A satisfying whodunit with a dose of spooky. It was so hard to put down that I sneaked some reading at work! *oops*

This #BOTMbuddyRead joins list of #blameitonLitsy #titles and suits several prompts for #Booked2018
I'm ticking off #friendship

Can't wait to pick her other books for #spookyread
#thriller #mystery for #LitWorld2018GB - USA

BarbaraTheBibliophage Hi @BookishMe — I have your #friendship pick for #booked2018 listed as The House of Unexpected Sisters. Care to choose another prompt for this one?? (Or have I misunderstood your post?) Thanks! 😎 1y
BookishMe @BarbaraTheBibliophage you're right. That book by Alexander Mccall Smith was my original choice for friendship. Is it okay to change titles or add different books for same prompt? I have been veering off my initial picks for the various prompts and discovering other possibilities ;)) 1y
BarbaraTheBibliophage You can count it on your end however you prefer. On our end, you‘ve already received an entry into a quarterly drawing for this prompt, so we don‘t really have a reason to track it after that. Make sense? 😍 1y

BookishMe @BarbaraTheBibliophage I think so ;D and yes, thanks for updating me about my entry. I have not been paying much attention to the draw, which is icing on the cake for me. Discovering various books through #Booked2018 has been a fantastic reading journey 💖❣️💖 1y
BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘m so glad you‘re having fun with the challenge. I always like to stretch my reading experiences! 👏🏻♥️👏🏻♥️ 1y
elyseh I loved this book so much! I couldn't put it down! 1y

#Booked2018 1/4 Mission accomplished!
Such satisfying reads! I just realized all are written by females #readingWomen #santhiReads2018
(now I am curious about male authors of cozy mystery/ Feminist books 🤔 🤔 )

I can understand why Woolf's essay remains a classic. I will need to reread the genius' writing again to fully comprehend but what an eye-opener.

Thrilled for the next quarter's #titles. Woohoo (for myself! ;)) lol

GatheringBooks congratulations are in order! :) 2y
BookishMe @GatheringBooks thank you... I can't wait to create the first quarterly collage for GB's reading challenge as soon as I complete my Peru read ;D 2y
Blaire Agree. This was my pick for a feminist classic and loved it so much. 2y

The Fish Can Sing | Halldor Laxness

#Iceland #titles for #readaroundtheworld turned up mostly #Nordic crime thrillers. Not keen on a thriller for now and Laxness seemed suitable.

Started Independent People earlier. Intrigued by Icelandic folklore, and 'verdant meadows'. But easily distracted me will take ages to complete the epic novel.
Then his other book on Overdrive captivated me with the 1st chapter. Reserved a paperback to set on a shorter journey with this #Icelandic tale

GatheringBooks woohoo!! perfect for #LitVoyage2018GB too! :) 2y
BookishMe @GatheringBooks ABSOLUTELY!! 2y
BookwormM I really enjoyed Independent People and plan to read more Laxness 2y
BookishMe @BookwormM I too hope to read more of his books. 2y

I may only be on the second page of the first chapter, but so far, America: A Citizens Guide to Democracy Inaction lives up to the hype 👍

#FootnoteGeek loving this list of alternative titles for #HardTimes. "Two and Two are Four, Prove It!" just might be my favorite...what's yours? #Titles

Libby1 I like the one you listed best but I quite fancy The Family Grindstone. 2y
merelybookish These are fun. Obviously facts were pesky things back in Dickens's day too. 2y
KVanRead @Libby1 Yes, that is a good one 😊 2y
KVanRead @merelybookish Indeed! No mention of alternative facts though 😂 2y
