I loved this book. 16 year old Leia formally demands (as is tradition) to become the next queen of Alderaan. She has to prove herself in mind, body and spirit, along the way she meets Amilyn Holdo and Kier Domadi her first love. Meanwhile her parents along with Mon Mothma are beginning the Rebellion.

It took me a bit to get into it but it was a good book about how Leia joined the rebellion and what shaped her as a princess. I loved Bail and Breha and we meet Holdo, which makes me even more sad about TLJ. If you don‘t know where to begin in this canon, this is a good starting point.

This backstory is not only about Leia but also about a budding rebellion. A trip to the planet Crait and Naboo, a little R2D2, a look at how her friendship with Amilyn Holdo came about, and a little romance round this story out quite well. There is a few other tidbits strewn about that makes this an interesting addition to the Star Wars Disney Canon.

“I have a present for you,” one of my co-workers said this morning and then she handed me the tagged book. She‘s an even bigger Stars Wars fan than I am but even so, she decided she didn‘t need two copies. Book people are the BEST people!!!

My last book of 2019 was Oliver Wendell Holmes biography, which I greatly enjoyed. My first book of 2020 is the tagged and I loved it!

First book of 2020! And what a story it is! I didn‘t want it to end.

The author did a fantastic job of capturing 16 year-old Leia and how a teen would act, think, and feel. This story perfectly sets up the background to how Leia ultimately becomes the General of the rebel forces.

Had an event with Claudia Gray tonight and it was so fun! She's fantastic and spoke about going from writing fanfic to original novels to Star Wars tie ins. Bloodline is my fave but I really enjoyed this one as well. Loved Holdo and loved seeing Leia stumble (and recover) in her journey to be a leader in the rebellion.

I really enjoyed this one, although I'm a huge Star Wars fan and Leia has been an idol since I was little, so a bit of bias is at work here.

There are elements of YA because of Leia's age when the story takes place, but it's well done.

May the Fourth be with all you lovely littens! If you enjoy Star Wars and haven‘t read this book you should! Also today was a little comic book/ nerd convention at my library! It was lots of fun!

Ahhhhhhhh... sooooo good. I really loved this story. It‘s a Leia origins story really, she‘s 16 years old in Alderaan, trying to prove herself to her parents and accidentally uncovering their involvement in the rebellion while she‘s at it. I hope Claudia Gray continues writing Star Wars canon until she is old and gray 🤣❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Solid entry in the franchise, and a fun read, but this one just didn‘t engage me as much as Bloodline or Lost Stars. I‘m a thoroughly 80s kid, and I had trouble fitting the Leia in this book with the Leia I grew up with. I appreciated the portrayal of her prior interactions with Tarkin, and in the legislature.

I love Leia, so it‘s probably not a surprise I loved this tale of a young uncertain teen Leia trying to navigate her way through an complicated galaxy. I love seeing our heroes when they were just learning to be the people they would become, and not yet so sure of themselves, this one did all of that and still managed to tie itself into Gray‘s other novel Bloodline, and the latest film with Leia and Holdo‘s early friendship.

I love these glimpses of Leia‘s adoptive mother! Bail we‘ve seen fleshed out a bit more in the prequel movies, but this is the first I‘ve read much about her childhood and her adoptive mother, and the wonderful influence her adoptive parents were on her life.

It is so much fun reading about a teenager and still unsure of herself and her power princess as she navigates a very complicated world.

I‘m loving this one!

Claudia Gray is my favorite Star Wars author, and both her Leia books are so good! I can‘t decide which I like better - Bloodline, which is post-Empire, or Leia: Princess of Alderaan, which is pre-rebellion. Definitely worth reading them both!

Claudia Gray‘s Star Wars novels are excellent, I think because they would be excellent even outside of that universe but she weaves them into a Galaxy Far Far Away perfectly.

This is such a fun book. It's much lighter than Bloodlines, and really gets into how Leia becomes the woman we see in the movies.

I was really surprised by how well it ties all the movies together. There are references to the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi that really help tie things together.

This is a super fun book for anyone who loves Princess Leia!

This is such a fun book about Leia undergoing the trials necessary to be officially declared heir of the Alderaanian throne and discovering her parents involvement in the rebellion. Great character development of Leia & her parents (which I really enjoyed seeing), & so many connections to the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, sequel trilogy, & Rogue One. Definitely recommend for Star Wars fans, esp. if you love Leia & want more of her backstory.

I'm was really unsure about this book, Claudia Gray is amazing and proved me wrong. This is about a young and naive Leia and it's truly a coming of age story for her and the rebellion.

The “Journey to” books are so well done. I especially loved this look into teenage Leia and the Easter eggs hidden for fans of Star Wars. The audio production was excellent as well- sound effects and a soundtrack enhance the audio booking experience.

Finally finished this yesterday morning,it took a little while to get going but once it did it had me hooked.This is set between Ep III Revenge Of The Sith & Ep IV A New Hope,16yr old Leia is undertaking the testing before being officially inducted as the Heir to the throne when she falls in love with a shy boy in her class. But after uncovering her parents secret rebel leanings, tragedy rocks her world & she must choose the which path to take.
