“But now I am six, I‘m as clever as clever. So I think I‘ll be six now forever and ever.”
“A heartwarming collection for anyone who remembers the magic of being young.“
This companion to When We Were Very Young continues the poetic celebration of childhood with wit, nostalgia, and the wonder of being six.
4✨ My Sister-in-law always loved Winnie the Pooh so there is a part of me that grew up knowing these stories. I am not really one for poems, but there is a truth to this story‘s. They are written as if a child wrote them, and their content in the short snippets is plots and concerns children would have. #AudibleRead
A lovely collection of 35 children‘s poems with eloquent narration! Not what I was expecting but delightful nonetheless 🤎💛🤎

This sweet collection of poems by A.A. Milne captures the magic and imagination of childhood. Some feature Christopher Robin, Pooh, and the gang, but many do not. All are delightful! The whimsical illustrations by Ernest H. Shepherd enhance the fun. I loved these poems as a child, and still do today. ⬇️
I just adored this little book of playful children‘s poems! Singing them aloud made me laugh (and made my family wonder about me!) It also had a hilarious introduction and some of the cleverest rhymes I‘ve ever read. When I need a smile, I know I can always rely on A.A. Milne and Pooh! 😊
Thx @TheBookHippie and #ChildrensClassicRead2022 for another winner! 🙌🏻
A lovely book of poetry featuring Christopher Robin and sometimes, Pooh appears as well. We meet Christopher‘s friends both human and otherwise. Included are the original illustrations by Ernest H. Shepherd which are delightful! As @TheBookHippie has recommended, it is a wonderful way to start the day with a cup of coffee or a sip of tea! #childrensclassicread2022 Thank you for another choice that brings a peaceful feeling to my soul.
Sweet book, some amusing poems. Wished there‘s more of Pooh in it. My favourites are the Christopher-and-Pooh poems.

Why can't a mom go back to when her own children were six and want to cuddle with you and share a child's book of poetry? 😭😭 I WANT A GRANDBABY!!!!!! Like Pooh, I was expecting this book to be different, but loved every stanza. #ChildrensClassicsChallenge @TheBookHippie
I found this an enjoyable tidbit. Some poems were better than others, of course, but they were refreshing and fun overall. Thanks to @TheBookHippie for picking this for #ChildrensClassicRead2022 - especially nice as I read the two prose Winnie-the-Pooh books last summer, and my mom sent me the two poetry books (both lovely 1950s-ish editions). Glad to have a push to read at least one of them!
This was a sweet little book. I would‘ve liked a higher percentage of Pooh, but I‘m glad to finally have read this after it‘s been sitting on my shelves for years. #ChildrensClassicRead2022 @TheBookHippie
Finished Now We Are Six by A. A. Milne. What a wonderful collection of poems to read in the morning! It brought thoughts of my granddaughter who is nearly two. I enjoyed it very much. #17 #BookSpin #13 #BFC22 #ChildrensClassicRead2022 #Buzzwordathon #ReadYourShelf #Pantone2022ColourChallenge
Wet afternoons are great for curling up with a book indoors, I was enjoying a few poems from the tagged book. Loving the original illustrations by E.H. Shepard.
“Wherever I am, there‘s alway Pooh,
There‘s always Pooh and Me.”
I love Pooh 💛

Have loved listening to these on short drives. Not that we do too many at the moment - life in lockdown 2.0! Alexander Beetle will always remind me of my own mother and childhood.
My #greencover for #MagnificentMarch. I read these as a child and feel in love. Several years ago my mother-in-law found the 4 book set at a garage sale and bought them for me. They are some of my most cherished books. 💚

I also love the connection to Winnie-the-Pooh. This is fun for all Pooh lovers!
A very cute book filled with some of the best children‘s poems. Easy to read, some are fun and really relatable to children.
For a long time, this has been my favourite poem. I have no idea why. The only thing I can think is that for my 14th birthday (yes you read that right) I got this lovely hardcover edition of all four Pooh books, and this was on the very last page. One day my dog pulled it off the shelf and it fell to the floor (nearly hitting him) and fell open to the very last page and there it was.

More books I‘d forgotten about. Love the copy of ‘Now we are Six‘ - it‘s from 1963.
I love this - ‘Readers should take the greatest care of the books and report to the Local Librarian any defect found in them‘ - oops!
The other two are late ‘70s so still quite old, but in better condition.
“Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?” ~A.A. Milne
This has long been my approach to writing...spending days, months, even years thinking about characters and stories, without committing the ideas to paper. I‘m better now, trying to write every day, but the struggle is real.
My A.A. Milne collection sparks my creativity, motivation, and childhood curiosity without fail
What are the books that you turn to most for inspiration?
Now We are Six is a collection of poems written by A.A Milne. I didn‘t know about these poems until a friend introduced me to them. I enjoy how simple they are and how children and adults would both enjoy reading them. This is an audiobook of the poems that children will enjoy. https://youtu.be/5iOlObXddhE #UCFWalterslit
Happy Birthday to my favorite literary guy. ❤️ #catsoflitsy
Whenever I think of #KingJohn I hear the King's Singer's setting of A. A. Milne's poem, King John's Christmas from Now We Are Six. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U0uGDrYaLTU Here's one YouTube video of it.

From the intro, but I thought it was the cutest thing. And an apt post script.
