Interesting. A story about the life of Loretta Young starting shortly before she meets Clark Gable. Not my genre, but a very interesting read/listen. You have to admire the woman and all that she accomplished.

So interesting, so good. All about the movies during the silver screen heyday. Loretta Young, Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, Spencer Tracy, and more! Trigiani does a great job of weaving the true story lines we know with the movie making stories we don‘t. I really enjoyed the set painting, artistic and religious elements too. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks Great on #audio #Pantone2023 #LeekGreen @Clwojick
While I enjoyed many portions I found that they were all of Luca & Alda's story. Wish the whole book would have been from her POV instead of only when it was convenient for the storyline. I'm a Doris Day fan and have never seen the Call of the Wild or any other Clark Gable or Loretta Young movies to my knowledge so there was a clear disconnect from what I "should" know and what I didn't of their story.
One of my favourite audiobook this year was All the Stars in the Heavens narrated by Blair Brownshe.
Is a novel inspired by a true story. A love story between Loretta Young and Clark Gable, American actress set in Golden age of Hollywood. This book surprised me in a good way and I really liked it

A good book about Hollywood throughout the decades, a little slow in some parts and maybe I didn‘t need to know what a jerk Clark Gable could be lol but I enjoyed it. #booked2020 #setinhollywood
Reading and sweating lol #notallowedtorun #tothebicycleigo
Next up! A book that takes place in Hollywood. I‘ve always wanted to read this author, she‘s the cousin of a friend of mine and once donated a bunch of autographed books for us to raffle off at a fundraiser.

Another one sitting on the TBR shelf....
Couldn‘t put it down! Made me do a little online search to learn more about these characters.
Another great audiobook. 💗 I found it to be enjoyable, though slower to get into that my normal audiobooks. Not sure how far I would‘ve gotten with in in print though, as I feel I would‘ve lost attention in the slower sections. Still recommend though.
This was the last audiobook I was listening to during #BFCR1, and the first book I‘ve finished for #BFCR2

Enjoyed some more of the tagged audiobook on my walk home from work. I have less than an hour left of listening, but we‘re off to a housewarming party for the evening, so I don‘t think I‘ll be finishing it today. 😫 #audiowalk
I am really enjoying this audiobook so far ♥️ The headphones are going back in while I study. 🎧🙌🏻
Enjoying the sun and this audiobook while I study on the balcony with the boys. 💖#BFC #bookfitnesschallenge
Time for my “morning” walk... it‘s actually 1pm, but I slept in EXTRA late this morning 😂
It‘s another gorgeous day, and I‘m loving the tagged audiobook so far. ♥️💫

#MusicalNewYear #BoulevardofBrokenDreams This is my favorite book by Adriana Trigiani. I love her description about 1930s Hollywood and how she tells the story of Loretta Young. @Cinfhen @vivastory
A great read, this was my second Adriana Trigiani book and definitely not my last. She has such a gift for creating characters and telling a story that keeps you intrigued. 👍🏻
Psyched for the #charlotteroval race today! Closest Bojangles is hours away, so I‘ll just drink my Cheerwine 💗 Started a new book last night by my newest ‘must buy author‘, Adriana Trigiani. Hoping to read a bit today, but with the race on, I doubt I‘ll pick it up LOL
Day 9 #readingresolutions
For a #wishfulWednesday you need all the stars in heaven to wish upon 😉
When times call for easy, uncomplicated, sumptuous reads, Adrianna Trigiani is my guilty pleasure, and this book is just that. Set in glamorous 1930s Hollywood, it tells of the lives and loves of Clark Gable, Loretta Young, Spencer Tracy, David Niven, and Carole Lombard, to name but a few.
A great palate cleaner. Happy Wednesday, friends.
Heads up! My favorite read from 2016 is on sale right now on kindle for $1.99. Anyone interested in Old Hollywood would find something to like. The author did her research, and it shows! This tells the (historical fiction) story of Loretta Young and Clark Gable, when they starred together in 1935's The Call of the Wild, fell in love, and Loretta became pregnant with Clark's baby. Very taboo back then, especially since he was already married.
I found this TBR at my library book sale! Who would give this away?? And the library only wanted a quarter!
Day 3 #JubilantJuly #starsandstripes ⭐️The only book with stars in the title that I have in my stacks with my striped books. It's a great story of old Hollywood with imagined characters mixed in with real classic screen stars.⭐️Forgive the recycled striped books pic from a prompt a few weeks ago. I gave All the Stars in the Heavens to my sister to read & since I don't have it (& I'm lazy😆) I didn't want to re-pull all the books! #lazywins 🤣👍📚
A fictionalized account of the relationship between Clark Gable and Loretta Young, and a picture of #Hollywood in the 1930s. #maybookflowers
@RealLifeReading
A little slow in places. The story of the lives of golden age actress Loretta Young and the heart throb Clark Gable. Loved the descriptions of 1930s Hollywood
This might be the only book I have with cool #endpapers, but they're pretty awesome! #readjanuary @RealLifeReading
This audiobook was a nice change of pace for me. Kind of a quiet and subdued story of Old Hollywood, love, unrequited love, glamour, and lies meant to protect. Plus, the narrator did a great job differentiating the characters with voices and accents. #thumbsup 👍🏻
Got in a couple of hours of audio on my commute before I head into a day of meetings. I'd rather be participating in a readthon with you all but I'll catch you all this evening! #readathon #workcommute #SoCal #itshotagain #whereisfall
I started his on audio last Friday and I can't wait to pick it up again on a long drive tomorrow.
Started this audio yesterday and I'm enjoying it so far. I'm bummed that my car is in an airport garage for the weekend and I can't listen again until I get home. ✈️
I am a huge fan of Clark Gable's only because of Gone with the Wind. Truthfully I knew little about his love affair with Loretta Young or that she bore his daughter secretly. This book begins with the filming of The Call of the Wild, where they supposedly fell in love, and spanned all the way to Youbg's death in 2000. I enjoyed the story but I thought Trigiani meandered way too much and could have written tighter, more focused story.
I really loved this book. As someone very familiar with the story of Clark Gable, Loretta Young, and their daughter Judy who was conceived out of wedlock during the filming of The Call of the Wild, I loved this historical fiction account filling in the details of their relationship. The book was long, but richly told. The author did her research as well, and I only found two timeline errors towards the end of the book. Highly recommended! 5⭐️
Yes 😒
I'm really loving this book so far. Taking my sweet time and savoring it. I wish I could go back in time! 💚💋🌷❤️💋💐💜
I lol'd at that! 😂 Couldn't agree more. I could eat pasta for every meal, too. 😋 #oliveoilforthewin
Our worth shouldn't lie in our significant other, but at the same time I know exactly what she means. 🤔💔
Yes, I'm with you sir! Life is too short for missed opportunities. #hopelessromantic
I am so ridiculously excited to read this! Love Clark Gable and Loretta Young. I admit I squee'd a little when I opened the cover and saw this. Thanks to a fellow Litsy reader for putting this on my radar! ❤️
BIG fan of Adri and glad to finally have her latest in paperback. A bit of a departure heading over to Hollywood but she delivers with a glamorous cast of characters, glittering 1930s landscape, and sweeping love story.
