Bk16 of my ongoing #BookMail is this gorgeous edition. NYC, bookseller Cassie Andrews is given a gift by a fave customer, a book full of strange writings & drawings. In front is a handwritten message to Cassie telling her this is the Book of Doors & that any door is every door. It gives who possess it extraordinary powers. Cassie & her bf Izzy are swept away by what it can do, but it‘s not the only magical book & dangerous people want what she has.
Happy Friday, littens! 🩵📚🩵
I'm totally obsessed with this cover and page edges! 🥰 #goldsboro #goldsborobooks
DNFing at 300 pages because of the absolutely unnecessarily graphic depictions of violence.
Seriously. I can‘t believe how much buzz this book has and NO ONE seems to be talking about the particularly graphic gun violence.
Spoiler-free
"A debut novel full of magic, adventure, and romance, [...] for readers of The Midnight Library, The Invisible Life of Addie Larue, The Night Circus" - I don't agree. It's not whimsical and I'd go so far and say it's more Sci-Fi than Fantasy. Think The Starless Sea meets Tenet with a hint of Piranesi.
I read this in one sitting. I wanted to know whether the author stumbled at any point, because there are ⬇️
Valentine's dinner last night was at my favorite restaurant and of course I got chicken hibachi! 😋💕 It was sooooo yummy! I just started this book a couple days ago and I'm already hooked! Has anyone else been reading it?
I‘m likely an outlier on this book which I thought was ok but a story I likely won‘t remember. The premise is fantastic—magical books, people who collect them, & those that will kill to possess them—& the mystery, adventure, danger & twists are all the ingredients for a great story. And yet, I found myself ambivalent about the characters & the story. In fairness, this may be a me not the book issue. I think a lot of readers will love this one.

Was a bit worried when the blurb mentioned 2 of my favorite books (The Night Circus/The Invisible Life of Addie Larue), but The Book of Doors delivered!
I'm still thinking about this book even though I finished a couple weeks ago. The storyline twisted & turned, and toward the end, I couldn't believe how everything was weaving together. A completely captivating read-4.5 stars!
Thanks to William Morrow & NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review.
How could I forget the wonderful arc I finished last night 😨the book 📖 of doors 🚪 absolutely loved it 🥰 a mixture of discovery of witches and raiders of the lost ark , a hunt for magical books 📚 a real scary villain and wonderful characters who save the day and the books 🫢 can‘t believe it‘s a debut fanflipingtastic !
Last read of January and going out with a bang 💥 what a great 👍 book 📖
Received this as an ARC thanks 🙏 #netgalleyarc and wow 🤩 it‘s blowing me away a fantastic read ! Galloping plot can‘t believe it‘s a debut ! Would make an excellent 👌 tv 📺 series. Compared to a discovery of witches 🧙♀️ but with books 📕 and omg 😨 a real baddie I am scared 😱 of “the woman” highly recommend it - published on 15 February in Uk 🇬🇧
Deep into the ARC of this fabulous story. It‘s out in February so look for it. If you loved Mr. Penumbra‘s 24 Hour Bookstore or just enjoy books about books, you will enjoy this. Warning though - there‘s some disturbing cruelty and sociopathic behavior described in some detail.
Thank you #WilliamMorrow and #NetGalley for providing this #ARC Advance Reading Copy. Expected publication date is February 13, 2024.
