Best of June right here. I definitely had some duds in June (lookin at you, The Handmaids Tale), but overall June was an awesome month.

June round-up, 10 books finished, possibly a record for me. Top two were my favourites of the month, though The Wench Is Dead came a close third.

Thank you Andrea for my #summersantagoespostal package. Little Fires Everywhere has been on myTBR forever and I can‘t wait to read it! I had not heard of June but it sounds interesting and I would love to do a buddy read with you...maybe August? Love the notebooks and bookmarks! Thank you for your kindness!
Thank you for hosting @BookishMarginalia I will post a pick when Litsy gets sorted out.
#morebooksmonday Using a surprise gift card for two summer reads that fit two of my favorite but diametrically opposed genres. Nonfiction about the current refugee crisis, an issue about which I am passionate, and fiction about rich old families in the summer.
Here are a few more activities going on this month.🌸

I would like to do poetry & book photo challenges every month. I really enjoy them, but no one knows that admission as a fact because I cannot stay true to the task. I plan. I try. I go at it with gusto. I contemplate success. And then I fail.
So there is the disclaimer for #30JuneBooks. I like the prompts for this one. I‘m gonna try with an AMAZING EFFORT. Will there be 100% success? I doubt it. I‘m already 3 days late, but here goes everything!
Provisional reading plans for June. 18 books I hope to get to during the month of June. #ReadingPlans

Part 2 of my June 2018 Reads. There were too many to fit in one collage. I read 17 books this past month, possibly a record high for me. And since I tend to read more when my life is stressing me out, that should tell you a little of how June went. Regardless there were a chunk of great books in this mix and they helped me escape to some wonderful worlds.
I‘m late at posting this but I‘ll do it now while I‘m stuck home thanks to the fireworks freaking my dog out. June wasn‘t as productive as any other month this year so far, due to all the end of school activities), along with my stepkids taking over my home here at the end of the month. Not happy about that!
10 books (including 8 arcs), is a slim month for me. But I did meet Ruth Ware!
Plus I have a few reviews left to write 😬 #JuneWrapUp
I had a good reading month in June, especially considering that I had out-of-town visitors for a week and got no reading done during that time. It‘s obvious I am a teacher on summer vacation 😂 I also spent this past few days reading World Without End, but I did not get it done before midnight. It will give me a jumpstart on my July reading. My favorite June book was definitely Calypso. I thought it was terrific.
Thought I‘d post my #JuneTBR finally; I realized I hadn‘t even though I‘d been writing my plans for the month a couple of times. They will change undoubtedly, but I‘ve already crossed off four planned reads. Those top left three that I had been anticipating for a while were EXCELLENT.
Now, must go cheer myself up with a good book! 📚💓
#monthlyTBR #June
The setting is Twin Oaks, a house in St. Jude, Ohio and one of the main characters is June, so I say #HeyJune, #HeyJude! 😆I'd really like to say 'Hey' to the Malted Black-and-White Milkshake I made to pair with my review. It's pretty warm and humid here today and now I want ice cream! 😋🍦🍧🍨And, Hey Jude is now stuck in my head...nah nah nah nah...nah nah nah nah...👂🏻🐛

Day 1: Here's my #JuneTBR. I'm kind of a slow reader, so I'm setting myself short. Hopefully I'll be able to read all these. I believe the only book that I finished last month was Tell the Wolves I'm Home, so I'll have to find spare time during each day to read.

Here‘s my planned June TBR - Salt to the Sea & Wild for #booked2018 and Persuasion for #janeaustenreadalong. In between there will just be whatever strikes my fancy! It‘s summer! #JuneTBR #readingresolutions
I loved doing this photo challenge in May so I am hoping on board for June as well! #readingresolution @Jess7
Ok, this is the first time in soooo very long that I can‘t even remember the last time it happened that I‘ve just gotta bail. I tried this in audio & it just isn‘t working. I can‘t get interested. The characters in the modern timeline feel flat & fake (though the characters in the past are interesting) & I just can‘t go any further right now. Maybe I‘ll try reading it later & see if that works better than audio for this one.
June is the only book I found on my shelves with #cursive but there were quite a few on my Kindle.

#TBRtemptation post 2! 25-year-old Cassie is holed up in her family's crumbling Ohio mansion, mourning the loss of her caregiver, her grandmother, June. A messenger tells her she's inherited the vast fortune of a matinee idol Jack Montgomery. His daughters come to take the fortune. What follows is an investigations revealing a relationship 60 years prior involving murder, blackmail, & betrayal. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
I found this story dragged. While the premise was intriguing, 1 of the problems I had was that I thought Cassie's decision to not just do the DNA test right away was petty &unnecessary. All (or most) questions could've been answered if she'd have done this at the beginning.
The story oscillates between past &present &I enjoyed the story of Jack &June. However, much of Cassie &Tate's story bored me &I didn't care for the characters of the present.
Late June recap! June was not looking like a great reading month for me until I got sucked into Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. I spent half the month traveling around France and not reading much, but trust me, no complaints here!
This is one of the most beautiful places we visited - Burgundy wine country, just north of Beaune.
A little late, but better late than never! Really great month! We're on vaca right now, but when we get back I'll post my intents for July.

Getting back on the horse with these numbers.
I haven't been keeping track of my challenges for my last two months. Just. Meh. So here's what I read in July, mostly. I think maybe one more comic and short story.. anyway! 11 is a good total!
In July, I need to pay off my library fines, but everything I have on hold except comics are not out yet, so I'm going to stick to reading my actual books!
#junewrapup #wrapup #july #TBR
Not a bad month! I read 11 books in June (2 audio). Special shout out to a Gathering of Shadows which was my 100th book this year! (Also an amazing series can't wait to finish it this month).
I finished at 14 books this month! I was heavy on the #ya informational books. I've got an audiobook in progress, a non-fiction, and a fantasy, which I will hopefully wrap up in the next week. #splashintosummerreads #wrapup
El Deafo and Burn for Me were my favorites. #bestofJune #junebookbugs
I only managed to read five books for the month of June. I am not going to lie fellow Littens, life has been very difficult lately. In the past, I have used reading as an escape from trouble. The trouble I have going on right now is overpowering everything. I am a daughter and a mother, and the love I give out for both of those roles is causing me pain right now. It's so hard when things are out of my control.
#splashintosummerreads #wrapup
I won't finish any more books in the next day, so here's my wrap up for June!!!! Hoping to finish off Mount TBR in July!
For all the new Littens, here are the June Litsy games. Screenshot this, so you have it in one place and can blow it up to see the print. To play, use the relevant game's hashtag (#JuneBookBugs #JuneTunz #SplashIntoSummerReads #RiotGrams) and the daily hashtag. I've tagged the game hosts so you can go to their profiles and learn more. There's also the #ReadingWomenMonth game from @thereadingwomen which I learned about after collating this image.
I've been a fan of Miranda Beverly-Whittemore's since her first novel, The Effects of Light. Her fourth, June, is now out in paperback.
Two more challenges to add to @RaimeyGallant's infographic - but Litsy didn't like the cropping so I had to keep the unedited version. Tags are #Characters2017 for @LibrarianRyan and #readingwomenmonth for @thereadingwomen
Here are all the June Litsy games I could find. Screenshot this, so you have it in one place, and feel free to repost so we can get more Littens playing along. :) If you're new to these games, use the relevant game's hashtag (#JuneBookBugs #JuneTunz #SplashIntoSummerReads #RiotGrams) and the daily hashtag. I've been slacking on reading, blogging, and Litsying for a while now because life keeps getting in the way. This past weekend I attended a professional conference that made me fall back in love with my field, and has motivated me to set some personal goals and get back on track for things I love. I'm hoping this challenge will help with accountability/consistency, and I'll be able to settle back into this beloved community. 💜

I'll be having a go at this for June, here and on Instagram (same handle there) #riotgrams
It's still May 31 here in California - and a sunny one at that. Hope you've all had a wonderful May and here's to a book-filled June ahead!
