I was today years old when I learned that Sarah MacLean‘s fan-cast/inspiration for Borne was Michael Fassbender. 😍 I must now reread this entire season with that image in my head. 😍

I‘ve had this book on my shelf for over three years. I remember I bought it because of the high praise I had seen on litsy, but I can‘t remember where exactly.
Well, I finally picked it up and this was exactly what I needed right now. Steamy romance with a feisty heroine who stands up for herself. It was fun, kept me entertained and gave me the happy ending I wanted with a nod to what‘s to come in book 2. I‘ll definitely continue the series. ❤️

Another winning book by Sarah MacLean. Admittedly, I‘m not the biggest fan of the narrator, but I was still quite engaged in the story. In a world of women with sharp minds, and rogues with dark pasts, you know there will be scandal and “ruination.” On to book two of the series!
Such a delightful book! I love finding alternative covers!
A feel good read filled with lots of doubts and assumptions which ended beautifully ❤️
I LOVE making people try romance novels. They always look at me like I‘m nuts when I say how great they are, but they‘re converted once they try them! These are the texts I just got from my work mentee (this definitely isn‘t in the mentor guidelines but she‘s cool 😆)
#24in48 #hour18 #romancechallenge I read a handful of historical romances in high school and then took a 20+ year break from the genre. I rediscovered romance novels a couple years ago, starting with Penny Reid. I love her “smart romances”. I then went looking for a new historical romance author and discovered Sarah MacLean. I‘ve been hooked ever since. This is some of my print and ebook collection. 😍
So very, very good! Loved Penelope and Bourne‘s story. Heck, I loved everything about this book. Perfect cure for the cabin fever I‘m currently experiencing as it is still bitterly cold out. #March2019
Part of my romance shelf for #steamy - I haven‘t read all of these, so don‘t know how steamy some of them are, but hopefully they‘re steamy 💕
#SisforSeptember
Didn‘t have enough brain left to dig into any of the books I‘m currently reading so I grabbed this one (and joined the waitlist for Bareknuckle Bastards!) hopefully some Sarah MacLean will help me with the transition from crappy workweek to much better weekend.
February 9: #riotgrams Beloved Series... this is the series that I couldn‘t put down and that made me fall in love with the Historical Regency Romance genre in general!!
While I tend not to like “woman redeems man” stories, I do love “kick his ass, baby, I‘ll hold your flower” stories, and this book makes you think it‘s in the first category and then BAM it‘s in the second, and it is glorious. #glorytotheguild
Going back through my favorite authors to catch the books I missed first time through, and I was fortunate enough to find MacLean's wonderful first installment in The Rules of Scoundrels. Can‘t wait to dig through this month's #vaginalfantasy pick and my fun reads! #glorytotheguild
Loved getting back into reading historical romances ❤📚 #JanuaryBooks
I‘m so in love with this book! The heroine is strong, takes charge of her destiny, saves not one, but two heroes in distress - (vanquishing a terrible man at his own game), and gets her man. What‘s not to love? Bonus Round 1: Hysterical Star Wars reference at the end! Bonus Round 2: The Epilogue - “bwah ha ha”s implied!
Side Note: Gus earns the Best Doggo Trick of the Year Award, aka “assume the book/eReader stand position!” 😂 #PetsOfLitsy #FTW
Thank you @robinb. My #totebagswap is fantastic! (The kitty loves it too!) I have to tell you that I opened it early this morning because I had a horrible evening at work yesterday but i didn't post until now because the day just got worse... but coming home to see it again made me feel better. I love all the kindness on litsy! #lovelitsy #thankyou @cobwebmoth
Once again, Sarah MacLean does not disappoint. Whenever I'm in the mood for something light, fun, and feel good, I know I can turn to one of her books. And she gets bonus points for writing strong women who stand up to men much more than was "appropriate" at the time the books are set.
My plan for today was to get up early to do yard work because the weeds are taking over. Then clean the house in preparation for company next week. All of this while audiobooking. Reality: I started this Sarah MacLean book on my kindle & haven't started any of my other tasks. I'm giving myself 30 more minutes and then I must get to work!!
Finally headed home after 2 weeks of travel. Ready to get on the plane and finish this! I've been hooked since I started it last night! #travelreads
Books I would take to a desert island. All books that I would be willing to reread! Some romance, some Sarah Dessen, TVD, HP, Jane Austen and a How to Survive in the Wilderness book. I would bring more than just one by each author if possible!! #booksacrossoceans
Quirky female lead and a bastard of a male one - good times had by all. Slightly predictable in some parts but still fun
Romance is not a genre that I read, but this wasn't too bad. I had some issues with the way the relationship got started, but I liked the characters and the rest of the story. The main character of the next book in the series intrigues me, so I will be reading it at some point.
🤣 Appropriate response to someone trying to claim you as a possession 🤣
I decided to be adventurous and try a book from a genre I never read - romance. I haven't gotten very far in it, so I'm not sure yet what I think.
A delightful story of childhood friends who lost and found one another again. And who doesn't love a hero needing some redemption?

(Disclosure: I pictured Hugh Jackman as the male protagonist during most of this so my review may be bias.) I found this a little more troupe-y than my first MacLean read. There is a "bad boy" gambler and a "prim and proper" lady who fall for him. He's a jerk and she wears him down. It's a compulsive read and I still enjoyed it. I still laughed out loud a few times. And I think I'm going to love the tie in to the other characters. Overall 3.5⭐️
Started my second Sarah MacLean and already can't stop! Reading while eating a quick snack of roasted corn salad and dunkelweizen my cousins home brewed 🍻

Just started. Think I'm going to like this one!
Loved it!!! I have two more Sarah Maclean books that I bought, and have three more in my amazon cart. This may be a new obsession.
Sarah MacLean is definitely my go to for romance novels. I've read all of hem except the most recent, which I plan to start soon in celebration of the end of the semester...if I ever finish grading. This is a pic I took of my husband. We are celebrating our 17th wedding (and 22nd dating) anniversary later this month! #aslongasyouloveme #melodicmay
First time reading this author, based on the wonderfully wonderful @megt rec, & she did not lead me astray! I loved this book, it was cute, funny, broken male lead, and sass. This is also the first of four bks, and I'm already down for the next one! I think I just found a new must read author-YAY!!! ❤️📖😍
The kids are on spring break, and after 3 days of camping, they're off with grandparents. Hubs and I have 48 hrs of reading, basketball, and the new Marvel Iron Fist! This is the first of several books in my own little marathon; it was delightful! #romantsy
Just one of my #guiltypleasures - romance novels! Sometimes the cheesier ones, sometimes the Christian ones, sometimes the super graphic ones, sometimes the contemporary ones, sometimes the cozies ... they're just good fun. And Smart Bitches Trashy Books is an excellent resource for them! #marchintoreading

#Riotgrams Day 14: #kissingbooks I haven't yet ventured into any real "kissing books", but this one is on my TBR.
Litten family, I need some kindness. I interacted with an author on social media in a friendly way. She is a pretty famous writer, and I'm a nobody high school teacher trying to sell my first book.
Well, she quote-tweeted me back with a mean smack down that also fished for compliments--which her followers gave in heaping measures, tagging me.
I feel sad and small in the bookish world, which usually feels like home. 😩
I got half way through this and then put it down, distracted by something else. But in picking it up again I really enjoyed it - it was fun and funny and a bit sweet too. 3.5 stars
I've been sick for four weeks now, on top of a major house renovation that left us living in a construction zone and confined to the upstairs. I've been so hard hit both physically and mentally that I've barely been able to read! The American took me to Michigan and forced me to rest for four days straight, which is what I needed. Came home today to newly stained floors and a useable main floor! I may even read a bit today ...
I haven't read a Sarah MacLean book before, but they all come highly recommended! I might try this one for the #24in48 readathon later this month ... plus it's been sitting on my shelf forever AND it fits for #dressesoncovers #readjanuary
Can we please talk about how much I love Sarah MacLean? This series, The Rule of Scoundrels, is such a great way to get into romance if you've never tried it before and it's our next #24in48 #readathon countdown pick. #19daystogo
While I disliked Michael through much of this book, I loved the book. I have a weakness for a bad boy redeemed by love (not in real life though - I'd have dumped Michael in a second) He turned himself around though and Penny was a great character. #romantsy
Catching up on the massive amount of books on my kindle TBR while enjoying some leftover pumpkin cake with bacon streusel, pumpkin egg nog and pumpkin spice tea👌😊
