Typically for NYE I stay at home cozy with the kiddos. We play board games, build puzzles, drink cocoa and maybe a few close friends come by to join in with a potluck dinner. We countdown and text are immediate family at midnight before crashing hardcore into bed. We are all about low key at home for New Year‘s celebrating!

I actually wouldn‘t mind getting glammed up and going out for New Year‘s Eve, but I don‘t because I refuse to be out on the roads on a drinking holiday. So usually I just stay in and watch the ball drop, then pop a bottle of champagne for myself at midnight. Might not make it tonight - I have a mean case of the Sunday scaries about going back to work on Tuesday and am worried about oversleeping after two weeks off.

I surpassed my goal of reading 50 books in 2021. Wanted to make it over 60 books but got in a reading slump the last 3 months of 2021. But still proud because this is the most I have ever read in a year 😊 my goal for 2022 is to read 52 books. #bookgoals #yearlywrapup #goodreadschallenge

🎆My NYE was spent with my group of friends and family I have collected in 2019. This was the best NYE I have ever had everyone is so accepting and loving and I feel very blessed to have them all. We spent the evening dancing, laughing and playing board games .

Last tradition of the holiday season is to enjoy what my husband and I call “Zoo-Year” where we go to the zoo on New Year‘s Day. (We try to spend the day outside, enjoying each other‘s company and just in little/to no stress since the superstition of us spending the rest of the year how we spend the 1st.

I decided this year not to put so much stress on myself in reading as many books as possible. I havent hit my goal in the past 3 years so I figured I would do something attainable. I also want to take my time reading and enjoy the story as well instead of worrying about reading it fast to get through it happy new year my friends. My 2020 reading goals will be flexible, as I'm navigating new motherhood while juggling an insurmountable TBR.
📚 I'll try the Goodreads challenge again and I'll probably fall short of my yearly goal, as usual.
📚 I want to dive back into the Harry Potter series and finish in the next year or two.

2019 included a lot more books than I imagined it would when it kicked off 364 days ago! I discovered a bunch of new authors, read some of the best fiction I‘ve ever come across, & learned a lot about myself as a reader.
There‘s about 8hrs left until midnight in my part of the world so just enough time to finish one more book before the decade ends... 😉

I‘ve read # 3, 9 and 15, and # 5, 6, 14 and 20 aren‘t available from my library or Scribd, so I‘ll focus on the other 13 books. I‘m not sure I‘ll get through them all, but I‘m hoping with a mix of audio and print I can make it through most.
