Jodi Lynn Anderson is an American children's writer. Anderson attended college in the University of Maryland where she graduated with a BA in British Literature. She went on to get an MFA in Writing and Literature from Bennington College. She started her career in books as a book editor at HarperCollins in NYC. Since then she has gone on to write fiction for young people and had a New York Times bestselling novel.

pickWhat a surprise this book was. I would have read it sooner had I known it was going to be so haunting and beautiful. I really enjoyed this telling of Neverland, centered around Tiger Lily and told through Tinks eyes. I‘m very picky with my Peter Pan retellings and this not only is one of the best I‘ve read but one of the best books I‘ve read this year.
A quiet kind of lush. dark and sad and sweet. Very well written
A Peter Pan retelling from the perspective of Tinkerbell. I found the pacing to be quite slow and I had a difficult time with the audiobook narrator, so it might be worth reading a physical copy of the book if you plan to read. Overall I feel let down that we are only able to observe Peter, Tiger Lily, and Wendy, rather than hear from them directly. Plus the tropes of I‘m “not like other girls” and damsel in distress are tired.
The adopted daughter of her tribe's cross-dressing shaman, Tiger Lily enjoys immense freedom until she learns that she is to be wed to violent, overgrown Giant. The forever-15-year-old accepts her fate until she meets the infamous Peter Pan and his Lost Boys.

pickOnce in a while you read a book that is different from all the others. It hooks itself into your heart and doesn‘t let you go until you turn the last page. And when it is done, you realize that it has left a gaping hole inside of you. For me, Tiger Lily was that book. I knew how it would end, thought I was prepared, but somehow I still wasn‘t.
