.

Chiseling away! Next up …
It‘s here! 🥳 Dropping everything else to read this. Why do I not have access to a latte machine?!
Reading legends and Lattes making me eat too much sweets 😋

Absolutely loved this and am grateful that I made this my first read of the year. I think the themes of new beginnings and changing course were perfect for the new reading year.
Reading L&L is like taking a relaxed stroll on a breezy summer day and encountering a friendly talking bear. That's the magical thing about this book, all about an Orc, former mercenary, who's rediscovering the pleasures of coffee, baked goods, and friendship in her retirement. Travis Baldree has written a gem that isn't glib, whose strong writer's voice gently guides the reader around his cozy yet sometimes dangerous universe. #jumpstart2023
My first #bookhaul for 2023. #BlameLitsy for my purchase of Legends & Lattes, I've seen it get lots of love here. I really enjoyed World War Z, so I'm looking forward to Devolution.

I‘m halfway through Semiosis but I didn‘t want it to be my first finish of the year so I‘m devouring this instead. It‘s the SFFBC pick this month so I‘m actually reading along with the group for once. I‘m liking it so far.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved this charming little book so much. Can't wait for the sequel.
I am loving this book. I'm torn between not wanting to put it down and not wanting to get to the end. Gus is maybe not as big a fan, but his complaint is largely that it takes up valuable lap space.
I read 330 books in 2022.
It wasn‘t easy narrowing it down but here are 36 of my favorites.
I loved this book so much! It was the perfect book to start the year with, as it was all about the hopefulness of a fresh start and finding your place in the world.
Happy birthday 🎊🎉🎁🎈🎂 and congratulations 🎊🎉🍾 to @wanderinglynn how exciting!!! I would love the tagged book, everyone is reading it and I have FOMO 🤣🤣 #300kbirthdaygiveaway
Well this is fun!
Y‘all this book was so good. I read it in two sittings because I wanted to savour it but found I couldn‘t put it down for very long. I‘m in love with the concept and the characters and it‘s just like a lovely, well, mug of something warm and comforting. I do so adore it 💙☕️💚
Coming in just under the wire, this book definitely makes my top faves of 2022 list (which I‘ll publish tomorrow on my blog). What an awesome story, and one that definitely lives up to the hype. I love that an orc is the hero of this story. ❤️
Book 45 for #winterreadathon
It's not my normal fantasy book. It was very cute little book. Definitely recommend to someone who loves fantasy but doesn't want a big long book.
A retired orc‘s journey to setting up a successful coffee shop in a seaside village. This was a fun high fantasy read with the most appealing food descriptions. I‘m not a coffee fan, but I‘d absolutely be a patron for the cinnamon rolls.
#morningplans
Drinking coffee from my new ASL travel mug while reading this delightful little book. ☕️
Santa left me some book money in my stocking. And so I got the tagged after hearing so much about it (plus I love the cover) and the Chris Riddell illustrated HHGTTG. Chris Riddell is one of my fave illustrators and I didn‘t know he had illustrated HHGTTG! I was so happy to find this! 🎉🎄❤️
I got lots of bookish goodies for Christmas this year. I'm really excited for the TimeRider books. I love the series and can't wait to reread them all. I also got some bookmarks, a set of Jane Austen coasters, and two paperbacks I've been dying to read. I started Legends this morning and am already loving it.
Hope you're all having a wonderful day. 😊
Finally taking a little time to start a book. I predict I last all of 10 minutes before dragging myself off to bed. Buster is more than ready to go to bed with me 🤣 #dogsoflitsy
I am SO excited to dive into my #jolabokaflodswap book! Thank you so much, @kspenmoll - i love it! @MaleficentBookDragon
Excited to start this. Not much we can do right now. Much too cold to play outside or able to drive. So snuggling up with this book by the fire.
