Here‘s my attempt at the jack o lantern fruit bowls. This was harder than I thought it would be. It was hard to get all of the orange out of the peel without breaking it. 🎃👻📚 I listened to the tagged audiobook while making these. Attempted recipe - 20 points, team theme book - 10 points, post - 1 point =31 points #teamslaughter #scarathlon @Clwojick

Sleepswithbooks So cute! 4y

Another one down for #nancydrewchallenge - number eight so far. Requires some suspension of disbelief (Nancy just happens to know the name of the pigeon fanciers association?!), but the girl detective gets the job done again.

The kid said early on, “it‘s NEVER a good idea to leave Nancy alone in a mystery!”

Crazeedi Nancy! I loved every one of them, I even remember many of the titles, like this one 5y
RadicalReader @ravenlee so happy of your success and happiness with homeschooling. I am looking forward to home schooling when I have children love being able to be besides them and be a part of the learning process 5y

Then an unseen man said, “You ought to be ashamed taking a couple of days getting to the boss‘s place and arriving there #lame at that! And why did you go to Drew‘s, you half-witted barnyard goose?” A door closed and all was silent #QuotsyFeb19 #NancyDrew

Books88 Nancy Drew was my jam growing up!! 5y

This was a welcome surprise in my over-wintering greenhouse. One random stalk with these gorgeous blooms that my GardenAnswers app identified as Delphinium aka Larkspur. I guess a bird dropped a seed in this pot of dirt last fall. 🌸☀️📚

My favorite #smartass character is Nancy Drew.
“Bell seated himself behind the desk, motioning for Nancy to stand opposite him. There was tense silence for a moment. Then Bell reached for a desk telephone.
"I am going to call the police, Miss Drew, and turn you over to them on a charge of trespassing, breaking, and entering with an attempt to steal."
"I wish you would,"Nancy replied."if it is possible over that dummy telephone.” #characters2017

As I first started to love reading I picked up a few Nancy Drew books and I was obsessed at around age 10! Last year I reread a few of them and they have some significant problems, in regards to race and class issues so I wouldn't want to pass them on to the kids in my life, but for 10 year old me they hold a special place in my heart as they helped move me onto a path of a lifetime reader! #lovedatage10 #17booklove

BookishMarginalia If I remember correctly, the newer reissues have been edited to deal with these issues and bring the series up to date with current attitudes. 7y
saresmoore @BookishMarginalia Yes, they have. And some of her most recently written books (The Nancy Drew Diaries) are favorites for my 8yo daughter. The legacy lives on! 7y
Christy2318 Nancy Drew is the first series I remember reading. I loved them and even now a good #girldetective story is among my favorite reads. I tried to read Nancy again not too long ago and it did not have the magic I remembered. 7y

AlaMich I've got a box full of the old yellow hardcovers in my basement. I remember being so excited to go to the bookstore when a new one came out. ❤️ Nancy! 7y
Suzze My sister and I had a complete set of the blue covered ones. They were both of our favorites! 7y
Eliza-beta I loved Nancy Drew. But agreed - I don't think they would read well for the adult me 7y
EllieDottie @BookishMarginalia @saresmoore I'm so glad! I need to read on of the new ones!!! 7y
EllieDottie @Christy2318 almost nothing has the same magic! But she's still pretty cool! 7y
