Starting out this year with a new way to track our reading. Repurposed notebook from 2006, y‘all…sometimes it pays to never get rid of stuff. 7/25 so far with nothing but children‘s books so far. I‘m so OCD my tracker has an actual legend 😝

#bookjournal #booktracker

ManyWordsLater I hate that I can‘t zoom in on these pictures! I want to see your legend! 1y
bibliobliss @ManyWordsLater aww I can tell you my legend lol 1y

I‘m trying to find new ways to track my reading. I think it‘s hard to share images on Litsy but I‘d love to hear what others are doing to track their tbrs and read books. Please share any and all written/visual work you put into your journals. Thank you! 🙂😍

Susanita I have two Excel workbooks. One is for current reading: TBR, bookshelves, yearly books read, challenges. At the end of the year, I move the books read tab to the historical workbook. I color code like crazy. My “reading journal” is a section of my BuJo, where I record my thoughts about the book, such as plot details and things I liked/didn‘t like. 1y
Ruthiella I also use Excel and a handwritten journal as well as Goodreads. I don‘t use Litsy at all for tracking or TBR. it‘s purely for interaction with like minded bookworms for me. 1y
BookwormM I have discovered a great app called Bookmory I love the calendar which shows the book cover and your star rating on the day you finish the book 1y

bibliobliss @Susanita I wish I could devote my creativity to something just like that. I‘m so jealous of the beautiful bullet journals people create. They are amazing, I‘m just not that talented! 1y
bibliobliss @Ruthiella That sounds perfect! I haven‘t kept up with tbr on Litsy lol 1y
bibliobliss @BookwormM I haven‘t heard of that one. I‘ll see if I can get it! 1y
Susanita My bullet journal isn‘t beautiful! I draw like a third grader. 😆 1y
bibliobliss @Susanita that‘s ok!! Lol 1y
bibliobliss @BookwormM I downloaded the app!! 1y

Peep that sexy guy right there. My favorite author!! Anyone read the tagged book yet? I love when he releases a new book; it doesn‘t happen often.

Ruthiella I still have to first read everything after 1y
ImperfectCJ He used to be my favorite author, but his novels started feeling repetitive after A Widow for One Year. I've read all but three of them (Twisted River, Until I Find You, and Chairlift), so it would probably make sense just to read those, too, but I'm a little worried that if I read them and don't love them, it will color how I feel about my favorites of his. 1y
Leftcoastzen I‘m loving Chairlift so far , my progress is slow , not because of the book. Life issues taking up all my time. 1y

Y'all know I know my serial killers 😬💋 the book is decent and I'm trying to get into the Netflix show but it's kind of a buzzkill because I know the story already. People are so shocked with the show. Do they not know what mentally/emotionally deranged individuals are capable of? Dahmer's story is definitely one of the more disturbing/fascinating from a mental illness standpoint. Spooky season #truecrime.

BookNAround I pulled this off my parents‘ shelves when I was about 12. It‘s the only book my mom ever took away from me. I just snuck it off again and I still remember some of the scenes in it (which probably validates the impulse to take it away from young me) even though I‘m 51 now. (edited) 2y

For nearly two years, almost every Thursday morning, rain or shine, they came to my house, and almost every time, I could not get over the shock of seeing them shed their mandatory veils and robes and burst into color. When my students came into that room, they took off more than their scarves and robes. Gradually, each one gained an outline and a shape, becoming her own inimitable self. Our world in that living room with its window framing...

Carnival tents were sprouting in the Square like overnight toadstools. There was the snake charmer, the bearded lady, the wild man from Borneo, who gnawed on white clubs of ox bone, his ankle shackled to an iron stake driven deep into the earth beneath his tent. One might have witnessed any of these marvels for a dime. But the three brothers who followed the wagon across the Square, marching along the dark, dewcut streaks of its passage like...

What use was algebra? Whatever you did to one side of the equation had to be done to the other, achieving the solution required symmetrical manipulation of the numbers on either side of the equal sign. That concept was irrelevant outside the world of mathematics. In real life, the word equality was just something that sounded good on parchment.
