This is a lovely little story sprinkled with Southern charm, treats, romance, and magic. A sweet comfort food read. 🎧

I read this one years ago but I think it‘s time for a reread soon. I love all her books.
4✨ I was about to DNF this because there was so many secrets. I was worried they would not all be answered. I‘m glad I stuck it out because as the mysteries started to pull together I couldn‘t stop reading. Now I wish there was more! I‘ll have to read more by this author now.
I‘m still plugging away on this. I‘m somewhere between I want to know, to drag it out a little more. The writing gives you a lot to think about. She is describing every detail, emotion, and thought her characters have completely.
I‘m hoping someone has read this to encourage me that the questions will all be answered. There is soooo many secrets and hidden information that I‘m getting PTSD from when I watched the series “Lost” which didn‘t answer everything. 😭
#GratefulHarvest #Moon This one is on my TBR stack! @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Eggs
Turns out this really wasn't my typical read- for me it ended up being more of a romance novel than I expected. It wasn't bad but it did was fairly cliched and corney. Still it wasn't a slog- there were some fun magickal/supernatural elements that I wish were more developed. And did anyone else think werewolf? Haha
I did reallly appreciate the family dynamics.
Love all things by this author. It‘s almost time for my annual reading of The Sugar Queen squeeee.
Bit of a catch-up as I forgot to do #bookreport last week 😄
I‘ve spent a little more time watching tv lately so I‘ve only got 10 books to show for the last two weeks... still not too shabby given the quality of the books read!
I love Sarah Addison Allen and this book was not a disappointment. I loved all the traditional magical realism elements, and characters that find love and acceptance. It only took me one day to read and it made me want to eat cake the whole time.
Taken with my reading buddy, Caprica.

This was a good read. It is a sweet story about letting go and forgetting the past to move forward, to a better and brighter future. I really enjoyed this.
Taking a break from holiday decorating and laundry to start a new read. Busted out a holiday candle I didn‘t burn last year to be more festive. I love Christmas, it makes me happy so I decorate right after Halloween. This is the fake tree for the library. We get a real tree for downstairs the week after Thanksgiving.
Finally back to reading. It's been a long 4 weeks!
Moved across Canada. Daughter is all settled into her new school. Arriving 6 days before school starts. Yuck! Then unpacking. Setting up the house and spending some long overdue time with family.

It was a Sarah Addison Allen kind of day...
I became invested in the characters early on. A simple tale of a charming little town and a mystery with a magical element that has transpired for years. The ending left something to be desired in my opinion, but a great read nonetheless.
This was the pick of a person in my International book exchange group and I would never have selected it in my own. Frankly, I don‘t like the title. But it was a really fun read! I‘m do glad I was invited to share in the magic of Mullably. The imagery and sensory details were exquisite. I now think if people in terms of color and smell. Loved this charmer.
Loved this book! It was a magical read that had my heart fluttering. Best book of 2019 I‘ve read so far.
So true. The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen.
After her mother‘s death, Emily Benedict moves to the town of Mullaby to live with her giant of a grandfather she never knew she had. She‘s trying to adjust, but the townsfolk are holding a mysterious grudge against her mother, and her, and there‘s something, known as The Mullaby Lights, #glowing in her backyard. She‘s supposed to leave the lights alone, but they‘ve taken an interest in her #OctoberPutASpellOnYou @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @vkois88
Sarah Addison Allen is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. Who am I kidding? She already is!
This writer knows how to unfold a mystery! I‘ve read this book and Garden Spells and they‘re both page turners.
This book is about fitting in (or not), belonging, magic, mystery, forgiveness and redemption. Hoping to hear more stories about some of the characters in The Girl Who Chased The Moon! 🌙 #booksbrewsandbooze #sarahaddisonallen

I could not sleep last night so decided to jump onto the #reversereadathon train. #mountTBRchallenge #13books13weeks
I‘ve read this book before, just love the southern comfort of Sarah Addison Allen! This time I gave the audio book a go! I thought it was great!!
This was one of my most magical reads of the year! I am absolutely in love with this sweet, adorable story. For anyone who loved Practical Magic, this is the softer and more sepia tale that will not give you even a drop of sadness. Well, maybe a little bit of wistfulness! 2. All homemade...Asian dressing, honey dijon, and balsamic vinaigrette
3. Cook
4. I try not to but lately I'll eat a piece of fruit to be good.
5. The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen
"There was a mood of magic and frenzy to the room. Crystalline swirls of sugar and flour still lingered in the air like kite tails. And then there was the smell-the smell of hope, the kind of smell that brought people home."
I really enjoyed this book. I listed to it on audio. I enjoyed the characters, the plot and the magical realism. My only complaint was that the narrator had a terrible southern accent. On a southerner, that is hard for me to swallow. A solid 4 star read.
I‘ve had this on my shelf and finally got to it! Thanks to the #buzzwordAthon! This book was a bit disappointing. It has potential but I wanted a lot more about the magic realism aspect and more information. By the time we find out, she‘s wrapping things up!

Just started this one and so far so good. My only criticism so far is the narrator‘s bad southern accent. It‘s not 1860 anymore so stop trying to sound like Scarlett. 🙄
Tbt to one of my favorite books and one of my favorite bookmarks. This book is one that takes you from your daily stresses and brings you to another place. Magical and comforting. One of the last days to get my 15% off anything sparkling. Enter code: ROCKMYWORLD on my Etsy shop.
I loved Garden Spells, so when I saw this one at my local library, I had to take it home! Full of whimsy, magic and joy, this book takes a light hearted look at small town Carolina, where traditions are long and the town always remembers. A love story, a fantasy and an ode to growing up and still believing in magic. Charming.
Yay!!! Found a surprise waiting for me when I checked the mail this morning!! Thank you so much, @HeatherBlue I love them! They both sound so intriguing, I don't know which to start first! And I love that they are a couple of your favorites! Thank you again! 📚❤💚🎄
I love the magical writing of Sarah Addison Allen.
She is so lyrical as she describes the town and characters that I can't help but fall for the spell she's cast.
The parallel story of two different people, a young girl and an older woman, who have just met and have the same goal of belonging is the focus of the book and it's well written.
Just woke up so I'm going to have a slow reading day but I'm excited for my first attempt at a readathon!
1) I'm near Cleveland, OH
2) I don't really have a stack but I'm starting with Girl Who Chased the Moon and I want to finish my #readersgonnaread book
3) Popcorn
4) I'm in grad school so this is a great little break
5) I'm looking forward to seeing how much I can read
Even though I bought a few of Sarah Addison Allen‘s books at one time I am saving them for the times I need a comfort read rather than tearing through them all at once. This is the third of her books I have read and it was just as lovely as the others.
This was really not my usual read but I really liked it and it was perfect for when I picked it up. #moon #uncannyoctober @RealLifeReading
I was a few pages in when I realized this book was going to be a reread. But that's ok! I started to love it all over again. The main character discovers her family's past... along with a love story and a little bit of whimsy and magic. Perfect quick read to avoid adult responsibilities.
My next read. This is my last night on the road. Yay. May I tell you how tired I am of driving for endless hours? Lots of audio book time, too, but my back is cratering. One more day...
