Already 1/3 through! Such a great match for reading by the ocean.

I thought I had packed my next #LMPBC book for vacation but evidently didn‘t. I‘ll start that next week. So I picked this up and think I will be done before we have to head home! Loving it so far!!

I just finished PS while vacationing in FLA. I enjoyed this read so much and remain in awe of Kingsolver‘s writing acumen! 3 interwoven stories taking place in a mountainous valley of Appalachia. I found myself tearing up and laughing out loud. Kingsolver‘s ability to put me in the setting is perfection itself! I felt like I was in this lush green world! A little late but I‘m mailing it on to the next person in #Round20 #LMPBC #GroupC 4.5/5⭐️

My cards are going out a little late, but should arrive before the end of the month. Seems apropos considering the sudden return to chilly temps and the occasional snow squall! I hope everyone loves the poems I selected as much as I do!! To me, spring conjures images of all the creatures peeking from their burrows and dens and snug hidey-holes! Happy Spring!! 🌸🌈🌦️🌿🐿️🐇🦡🦔

I read this book years ago and still think of it frequently. It might have been one of the first novels that made me feel physically cold as I read it. Very well written with suspense, complex characters, and beautiful, if chilling, setting! A favorite of mine!!

Due to the icy travel conditions, my arrival home to CT has been delayed for a day. I will get my mail from the POffice once I get home. Unfortunately, I won‘t be able to open my

It finally arrived! Just in time for Christmas, so lots of quiet time by the fireplace for reading! Perfect! @BookishBelle I think I know what caused its delay. I can see it was meant to arrive weeks ago, but unfortunately, it looks like the package received some damage in transit: crushed cardboard and retaped shut, but just marginal water stains on the book. This little novel has had quite the journey! Time to give it some love! #LMPBC #Round19

If Cormac McCarthy met Anne Rice at a West Texas honky-tonk, danced a slow two-step while polishing off a bottle of tequila, they might dream up this novel. I felt like I was reading No Country for Old Men but with the tortured vampire souls born of Rice‘s imagination. While the plot might be seen as slow at times, I was fully invested in exploring the backstories and growth of each of the characters. I just love a morally grey villain! 4/5⭐️

I felt like I was floating through Where the Crawdads Sing but with Victor LaValle as my swamp guide. Creepy, yet beautiful, I loved the tension, action, & thoughtful characterization in Davidson‘s writing. A deftly woven tale of horror, myth, murder, and gritty Americana, TBD is a book I‘d highly recommend for late night reading on a bayou. Was that a catamount or a woman screaming? Think I‘ll lock the doors and turn out the lights! 4/5⭐️

I‘m finally getting last round of #LMPBC book back to its owner! Sorry it took so long, but I added a treat to help sweeten its delay! I enjoyed this fast paced read and would love to see the Tundar landscape! I did get annoyed with Sena‘s actions but I‘ve come to believe that this is because I‘m old as dirt and have to really think outside myself to get some adolescent characters. I‘ll give this 3.5/5⭐️Thanks for sharing!

I read this novel in just a couple of sittings and enjoyed it thoroughly! Not a cozy witch book, but also not too scary. I loved Corrag more, but Weyward was well worth the read! I liked the interwoven timelines and I felt that plot kept me well engaged and turning pages. I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves the human story behind the fantasy. 3.5/4 out of 5 ⭐️

I enjoyed listening to the audio book of this novel. The allegorical aspects of the main conflict were well conceived and I didn‘t find their use heavy handed. Chbosky kept me engaged with the plot and the suspense was strong to keep me listening without diving into horror overkill. I did find myself spacing out occasionally and I‘m not sure why. Overall though, I really did enjoy the story and would recommend it to others. A solid 4/5⭐️

Just got this in the mail today! I had so much fun reading this book! Chambers does such a great job of writing her characters with humor, sensitivity, and insight! Some might say that SciFi is too “out there,” but she proved that aliens, rocketships, and space travel are just as engaging, exciting, and humanly relevant as any Earthly novel. I loved each character and the adventure was fun & exciting! Eager to read the next in the series! 4.5/5⭐️

I adored this novel. Semi-epistolary, this book tells the story of Corrag, an accused witch living in Glencoe, who warned the MacDonalds of the impending massacre by the Campbells and William of Orange. Based upon real events and people, this story was so beautifully written and both achingly bittersweet and philosophically pertinent to me that I‘m already planning a reread. The image reminds me of a trip I took to Scotland a few years ago. 5/5⭐️
